Paul J A 244 Posted March 30, 2020 Looks like a cold weld was applied by the original welder. The welder did not align the weld to the root of the joint which would have provided maximum penetration and strength. Notice how the crack goes up towards the end . It followed the least points of strength and resistance. One of the contributors to failure of the weld. The undercutting at the right end of the weld is another contributing factor.
