  1. Tried this out and the gauge stayed at the same reading, ~50psi when the tag axle was lifted. I did however eliminate the regulator as the issue, I pulled off the line from the outlet and air comes out of the regulator. Guess this brings me back to either the manifold or the control box.
  2. Not sure, I've never actually looked at it when the tag is raised. Am I correct in assuming if the regulator doesn't drop to 0, that indicates there is a problem with the regulator?
  3. The regulator gauge is sitting at about 50psi. I was going to try what you suggested but was unsure which side was the outlet, my guess was the side with the black hose although I wasn't going to try and remove it because the connectors are threaded right into the regulator and I'm not even sure how to get the lines off cause I can't turn the lines, so I'm not sure how to remove the line. The control panel seems to be functioning with no problem, I had an issue where the ribbon cable fell off but I took measures to ensure it doesn't fall off again. Will include a photo of the regulator, perhaps you have some suggestions on how to remove the connectors and if my assumption about the black hose being the outlet is correct. Thanks
  4. Thanks Frank, will try replacing the regulator if I can find one, I live in Canada and it seems like whenever I try to find a part, it's darn near impossible.
  5. Sorry Frank, Yes, it is an HWH system. Thanks for the link. After your explanation, I'm still puzzled as to why it's just the tag axle air bags which don't fill in travel or level mode yet they fill in manual mode.
  6. I've been having an issue for some time now that the 2 air bags for the tag axle are not inflating when I start the coach and there is no air in the system. The front and drive axle air bags inflate fine, the only way I can get the tag air bags to inflate is if I manually add air to the rear air bags using the control panel, then when I turn the system off, it will let the appropriate amount of air out to level for travel. What I'm wondering is how valves are distributed for the air bags, is there a valve for the tag axle bags only and the drive has it's own valves as well? Basically, I'm looking for a bit of an explanation on how air bags are filled in the rear. Thanks Mike B 01 Dynasty with Tag
  7. Over the past few years it seems like every time I turn around, I'm finding new cracks on my coach, these cracks don't appear to be the usual thermal checking problem, one is split open (will attach a photo) and has hairline cracks protruding from it all around. I got a quote a couple years ago and it would cost close to $6000 to get the crack fixed but now I have small cracks forming in the same stripe elsewhere which are starting out the same as the large crack (will also attach a picture of this). I'm not the first owner of this coach but I do know it's been repainted in a number of places, it's pretty easy to tell where it was repainted now cause the clear coat is pealing off. Sadly when I bought it, I didn't know what to look for when it came to determining if areas had been repainted. The one thing that took me by surprise is that below the camera on the rear cap, there are 2 horizontal cracks about 6 inches long with maybe an inch separating them, from whatever I've read on thermal checking, it seemed like the front and rear caps were not affected, if that is the case, what is causing these cracks and is this normal? Every time I go out to the storage it seems like I'm finding all these new cracks and it's rather distressing cause with all the clear coat pealing and cracks, the quote I was given a few years back to fix everything was about $24k (I live in Canada and don't have access to too many RV body shops) and I'm sure that price has gone up. At this point, I'm not even sure it's worth the money to have all these issues fixed, but it really bugs me to see how bad my coach looks. So basically, I'm wondering if cracks as I described are normal with age? I also wouldn't mind hearing opinions on whether this is worth fixing? Thanks Mike B 01 Dynasty
  8. Thanks for the info on setting the pressure for the tags, thought I saw something in my manual about it but couldn't find a thing. I actually haven't checked if the tag axle comes up, will do that next time I get out to my coach. Since I had a shop check out my air system and they gave it a clean bill of health although they didn't know the HWH system so couldn't check that aspect. I'm forced to think it has to be something with the control box, unfortunately I don't know if the same thing happened the last time my control box went, wish I would have asked the mechanic what the symptoms were of the tag axle not going to travel mode, maybe I have to contact HWH and see if based on the information they can tell me if this is a control box issue.
  9. If the reason the bags look the way they do means it's not come up for travel mode, then yes that's what I'm talking about. Leveling seems to be fine.
  10. Had a look and the pressure was set to about 33 so I increased it to 45 but it still didn't seem to have an impact. The one difference was that the air bags weren't squashed like before, they lifted but they looked malformed and I don't think there was air in them. I took some pictures which I'll post. Also, I only have slides on one side and noticed that the clearance of the rear tires on one side is not as much as on the other, will attach pictures of that too.
  11. I have air leveling Sorry, yes there is a gauge, I totally forgot about it, I will have to check that out. Thanks for reminding me.
  12. They pretty well stay flat. If the air system is empty and is aired up, they remain the same as when the air was let out. If I go to the control panel and add air to the rear, they will inflate so, yes, they do inflate but not on it's own. No, there isn't a pressure gauge in the engine compartment.
  13. The funny thing is, if I use the control panel to add air to the back, they inflate with no problem, it is just when I dump the air and then let the system air up again, the back air bags don't inflate. I don't think there is an air leak, as I mentioned, the air system was checked and no problems were found unless there is something that is related to HWH system that a shop which doesn't know the system might miss, also, I can leave my coach for weeks on end and it stays pretty well at the same level the whole time. Honestly, not sure what to make of this problem. BTW: Didn't notice this before but I'm not talking about the control panel on the dash under the driver side window, I'm talking about the control unit or brain of the system.
  14. I'm having issues with my rearmost air bags not inflating properly, I had my air system checked out and everything is good. About 10 years ago my control unit needed to be replaced because the tag axle was not going to travel mode. At the time, the shop that figured this out never told me what exactly that means but I'm wondering if it meant the rear airbags aren't inflating. The control unit was sent off to HWH for fixing. Now I'm beginning to think this may be what's happening again so I was wondering if these control units from HWH fail easily or frequently? Unfortunately I don't have great access to authorized HWH repair centers where I live so getting it checked is not that easy and I'm not sure if my coach is really safe to drive. Thanks Mike B 01 Dynasty c/w tag
  15. I was a little concerned about it needing to be a copper washer, I have been trying to find one with no luck. I have some metal ones but I don't know if they will be okay to use. Does anyone know if I could use the metal washer I have? Thanks
  16. I'm trying to change the oil on my coach, it's actually the first time I've attempted this cause everyone says its easy and you can save yourself a lot of money. Only problem is, no one mentions that you may not be able to get your oil drain plug out. I'm not sure if corrosion is the problem or if the retard who did my last oil change jerked that plug really tight. Whatever the case, I started soaking it with PB Blaster yesterday evening so I'm hoping that will do the trick. I noticed there is a washer present for the drain plug and looking on the Cummins website under the parts list for my engine it shows a copper washer. Not sure if that's what's on there right now but since that area is exposed to the elements while driving and corrosion can happen, is a copper/steel washer the best thing to be used for the is application or is there a washer made from another material which is better for this application? Thanks Mike B 01 Dynasty
  17. Good to know, I just don't trust any of these shops anymore, it's especially bad here in Canada, most shops up here are crooks. When I had the problem with my control unit 10 years ago they sent it to HWH to be fixed and charged $2500 for a new one. Lucky I had an extended service agreement which covered the cost but still, the guy was a frigging thief. It's funny, just how you said, you wanted the rear checked and they checked the front, here I wanted an oil change and some maintenance like a chassis lube and for some reason he felt the need to check my leveling system. That owner of the shop was the main mechanic but was he a piece of work, he tried to get the control box from a Signature to work with mine cause he obviously had it in stock and wanted to get rid of it and he mucked around for 3 days on it and I asked at one point if he could just bypass it so we could get back on the road but he said no, in the end, guess what he did when he couldn't get the Signature one to work, he bypassed it. He really milked it, probably took in more money in those 3 days than he did in a month. When I think back, it's sickening.
  18. I think the shop was on the level, they only charged me $130 to go over the air bags, ride height valves and make sure there's no leaks in the air system. They didn't touch the HWH system cause that is not their expertise as far as I know. Out of curiosity, when you sent your control box in for repair, did you remove it? If so, how difficult is it to remove and replace? Is it pretty straight forward as in take a picture then unplug a bunch of connectors and when you get it back plug them in again? Thanks Mike B 01 Dynasty
  19. I had my coach in today to get this issue checked out and they couldn't find any problems with the ride height valves, air bags or the air system in general. Now I'm wondering if it could be something related to the HWH leveling system itself, I'm hoping it's not something to do with the control unit as I went through that issue back in 2010 where it was sent to HWH for repair. Has anyone experienced this kind of issue which was related to the control unit? Or does anyone have other thoughts on what might be going on? Thanks Mike B 01 Dynasty
  20. Bob, I'm going on to my 12th year owning this coach and you are absolutely correct about sun damage cause our summers consist of more rain and cloud than sun. If it were possible for rain to cause that damage, you would probably have a winner, but sun, no. Possibly snow burn... LOL Honestly, I think it was a splash and dash paint job, I never noticed it until later but the 3M mask was already gone when I got it and they didn't even do a very good job blending the paint. As I mentioned, it was repainted in several places, I have my suspicions about what might have happened that it was repainted in areas not to mention the various other issues I've discovered over the years but since this was my first coach, I didn't see the tell tail signs that this may not have been the best coach to buy. 21. I unfortunately have a lot of paint work needed on my coach, on the front and rear caps I've got clear coat peeling but I have one really nasty crack on the curb side behind the bedroom window. I'm the 3rd owner of this coach and of course it wasn't until a few years after I purchased it I found out it had been repainted in several areas and those are the ones where the paint is failing. I've had 2 quotes done and I'm not sure if I can trust either shops quote not to mention I live in Canada so everything is stupid expensive in this country anyways. One quote for fixing the crack was $5000 and the other was $5400. They both are fairly close but the thing is, one is charging $13000 to refinish the front cap and the other is charging around $3000. For all the paint work I need, one outfit quoted me $26,000 and the other $14,000. At this point I'm not sure if either of these quotes are realistic and I'm hoping to get some opinions. I'll attach pictures of the major areas that need work to perhaps give these quotes some context. Thanks Mike B 01 Dynasty
  22. Thanks for the responses everyone. Sorry, should have included in my post that it is HWH air leveling. Anyone know if there are any videos around on replacing the valves?
  23. I've recently noticed that when the airbags on my coach inflate the front air bags fill up pretty quick along with the curb side but then on the rear road side the bags take much longer and I don't think they even fully inflate. I have 10 bags and the 2 in the middle at the back looked a little strange, even malformed at the bottom so I used the leveling control panel to add air to the back and road side and the air bags inflated fine and everything looked normal. Anyone know what might be going on here? Thanks Mike B 01 Dynasty with tag axle
  24. Hi Everyone, Over the past year the clear coat on my coach has started pealing off in a big way in a couple places. The areas which need repainting is the front, an area on the side just behind the back bedroom window, an area on the upper part of the back cap behind the ladder and lastly a corner of a slide. The only area that will require more work is the one behind the bedroom window, the fiberglass is actually cracked pretty good there and protruding somewhat. The quote I was given to do all the work is almost $27k, just to paint the front cap alone would be almost $12k. I thought this price was crazy and it goes without saying that I'm getting other estimates, it's just not that easy to find good shops to do the work where I live in Canada but I also wanted to see what others had to say about this price.
