I am installing the dash remote switch to control the Blue Sea automatic charging relay that i recently installed in my 02 Dynasty. On the back of the original battery boost switch there are two white wires on the top right that the wiring diagram says goes to light dimming. On the top left there are two gray wires that also go to light dimming. On the bottom right there is a white wire and an orange wire that the wiring diagram says goes to what is labeled the generator start terminal M2. I believe the orange wire then went to the small left terminal on the original battery boost solenoid. It looks like that wire should connect to the orange wire on the new ML-ACR. I never had a reason to use the original battery boost switch so i do not know when activated if it started the generator. I do not want the new remote switch to have anything to do with the generator. Do i connect the wires at the new remote switch as they were on the original switch or do i need to change something?

I am planning on replacing the dash panel on my 02 dynasty. Has anyone replaced their dash panel that can give me guidance about the to best way to do this job? For example is it a good idea to remove the steering column to get room to work on the panel? Is there enough slack in the wires so the panel can be moved rearward to gain access to the wire connections? Etc Joe Klasch 02 dynasty

leather seat renewal

The pictures on the camera are very good with sharp uniform color. I do not know why the colors of the pictures on the post are different from the camera . I am not very knowledgeable about computers. If someone can tell me how to delete these pictures and the best procedure to post pictures i will try again. Joe Klasch -

leather seat renewal

Our motorhome storage building has been snowed in so i have not been able to get there to take pictures of my renewed seats, to post. If you go to the product web site https://www.leathertouchupdye.com on their home page on the right side of the page click on the' watch us on you tube banner'. The page that comes up has videos of how to renew leather seats. The fifth row down on the right has a video titled "Automotive Leather Repair on a Bolster". The seat shown in that video is very similar to the condition of the seats in my motorhome before i applied the products and the renewed results are what i have with mine. I will post some pictures of my seats when i am able. Joe Klasch -
My motorhome is an 02 dynasty. The seats were becoming very worn looking with many surface cracks in the top layer of the leather where the color layer had flaked off. I was considering having new seat covers manufactured or possibly installing new seats. After doing much research i found that the seat surfaces could be renewed. I purchased the products i needed from a Canadian company called leathertouchupdye. Their webs site is leathertouchupdye.com. They have many videos on how to apply their products that can be found on their web site or on u-tube. I watched several of their videos several times before working on my seats. I followed the instructions and the seats came out looking new! On the underside of the seats is a label that tells the color of the seats. My seat color is called oyster. I believe that is the color for many if not most monaco seats for many years. I sent in a sample of the color to be matched and the color matched perfectly. You can order this color using the number i received without paying a custom color fee. On their order site when it asks for color choose color is on file then at checkout in the notes field type in the number 48033. I ordered 8oz of dye so i would have extra but i only used 4oz to do the driver , passenger and recliner seat surfaces. I mention the name of this company because i have used their products and i am thrilled with the results. Joe Klasch 02 Dynasty

Converting LP Furnace to furnace only thermostat
highsierra37@att.net replied to 1nolaguy's topic in AC, Heating, and Cooling
I have an 02 dynasty with all original equipment. In anticipation of colder weather i recently placed the thermostat in the furnace mode and asked for heating to check that the furnace operated properly. The furnace did not operate. Doing some research i found that the mostly likely cause of the furnace not operating would be a faulty thermostat. I swapped the front thermostat with the rear thermostat and found that the furnace still did not operate. It would be unlikely that both thermostats were faulty so i ruled out a faulty thermostat as the cause of the problem. For the furnace to operate it requires proper propane pressure and proper 12volt power . I checked both and they were normal. With further research i found that the signal from the thermostat goes from the thermostat to the circuit board on the roof air conditioner and then to the furnace. I removed the roof air conditioner circuit board and sent it to a company to see if there was a problem with the circuit board. The circuit board checked out as normal - we replaced a few components just as a precaution and reinstalled the circuit board . The furnace still did operate. At the furnace there are two blue colored wires that send a signal from the furnace and circuit board for the furnace to operate. There are disconnects about a foot from the furnace where the wires can be disconnected. If a jumper wire is connected to join the two blue wires together ,that are going to the furnace, all of the wiring from the thermostat to the furnace is eliminated. When i joined the two blue wires together the furnace started and operated as normal. This told me that the problem was somewhere between the thermostat and the furnace which was not getting a signal to operate. I decided to simplify the system and control the furnace with a simple thermostat that is directly wired to the furnace. I could not find a place where i could mount a thermostat to control the furnace except inside a cabinet near the furnace. from the mounting location i easily ran two new wires directly to the two input wires to the furnace. The new thermostat is out of sight and during the few times the furnace is used i will keep the cabinet door open so the temperature sensing is accurate. It sounds like your new system should have been rewired to operate as the original so this might help with trouble shooting. I still do not know where the problem could be with my original wiring system but i like the simplified system that i now have. Joe Klasch 02 dynasty -
emergency /parking valve

Thanks for the reply's. As usual things are easy when i have the proper knowledge. Joe Klasch -
I am changing the emergency/parking valve on my 02 monaco dynasty. The valve has two air hose fittings that screw into the valve. These are 90 degree fittings with the air hoses attached to the end opposite of the threads. Can someone tell me how to disconnect the hoses from the fittings? I have not been able to determine how to get them apart. Joe Klasch 02 Dynansy 36SL

Steering wheel play after adjusting trw steering gear box When i replaced my steering gear box with a trw gear box i found the input shaft to the gear box had an outer and an inner shaft. The two shafts are pinned together. I found there was loose play between the outer and inner shafts. The outer shaft would rotate about an eighth of an inch before the inner shaft would begin to move. This amount of free play at the shaft resulted in more than an inch of free play at the steering wheel. With the engine running the steering wheel could be moved back and forth this amount before the wheels would have any movement. At the time it looked to me that the outer shaft was just an adapter to change the size of the inner shaft for different applications. I thought that this amount of looseness at the shaft could be reduced to decrease the free play at the steering wheel . My conclusion was that the box that i had installed had excessive looseness at the pin so i removed the gear box and installed a replacement box that dos not have that looseness at the input shaft pin. The recent post about the danger of locking the two shafts together is rather confusing as the two shafts are already locked together. The post also says that looseness at the pin is good - if that is so then free play at the steering wheel could not be eliminated.A better understanding of how the gear box works would be good However In light of this post no one should do anything but replace the gear box if it is not operating properly. When i attempt to start my Dynasty the warning lights on the left side of the dash do not come on and the engine will not crank. The batteries are at full charge and all solenoids are working properly. With the ignition switch in the run position i can jump the terminals on the starter solenoid and the engine cranks but does not start. It seems that the start electrical circuit is not being powered. I have the wiring diagrams but i cannot determine if there is a fuse or relay or where the current goes after it leaves the battery. We are ready to go on a trip so i would like to solve the problem. If any one knows what to look for in checking out the start circuit please call me at 775-853-3344 Joe Klasch

Dynasty wheel alignment

Bob You gave a good explanation of the Monaco watts link. We started with the rear cross bars to see what effect we would get by stiffing up the rear . It has helped quit a bit in stopping the tail wagging the dog effect caused by the very heavy suspended weight of the engine and transmission. I will be installing the front watts link in the near future. Joe Klasch 02 Dynasty
