  1. Tom, I found two ground studs and was able to overhaul both however once all done, tried Gen again and same-o, will only start if booster switch held in. I’ve put hat problem away for now; the solution is an easy fix. Thanks for your input.
  2. Does anyone know where the main ground connection is for the domestic batteries in a 2004 Windsor Monaco? I have traced down a problem starting my generator to a poor supply battery ground. I noticed that I could start the gen when I engaged the battery boost even though the domestic volt level was higher than the truck battery. I tried temporary jumping the domestic battery negative to the truck battery negative and got a normal start every time, so I figure the truck battery ground is better than the domestic one. I crawled under but cannot locate the grounds and all the cables are wrapped in the flex hose.
  3. Yes, I have these dwgs, thanks. Wouldn’t it be grand if they gave you some hint as to where access to these cable connectors they show could be found. Also, in my front dist cabinet below drivers window, there are a mess of cables run over each other with no identification on the connectors; looks like a snakes nest!
  4. Ivan don’t I wish for better and accurate drawings. I have only 3 gen switches, at Gen, on mid dash and in bedroom.
  5. So, an update people; I am fully aware now as too what and how this new inverter / charger works. I know how and where I can make the Gen remote connection to the AGS control unit. Unfortunately I still cannot locate the 3 cables coming from the bedroom remote to the basement inverter cubicle. I have other problems and jobs to complete so this one gets written up for future doings. Thankyou all for your help. JimB2
  6. I have a 2004 Windsor. The generator remote control in the bedroom quit working. This was noticed a few days after having the inverter replaced. I am not sure this is relevant but I add it as a consideration. I cannot return to the service firm which did the job. I am trying to troubleshoot and cannot find any drawings that show this device or where the cabling between it and the generator may run. Has anyone any suggestions or info to share on this subject? 7. Well just to close out this topic, I got a complete driveshaft from transmission to differential. I also got minor repairs to cooling hose and replacement of levelling air valve. Thanks to RV Masters of Houston Tx., one company that wasn’t scared of working on an older RV.
  8. Good news all, RV fixed, tested and driven, ready to pickup. Not sure exactly what was cause (small circuit board inside front panel). We will return to Houston, pickup and continue North, homeward bound, mentally exhausted… will be selling this old girl this spring…we’re getting too old for this stress. Merry Christmas all!
  9. Not a motor problem, txs New batteries, new inverter/converter. RV ran over very rough ground and I am thinking a loose relay, fuse, wire somewhere but they cannot find it.
  10. My 2004 Windsor is laid up in Houston with no 12v electrical getting to the coach. I am 6 hours away in Donna. The service shop I left it with for other work (now completed) has run into a wall. Can anyone recommend a Houston shop with lots of experience on old Monaco’s. It’s at RV Masters now but they are stumped.
  11. Ok, update ladies & gentlemen. I dropped off the RV yesterday to a service company via another tow, this time by Priority Towing, 5 stars for this company, very professional. This was a second request as I had agreed the previous day with “Best Texas Towing” to pick me up at 8 the next morning. They left me high and dry, no contact, no return calls/texts. Do not believe their web site BS. This is a one truck company to ashamed to admit they are too small for my rig. There, got that off my chest. Rig is at RV Masters in Houston. I finally found a company that said “Yes, we can fix all your problems”. What a relief after 3 days of No, Sorry and You have wrong chassis, etc. The drive shaft is replaceable, made new in about 4 hours. The rad hose is minor and I hope the busted air valve is too. on a different problem my inverter/ converter quit after a few quirky things it did. I rebooted it and it failed to restart. The Masters do that! So everything is back on track to get back on the road. I will try add pics of missing shaft area. JimB2
  12. I am hoping tomorrow (Monday) to get some service shop to review my problem and indicate they can fix it. The tow truck operator said he saw one air valve sheared off! I have no air leaks I am aware of, there is still 70psi on gauge. I was able to raise/lower both sides following incident. What air valves are located in this area? That will be one of the items I need to source soon. Just another observation here guys, I was towing a CRV at the time, not a scratch on it!
  13. I was on I69 south when it happened and was able to grab next exit ramp, down onto the service road but could not navigate to the curb and had to stop with traffic at at the lights. The air pressure is still holding at 70psi so there is no air leak in system. There are several companies near by that sell, repair, balance etc drive shafts so I am hoping that is an option. The coolant leak looks to be from a hose that got crushed in the process. The tow to where I am was 30 some miles and cost $1350. I understand my next one to a (hopefully) near by shop will be $850. Any fellow Canadians reading this will appreciate my added costs to the credit card!
  14. Well I have resigned to having to stay here till Monday. The shaft is out along the highway someplace, really hope it has not caused anyone else harm. I am a bit confused on the air line, I heard no air leaking although the rig had a decided slant to the passenger side. I was able to raise it back up, still no air leaks noticeable however I think I remember the compressor gage reading very high, perhaps the part sheared off was associated with pressure dump. Not a concern now as I will not be running motor again till coolant repaired and replenished. I did lots of site visits and phone calls for service but no good results thus far. I am next door to Cummins Houston but they are closed also, the kenworth guy said they wouldn’t work on it, not part of engine. The gens working fine, Whataburger and gas station short walk, no body hurt, so, Happy Thanksgiving all!
