  1. Ken, Thanks for the information! The fact that they used push in fittings will help a lot. AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  2. Jim J, Thanks for your input! I'll keep that in mind once I remove the panel and take a look. When I found the valve on the Monaco Parts list the photo showed that the fittings are 90 degree with the air lines coming straight in from the bottom. Todd, here is the link to the part I ordered. It's on page 173 of the 1/17/2022 Monaco Parts list. It should be the correct part. 3. I have a new "park brake valve" (the valve you push to release the park brake or pull to set) on order for my 2002 Windsor. It has been leaking from time to time when the brake is set, and has gotten worse. It is definitely the valve as I used to be able to jockey it a bit to get the leak to stop. I have not opened up the panel to access it yet and prefer to wait until I have all of the parts I need in hand. Can someone who has replaced theirs tell me if the DOT approved 90 degree air line fittings that thread into the valve body, that came from the Monaco factory are push to release, or if they are a compression fitting? If they are compression fittings, I'll probably want to replace them with push to release. Can someone please tell me the size of the right angle fittings (maybe 3/8" OD tube x 1/4" NPT???) I will need. I have not been able to find this info on the Monaco Parts list. Thanks in advance AlanC2 02 Windsor PST

  5. Todd, Thanks for all of the pics. I ordered the valves, and picked up all of the fittings I would need before I tackled the project. Much to my surprise, non of the fittings, or the 10' section of PEX that I bought were needed. It was a straightforward job, as the valves were apparently changed before, and the threads matched. I pressurized the plumbing and ran some water into the machine, and everything worked as it should without leaks. I will run a load of laundry through when we get to our next destination that has full hookups. Thank you again! AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  6. These valves have std Hose threads. You will have to buy some fittings to convert your existing ones. You will need to get a Pex tool. If your lucky maybe they have already been replaced. Like I said verify with your existing valves for part. First three pics are of the old ones followed by the new ones. Todd, Thanks so much for the pics. I would not have imagined that there was that much room in there. AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  7. JD, Thanks for the vote of confidence. What about the difference in the threads for the connections? How did you deal with that? AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  8. Todd, Thanks again. That's great to know about not having to remove the washer/dryer to replace the valves! Looking at all of the stuff I'd have to remove from my wife's side of the closet, I'm still not sure this is something I want to deal with while on the road. How did you deal with the difference in the threads on the hose hook ups? Thanks! AlanC2 2002 WIndsor PST JD, Thanks for the vote of confidence. 9. Todd, Looking at the closet and thinking about having to move all of my wife's stuff out to take the closet apart and fight the washer/dryer, I think I'm going to wait until we get home. This is the first time I've been able to get away for an extended time in 3 years, as I had to put my life on hold for Covid, and other family issues. I've decided I'm going to enjoy it and carry lots of quarters for campground laundry machines. I will contact you when I get back, because if I did it now, between now and then, I would probably forget what you told me. Thanks. AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  10. Yes, got the video with the part #s. Thanks. AlanC2
  11. JD, Any info you can provide will be great! Thanks. AlanC2 2002 Windsor
  12. We're in our 2002 Windsor PST on our first extended trip in three years, and when I turned on the water supply to the Splendide 2000 (WD802) for the first time since it was winterized in 2020, water immediately started filling up the unit, which indicates that the valves are stuck open. I tried cycling the unit off and on, turning off the water and running a small off balance load in the spin cycle, thinking the vibrations may loosen the valves, cycling the temperature settings through Hot, Cold, Warm, etc. with no luck. Looks like the valves which are no longer available from Splendide will need replacement. Any idea of replacement valves that will work? I know that clothes will have to be removed from the closet to access the panel to slide the unit into the closet for repairs, but would someone who has done this job suggest doing it while on a trip, or wait a couple of months until I get home? I've searched our forum files and have not come up with any answers. Thanks in advance! AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  13. Jim, I was finally able to find an alternator rebuild shop in Baltimore, but apparently there is a parts shortage, so they could not tell me how long it would take. I decided to replace. I called Elreg in Burlington, ON, and he told me that there were none available in Canada. Apparently, Prestolite isn't turning out a whole lot of them. Prestolite Tech Support gave me the number of Fleetpride. They located one in their Pompano Beach location that had been ordered some time ago and not picked up. It's on it's way to me now, and I will get the other one rebuilt to have as a spare. Thanks again! AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  14. Jim, Thanks for this info. Weather permitting, I'm going to crawl under tomorrow and look for a tag to verify the number on mine. It seems that all of the starter/alternator rebuild shops in the Baltimore area have gone with the wind. I'll probably have to replace. Alan AlanC2 2002 WIndsor PST ISC330
  15. Thanks to all who responded. Coach Net contacted a service company who sent a tech out. The tech showed up about 3 hours past the ETA, but that's par for the Eastern Shore of MD. I don't go under my coach without jackstands, and I don't travel with them. He did and he disconnected the alternator. I wound up extending the campground stay by one day and drove home today. I ran the generator and used the inverter/charger, to keep the batteries charged. The Blue Sea ML-ACR worked as advertised, and the Silverleaf system allowed me to accurately monitor the voltage for the 128 mile drive home. Tachometer, Speedometer, Transmission, Gauges, all functioned normally during the drive. Now to find an alternator rebuild shop in the Baltimore, MD area. It seems that they have shut down. I did contact Tech support at Prestolite, and he told me that the numbers I gave him for the 2002 Windsor from the 2022 parts list did not show up in his computer (maybe typos?). After I get the coach unloaded, I'll pull the alternator off and get the number off of it. I did notice when I was feeling around the back side of it while waiting for the tech that it was quite hot in an area. The engine had not been run in two hours, so it seems like there may be something wrong that is more than a failed regulator. Thanks again for the help! AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST Cummins ISC330
  16. I just got off the phone with the Prestolite people. Good news/bad news. Good news is that I should be good to go with the alternator disconnected, using the ML ACR to link the house/chassis batteries, run the generator and use the charger to keep the batteries up. That should get me home. Bad news is that the Leece Neville replacement is no longer available, and I have not been able to find a rebuild shop that is still in business.
  17. Thanks Gary! I'm hoping that will work in my case also! AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  18. Thanks for responding Tom and for all of the info. The Blue Sea has worked great in the past for linking and charging house and chassis batteries to maintain the charge. I've got a 2.5 hour run to get from this campground where I can pull out the alternator and have it rebuilt. I just want to make sure that with the alternator charging wire removed from the alternator, eliminating any output, that the transmission will still shift at the proper rpms. In other words, I don't want to drive home in first gear. Using the ML ACR to link the batteries and the inverter/charger powered by the generator will be more than enough to keep them charged. I don't know where the transmission ECM gets the info for the shift points. Thanks again! AlanC 2002 Windsor PST
  19. Jim, Thanks for responding. That's what I'm hoping, but then I started thinking about whether or not alternator output is required for transmission shifting, etc. Like I said, the 92 Dynasty had an 8.3 mechanical and there was no problem. AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  20. I went to start up our 2002 Windsor PST today to pull out of our campsite this morning to head home, and the voltage came up and pegged the analogue voltmeter, and the Silverleaf showed 18.4 volts. Not wanting to fry electronics or cook a fairly new 8D chassis battery, I pulled from the campsite to a parking lot. In my old Dynasty which had a 8.3 Cummins Mechanical, when the alternator went, I was able to link the chassis and house batteries together and run the generator to keep all charged while I drove home. Coach Net has dispatched a mechanic as I have asked to come and disconnect the alternator, and I was planning on doing the same thing using the Blue Sea ACR and the generator/solar to keep things charged. He has not arrived yet, and now I'm wondering if that trick will work with this engine since this one is electronic and not mechanical. We're down in Crisfield, MD and there's not a place close by where I can get the alternator rebuilt here. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!! AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST Cummins ISC330
  21. Thanks Richard. I'll forward his information to my daughter. AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  22. Thanks Richard and Loel, NRVIA is the way they're going to go to find an inspector. AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  23. My daughter and her significant other, who live in the Tampa area, are looking to buy their first RV and have found a class A motorhome they are interested in that's located near Bushnell, FL. Does anyone know of a good pre-purchase inspector in that area?? I'm up in Maryland, and can't be of much assistance. Thanks in advance. AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
  24. That happened to us a few years ago on our way to the Maintenance Session. When we got there, Monaco techs came to our rig and explained how the outlets are daisy chained. The connection in the one by the galley sink was bad, so none of the others worked. They had it fixed in less than 10 minutes. AlanC2 02 Windsor PST
  25. What unit did you replace it with and was it an easy swap? Tim, I replaced it with a Magnum MS2012. The Trace unit had the auto genstart module built in, but required the RC7-GS (remote) to program it. The Magnum does not have the genstart module built in. It's a separate purchase and requires a generator "sense" wire to operate. Some people have had to run that wire from somewhere else. I found one (unused and not connected to anything) in the bottom of the old Trace unit. Other than that, is was a relatively easy swap. AlanC2 2002 Windsor PST
