  1. I would agree with that based on the experience I have had with mine over the last 18 years.
  2. I have a 2003 Signature with the ISX 525 with 114,000 plus miles. The only engine issues I have had are 2 broken Exhaust Manifold bolts and an EGR Valve that failed. I have owned it since 2006 and have driven it 102,000 miles. According to the Cummins certified mechanic that helps me occasionally these engines will run many miles with very little problems. So far, he's right. We will be leaving in April for another 6-month trip of 9000 plus miles. The key to trouble free miles is staying on top of maintenance and not letting small problems develop into big ones.
  3. I am located in Central Florida (Lakeland Area) and use a Mobile Mechanic that is Cummins Certified and has experience on Motor Coaches. I would use him to inspect the chassis and power train if I was in the market for another coach after my experience with him working on my coach. you can give me a call at 863-602-4685 if you choose to use his services.
  4. I had a similar problem last fall. It was a leaking airline to one of the rear airbags. I agree it is probably a ride height valve but check the airbag air lines very carefully.
  5. Sounds like your drive motor or coupling is not good, I am not able to get at the information I have on mine until later today but I will have a look and see if there is anything there that will help you. I have only had trouble with setting limit switches Rob 2003 Signature
  6. problem solved, hard to believe I could miss a sheared air line to front drive axle airbag on the passenger side. Contractors sealing pavement with lots of equipment running in close proximity so did not hear it leaking. My wife is right, need hearing aids. Bad installation routing and shock absorber sheared it. Lesson learned, trace lines carefully before jumping to conclusions.
  7. Thanks Ray, I will check and see if I can find the box and check fuses
  8. I am pretty sure the issue is in the six pack. Right now am looking at easiest way to bypass six pack. Well aware of dangerous situation under coach and have jacks to prevent incidents. Coachnet is trying to find shop and tow if necessary.
  9. Does not air up in manual, any suggestions to bypass the six pack to get it driveable?
  10. Air Pressure good, no obvious leaks, driver side airs up ok, passenger side no no major air leaks, all air bags replaced 18 months ago, no obvious issues with ride height valves, thinking issue is with solenoid valves or valve. Anyone have a good photo or picture of the six pack showing which solenoid valve is which?
  11. Coach will not air up passenger side air bags front and back, back tires resting on chassis. In level mode about 1/2" clearance between chassis and tires but airbags not aired up. Any suggestions?
  12. I had a similar problem on my 03 Sig with the ISX 525. The fans would run wide open all the time. I disconnected the Sauer Danfoss controller and installed a Wax Valve. When I first connected the Hydraulic lines to the Wax Valve I had them reversed and the fans ran wide open, changed the lines and all was well. The hydraulic fans operate the way they should but kick on at a slightly higher temperature (about 2 degrees F) than before. I did talk to source engineering about adjusting the wax valve but they said more people ruin the wax valve trying to adjust it so for a couple of degrees I left it alone. Just as a matter of interest Cummins was no help on this issue as it was not provided by them on the original manufacture, it was a Monaco install. I still have the 2 electronic controllers if anyone needs one. The Wax valve, so far, has been very reliable.
  13. Thanks for the responses, I have the Wax Valve and will get the fittings required to install it at the earliest opportunity.
  14. has anyone installed a Wax Valve on a 2003 Signature or similar with a Cummins ISX 525HP. If so, how did it work out
  15. I had a similar problem, front zone (living room) was not getting heat, fans were working but no heat. Tried the hammer on the check valve, no luck. That zone had an air lock so loosened the return line and applied a little air to the overflow connection on the filler nozzle. Once the gurgling stopped from air being in the line, tightened the return line and all was well with plenty of heat.
  16. I ended up remodeling the closet floor and that provided the access to the manifold once the the air intake system was out. Taking the radiator out would not have helped much so abandoned that idea. I was able to get at 10 of the 12 Manifold bolts and 2 of the Turbo nuts quite easily. I used a 3/8 drive 90 degree impact with swivel impact sockets to get at 8 of them and a strongarm to get at the 2 on #2 cylinder. I turned the air pressure down to 60psi and tightened a little first and then reversed the impact and they came out with no trouble. I had been soaking them daily with a penetrant for a week before I tried to get them out. Not sure the penetrant did that much good as there was no evidence of penetration on any of the bolts. I undid what I could and put them back in. I had bought a new manifold so I was able to make a jig to ensure the drill bit ended up on center and perpendicular to the broken bolts. I drilled and tapped for a 5/8 NF cap screw and drilled 3 sets of cap screws with a 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4 inch hole in the center to match the center distances of the broken bolts on #1 cylinder and slotted the holes that matched up with holes on # 2 cylinder as I did not know how far the manifold section for # 1 cylinder went into the center section of the 3 part manifold. I started to do the work required underneath the coach but found I just couldn't do it as I got dizzy and a bit nauseous laying on my back and in a confined space. I took it to Cummins in Tampa to change the manifold out. Originally I had taken it to Cummins in Orlando to get a service on the Engine, Generator and to replace the manifold. Turned out to be an exercise in futility as their performance was beyond incompetent. They had the coach for a month, did the service on the engine and generator and repaired the engine AC. I tried many times in the space of 3 weeks to get a definitive answer on when they were going to get at replacing the manifold but was told 'when a technician was available' but no time frame. I asked was it going to be a week, 2 weeks, a month or longer? When a technician is available was the response. I came away from there with a strong impression they just did not want to do the job so I got the coach home and started to prepare it to do it myself. When I got it home the AC was not working and both the Oil Filter and one of the Fuel filters was leaking. At the Bill D's gathering in Tampa, Butch, the General Manager of the Tampa branch was there for the Cummins Seminar and I told him about my experience with the Orlando Branch. He told me to give him a call and the Tampa Branch would make it right. I texted him a week or so later and the next day I got a call from Jesse the service manager to set up an appointment. When I took it in I was able to talk to the technician who was going to be doing the job and explain how the jig was to be set up and the procedure to remove the broken bolts. I had also supplied some 1/4" end mills to ensure the drill bit had a flat surface to eliminate any deflection due to uneven surface. He did use the jig and the end mills and said it worked well. At this time the Manifold is changed and expect to get the coach back early next week as there was a delay on a couple of parts for the AC. At the end of the day, if I had had a pit or was able to get the coach off the ground I would have done the whole job myself. Taking the time to set yourself up and give yourself good access it is not that complicated a job.
  17. Richard, glad you made it home safely and gained a little on the learning curve on your NTU Coach. I had an RVIA inspector come into my storage yard recently to do an inspection on a Class C for a couple of ladies buying it. He never got on the roof or put the awnings out, who knows what else he did not check. I think checking qualifications is a must.
  18. Sorry to hear about Debbie's re-admittance. I am in Mulberry, about 40 miles from the Tampa airport if I can help in any way
  19. our thoughts and prayers are with you and Debbie and trust the surgery will go well.
  20. Thanks for all the responses, it sure helps to get the info before you start troubleshooting. My Coach is at Josams right now but I will get on this when I get it back. I am pretty sure its in the Regulator or Mac valve as it does not appear to have any obvious breaks, tears or pinches. I tried it with the engine running and in Drive. Under normal operation it is inflated when in Drive and not inflated when in Neutral. You can tell pretty quick its working as it hard to close the door when it is inflated.
  21. I am looking for information on the inflatable door seal system, the source of air, what controls it and where the control is
