  1. I wanted to inspect my hoses, air lines, etc on my 1995 Dynasty. As I have many times before, I put 4x4 wood blocks under the jacks and lifted the whole coach.I noticed that one rear wheel pair was lifted higher than the other side by maybe 2 inches. I just had new air bags installed all around and wondered if that might be causing the uneven issue. Do the steel rods inside the shocks actually lift the rear axle? I guess I could figure it out by looking around but I thought I would ask.
  2. I am 78 and my Monaco Dynasty 36' is a 1995 model. I've put 45.000 miles or so on the coach in the 14 years I've had it but I haven't gone anywhere in the coach in 2 years even though everything works. I have it in my head that all of those hoses that run the length of the coach are vulnerable to age deterioration and that I'll end up stranded a long way from home when a hydraulic or air brake hose bursts. I am confident that this fearfulness is more about me than the coach but I need some back stiffening. Does anyone have an informed opinion about this issue? I live in the Phoenix area. The coach is always garaged, and there is no rust on the chassis. Thanks for your opinion.
  3. I have had 2 shock absorber upper mounting pins break off on my old Dynasty. A friend says this was a common failure with Monacos made in the 90s. I took the first problem to Freightliner Oasis and they fixed it but it was a jerry-rig. At this point I don't know how to proceed. Can anyone point me to a write up on how someone fixed this problem? Thanks.
  4. I need to remove the 1/4" governor air hose on my Haldex Pure Air Plus air dryer, with the engine running, to see if my air dryer air leak stops. I'll have 20 ton jackstands under the rear frame. The transmission will remain in neutral. Can I get in trouble doing this carefully?
  5. Ivylog, I see you're down on Michelin. What brand do you buy?
  6. My '95 Monaco Dynasty's air horn has been failing for awhile and is now kaput. The fuse is OK. The attached picture shows what I believe to be the air horn solenoid. As you can see no wiring can be seen. It appears that I could access the wiring by either (1) removing the dash gauge panel or (2) removing the upholstering that is just above knee level from the driver's seat or (3) I might also be able to remove the phillips head screws that appear to mount the solenoid in the generator bay and pull it forward to show the wiring. What appears to be the solenoid here is on the driver's side of the generator and above the top of the generator cage. I am uncomfortable doing any of this without asking for advice first. If anyone has a clue about how to proceed I would be forever grateful. Thanks, Pete.
  7. My Sam's Club 8D starting batteries don't even last 2 years anymore. Since I cannot manage these things by myself anyhow, maybe 2 smaller batteries in parallel might be a better way to go. Or - maybe a better quality 8D would be the ticket. I have a '95 Dynasty and would appreciate your ideas.
  8. My 20 gal. (Home Depot) air compressor died today and I need to replace it to get my coach tires checked. I have been waiting, in the past, for the 20 gallon unit to get up to full pressure to air up 22.5 tires that were only 5#, or less, from being fully inflated. I am imagining I would be better served with a 3-6 gallon tank. I rarely use a impact wrench. What do you guys use?.
  9. I am trying to replace both (original) Dometic heat pumps (620215.421) on my 1995 Monaco Dynasty. I have contacted Dometic twice and PPL once and received three different recommended part numbers. I don't use the electric heat and so only need straight A/Cs. My thermostats are both 3105356.004 although one also controls the propane furnace. I had originally planned to do this myself but do not have access to a forklift and with the confusion over part numbers I might need to have a professional installer make the product selection. I live in the Phoenix area. Any knowledgeable advice regarding installation shops or part numbers would be greatly appreciated. Would my 7.5KW generator be able to handle two 15,000w units that would be an upgrade from the 13,500w units? Thanks in advance for the help.
  10. I have had this problem with the tach bouncing when the genny is running. In my case if you turn on your running lights the tach will quit bouncing. My problem was a voltage regulator that poorly handled the hand off of the load from the genny to the alternator. Every time the load shifted the tach jumped.
  11. I have seen plastic bushings like that where the rear rv? levelers attach to the frame.
  12. Running the new thermostat wiring for my 1995 Dynasty would be very difficult. Do the new units have controls on the units themselves, that I could get to by reaching for the ceiling to control A/C.
