  1. I had mine done at a muffler shop after 1st repaired generator extension failed. I had the shop weld the Camco Gen-Turi adaptor tip so it will easily hook up whenever I needed to use the exhaust extension.
  2. Check Rv Trader and other sites to get comparable prices. $56k seems a little high for a 2002.
  3. Here in Colorado, we have to get an emissions test every year. Does anyone think that The Ugly Fix will be discovered during the EMISSIONS test?
  4. Sounds like mine. I have a chain with a turnbuckle underneath going around the slide rail and frame rail. One slide latch works sometimes. I do not trust the slide out latches and thus the chain, one less of many problems.

    Solar Myth

have considered solar several times over the years but every time I do I decide the cost out ways the benefit. Mind you we're not big time boondockers. It's usually just for a few days now and then. No one in this thread has really addressed the cost. No one has addressed the weight of the panels either, at least not in this thread.
  6. Many of us up north (I am in Colorado) have nearly 100 gallons of diesel or more sitting in our my motorhomes in storage until the 1st trip. I think I am with Vegaman19760 on this one. I believe the average cost of each gallon was around $2.25.
  7. I believe 2013 is the cutoff for Ram Diesels with no DEF. My bro in law has a 2012 with no def.
  8. My ABS also is on all the time. Have to prioritize what needs fixing, so far in 25k miles haven't had a problem. The motorhome has taught me to be a defensive driver and aware of my situation more than anything else I have driven.
  9. Drivers side fell off years ago (2014) and now passenger fell off in September. This is my 2nd replacement and Ramco can usually tell what kit you need by your year and model. $34 was the price but brace yourself for shipping...........$27 in my case for Colorado! I saw units on E-bay (with free or low shipping) but decided the factory for this one. I plan on using Gorilla tape which held up the temporary blind spot mirror purchased from Wal-Mart while on last trip. Ramco's phone number is 574-266-1455
  10. Seems to me when I fill from the drivers side I can get more fuel in the tank every time versus the passenger side. My fuel gauge needle goes way past the full mark which I love. Just got back from a 2300 mile trip on mostly flat land pulling a toad and mileage was very good with cruise control at 60. Noticed just a 3 to 5 mph higher speed and mileage goes way down.
  11. Slow air dumping helped me save fiberglass damage. I know this is common sense but make sure your front tires are pointed straight ahead!
  12. Hi Ivylog. You also have to be a Plus member which is $100 cost per year. I recoup that charge fairly quickly. Costco and some other grocery based gas stations like the family of Kroger/ King Soopers/ Ralph's, Safeway and BJ's etc., you will only get 1% cashback but there are plenty of others where 5% is accepted and I love the 3% Sam's gives cash back for most in store purchases. Here is some of the small print. Category Percentages for Eligible Purchases 5% CASH BACK ON FUEL AT GAS STATIONS For each Reward Period, you will earn 5% Cash Back on your first $6,000 spent on Eligible Purchases at Gas Stations. Thereafter you’ll earn 1% Cash Back on Eligible Purchases for the remainder of that Reward Period. “Gas Stations” (or fuel stations) are generally merchants identified by their MCC as “Service Stations” or “Automated Fuel Dispensers.” Gas Stations do not include merchants of aviation or other non-automotive fuels. For a list of exclusions, please log into your account at www.samsclubcredit.com/login or call the phone number on the back of your Card.
  13. You must like your inside ice cold.. I haven't seen a Diplomat of 2004 vintage with 3 roof A/C's. I know this modification can be done but the original system isn't set up for 3 roof A/C's. You need 50 Amps for 2 roof top A/C's to run full on.
  14. RIkadoo, hopefully he probably had a bidding war, similar to what is currently happening with single family homes!
  15. Thank you for your answer because I was thinking of going back to the original engine fan that came with the rig. My fan is always on too being a rear radiator.
  16. I have the fan from Source Engineering in my RR 2004 Diplomat 8.3, 330 HP. Like it most of the time except for downhill driving. I am talking Colorado and other western state downhill passes. Seems like I have less engine braking then with the original fan. Anyone else with a Source fan notice a difference?
  17. Yes thank you for the wonderful site. I look forward to the daily email every morning just like my daily crossword puzzle. My question is, "How do you defray the costs of maintaining the site?" I can donate to help with the costs if need be.
  18. jjunio 222 thank you for the itemization and jogging this 60 year old memory. Dennis also thanks for the suggestion about talking to the manager. Just spent $$$ on tire inflation sensors and Norcold still working. Want to do the change over before full-timing though. Slowly getting there.
  19. $113.69 smallest and final payment. I don't remember a check in the $300 range. Darn Home Depot July sale is over. Had a RF18 for $998 stainless steel. Have to wait for the next sale. Redhorse819 I hope you had full coverage insurance!

  21. I have the same coach, same year PDQ. Sure wish mine looked as nice as yours! It should fly out the door @ 38K.
