My husband and I have been full-timing since we retired over 9 years ago and still love it. Since we also sold our house we had to pick a state to declare as our domicile. You can stick with the state you're currently in or the big three are South Dakota, Florida and Texas and we chose South Dakota since there is no state income tax and we pass through occasionally. We use a mail forwarding service and they helped us register our motorhome and car and fill out paperwork for SD driver's licenses. We know someone who uses a relative's address for their mail and another who uses a UPS store. Since we pay our bills online I only get mail about once a month when I request it and we pay extra to have our mail scanned and I get an email with a picture. We've used a spare tire carrier from Roadmaster for years. It is 10" from the back of our Diplomat so air still gets to the radiator. Of course if we ever have a flat we would still call Coach-Net but at least we're not waiting for them to find a tire in our size. Patricia Neuzil '06 Diplomat

We just replaced our old Trav'ler with the updated version and were told this one can be serviced by authorized people and doesn't have to be sent back to Iowa. The main reason I wanted to stick with DISH is for the automatic recording of our favorite shows. I don't have to search for shows and we skip the commercials. We also don't have unlimited fast streaming.

We were warned about this road being terrible going east from Kingman to Ash Fork so last fall we drove the old Route 66 and it was a good drive. Last spring we drove I-40 going west and don't remember the road being bad. Patricia Neuzil '06 Diplomat

Chuck, we were a little worried about that as well but were told that Roadmaster had talked to Cummins and was told the clearance should be fine. The carrier is about a foot from the radiator grill and my husband says he hasn't noticed any change in the temp from before. Patricia Neuzil

We carry a spare using a Roadmaster spare tire carrier. Obviously if we have a blowout we can't change it ourselves but at least we won't be waiting on the side of the road so long while roadside assistance locates a tire and charges us a small fortune. '06 Diplomat Patricia Neuzil

We have used Garmins for years and now are using the RV780 version. It's not perfect but I don't think any of them are. It's easy to program the device itself but many people use Garmin Basecamp online and import it to the device. Patricia Neuzil '06 Monaco Diplomat

We just had a FlexArmor roof coating put on our '06 Diplomat and they repaired a couple of soft spots first where they said the wood had shifted a bit during movement through the years so if it's on ours I'm sure it's on your Dynasty. Tricia Neuzil

Our windshield cracked repeatedly so we wanted it fixed properly by RV Glass in Coburg since they would dry-fit the new one and find out what was causing the cracks. (It turned out that our front cap was a little skewed so a fiberglass shop removed fiberglass from one corner and added fiberglass to the opposite corner) We spent the winter in Arizona and didn't go to Oregon until the late spring and we didn't tape the windshield at all even though the crack was top to bottom. When they removed the windshield the whole thing was still in one piece so I wouldn't worry about it. RV Glass did an amazing job! Tricia Neuzil '06 Diplomat

My husband stuck the phone up there and took a few pictures and saw that one of the wires had gotten crimped so he re-wired it and now it works great. It was replaced last year and apparently the installer was a little careless. I want to thank everyone for the suggestions.

We have a 2006 Monaco Diplomat. Last April we got a new Brisk front roof A/C. It worked fine for a couple of months but then started to have what my husband calls a ''Sometimer Issue". It comes on but won't stay at the set temperature. Sometimes we have to set the control clear down to 50f before it starts and it may stay at 72-76 but it's not consistent. He has opened the breaker panel and the hard start box and checked all the wiring but can't find anything wrong. The back A/C works fine. Can someone help? Patricia Neuzil '06 Diplomat

We have an '06 Diplomat and had replaced 3 windshields in 4 years and the last one cracked again only two weeks after we had it replaced. We used RV Glass in Coburg (but they also have a shop in Phoenix) to dry fit a windshield to find out why it kept cracking. A fiberglass shop ended up removing some fiberglass in one upper corner and adding fiberglass in the opposite upper corner. It took 4 tries before the windshield fit correctly and it's been fine ever since. We were really impressed with the RV Glass technicians.

We replaced ours with a double induction cooktop five years ago and it's worked great. He used an extension cord to plug into the washer/dryer outlet and we had a granite piece installed to cover the area now vacant so everything lays flat. One bonus is that we now have space underneath to hold the stove and sink covers. Tricia N. '06 Diplomat
