  1. Upon further checking ... I did find a reference that the sensors use CR1632. and there is a Youtube video as well. But this discussion is very good for future reference of another system ... should I need it. For those you have used the Tire-Safeguard system ... and REPLACED the batteries, would you be so kind to tell me what battery is used for the flow through sensors. We have 5 of the 6 sensors not reporting. We had called support last year to get replacement for the toad and was told that we could upgrade to the new system they were selling. Decided not to do that at the time and to re-think maybe going to a alternative system for the toad. Called them the past couple of days and left a voice mail so we could find out what type of battery was used .... and no call-back. This morning I sent a email to support@tiresafeguard.com and it bounced back as unknown. Sounds like we did make the right decision not to purchase if they have gone out of business. And instructions on how to replace them would be appreciated as well. If I can get a system working on all 6 tires by replacing the batteries it would be more cost effective for me than purchase of another system. Regards, Pat D. 02 Diplomat 40' PBT
  2. What I do is turn the key to the accessory position ( to the left ). Hold down the air dump switch … AND most importantly, press down ‘slightly’ on the parking brake. That will dump the air quickly. On my '02 If I don't have the key in the accessory position it 'sounds' like it has dumped the air, and the air guage looks correct, but you can tell by the wheel well to tire that the couch has not dumped. I have a small piece of plastic tubing that has a slit in it to wrap around the shaft that I use under the parking brake to prevent any of the 4-legged fur kids stepping on it and releasing the brakes. I store the piece of plastic tubing in the cup holder next to the parking brake. By using the tubing I don’t have to control the amount of hand pressure to dump the air, and it’s high enough not to release the brakes. Pat D. ’02 Diplomat 40’ PBT
  3. I want to do a follow-up on my original post. I appreciate everyone's comments and suggestions. After further investigation, and checking on getting another door, we decided to try and 'fix' the door for the time being. We were able to get another metal hinge bracket, that is attached to the refrigerator itself. Although we didn't really need it as that was not the cause of the door falling off. As others have found the failure of the door was the plastic on the door itself. The cause was probably due to age and having too much weight in the door. We fabricated metal to replace the plastic on the side. I'm attaching pictures of both the failure, and our temporary 'fix'. The door closed OK, but was a bit 'wobbly' We discovered today that the door hangs just a bit lower than the left. Looking at the old metal bracket, there was a bushing and we moved that to the new bracket. The lower right hand side door. still hangs a bit lower. Once we get back to our home base in 2 months we'll take a closer look at the doors and compare them when we can remove them. A residential refrigerator will still be considered when we have the time and resources ( man-power ) to replace it. Where we are at our summer location doesn't lend itself to replacement at this time unless we have a catastrophic failure. We are limited to what we can replace it with due to the Norcold in a slide with low ceiling height. Again, I do appreciate all the suggestions. Regards, Pat D. ’02 Diplomat 40’ PBT
  4. I appreciate the information ... however I read the RF18 height is 68 7/8o" ... won't fit. Regards, Pat D. ’02 Diplomat 40’ PBT We have considered that as well. I remember seeing a post recently that someone had parts ... will have to look for that post again. Appreciate the suggestion. Regards, Pat D. ’02 Diplomat 40’ PBT
  5. Well I guess a residential refrigerator is in the future. Very Near Future that is ! We have a ’02 Diplomat 40’ PBT. The Norcold 4 door refrigerator is in the slide next to the cook top . Well, the right hand refrigerator door came off last night. Looks like the bottom hinge that is in the door frame weakened. Right now all items that were in the door have found new places to be. Door is ‘on’, and duct taped as a reminder NOT to open it. We have added wood at the bottom of the hinge area with screws to support it, and have screwed wood to the bottom frame with pressure on the door to prevent it from pulling out. I’m hoping others who have replaced their Norcold in the same type of configuration can tell me which residential they decided on. I’m expecting it would be a 2 door, either top or bottom freezer. We don’t have a problem with the door swing as we have an opposing slide so while parked we have plenty of room. We have a Freedom Combi Inverter/Charger which is modified sine wave. We ARE limited to height because of the slide. See attached picture. I have downloaded several articles from the files section regarding the Norcold / replacement, etc. Any additional information / recommendations are great appreciated. 6. We have a '02 Diplomat 40' PBT with a Jensen backup camera that is degrading. Looking for suggestions for a replacement that might be plug and play. I know several of you on the forum have replaced your camera but I didn't find any references to the brand you replaced. it with. The camera minimally 'works' . Lots of lines and not 'sharp' display. The audio still works with the camera. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. ( I may not have introduced ourselves on the this 'new' forum. We are Pat and Mick from Northern California. Use the RV to go to dog shows ( Great Danes ) and to our property in Oregon where we use it as our home for 3-6 months a year ) . Regards, Pat D.
  7. I received this as a post-card type document addressed to our P. O. Box ... not in an email. We have had DNS since 1995. Will be very sad to have it go away. We DO now have DVR capability that we didn't have a few years ago, so we can now record different channels at the same time. Not the best solution, and I will miss the East and West coast feeds. We do get local stations from Sacramento, and our property in Oregon is close enough that when we are there we still get the Sacramento stations. I don't know if we have any recourse other than changing providers ... which at this point I'm not willing to do. Regards, Pat D. '02 Diplomat 40' PBT
  8. You have a good history with DirecTV. I would call back and talk to the retention group. THEY should be able to assist you especially since you have been with them since 1996. I have been with them since 1995 and also have East and West Coast feeds. I also have payment history going back to 1995 and can tell them exactly how much I have paid them over the years. Fortunately we still have a stick house at the same location, and are close enough when in Oregon to continue to get even local stations. I would hate to lose the east and west coast feeds. I don't know about Dish if you can get East and West coast feeds with them. Best of Luck .. keep us informed. Regards, Pat D '02 Diplomat 40' PBT
