  1. Before you buy a new touch pad, take apart the control panel. Remove the board assembly and reconnect the cable. Now test each switch. If it all works, you have a touch pad issue. My bet it will be the switches. It is apparent that over time the internal contacts of the switch get a non conductive coating and no longer work. BTW, the switching mechanism is a tiny disc. I had a few switches that were dead and replaced them all. I'm skilled in electronics devices and soldering so it was NBD for me. If you are not, you could buy the parts and find a local geek to do the work.
  2. I had a insurance replacement of a windshield at Speedy Auto Glass. I selected a location near to me that was said to be able to do the work. The windshield (from USA) was shipped here first. Then the location reported they could not so the work and directed me to an alternate location. This location had larger facilities that could accommodate larger vehicles and had experience installing windshields on buses and motorhomes.. The windshield was reshipped to them and subsequently installed. SO...not all Speedy locations can do the work.
  3. I am also interested in the RV application of Starlink and signed up for beta (Toronto). I got the invitation to buy a home unit but did not sign up. I have been following Starlink news and it seems that there are some regulatory issues regarding mobile broadcasting. Applications have been made etc. There will also be a mobile version of the hardware. There have been hints of lower hardware prices and higher speeds. I'm hoping it is all resolved by late summer so I can get set up for a winter in the south.
  4. BTW, you won't find any "swedges" if you go looking. Look for "swages", "swage sleeves" or perhaps ferrules.
  5. I bet it is simply the switch on the brake pedal arm. Mine would do the same and I could get it working by tapping/touching the switch. The switch is a simple open contact and seems to get some layer of corrosion that is enough to prevent current flow. I never did get around to replacing the switch with something better. Good luck.
