  1. Mike, I had a '94 Dynasty with that same generator and IMHO they are junk. Make sure the oil level is full. It will shut down if the oil is low. These are air cooled generators that do not get enough air flow to keep them cool, especially if you are not running down the road. LP has oil added to it to lubricate the pumps that are used to fill LP tanks. If you happen to get LP from a place whose tank is low on LP you can get an abundance of oil pumped into your tank when you have it filled. That oil will clog up the fuel regulator and caused me to have the same problem that you are having. Remove the fuel regulator (it's somewhere on the generator - my generator was at the front of my coach under a sheet metal cover that had to be removed to get at it). Carefully take the fuel regulator apart and make notes or take photos of how it goes back together and be careful not to damage the gasket. Clean every part and the inside of the regulator case with carburator cleaner or brake cleaner, reassemble an reinstall and this should resolve your problem. While you are working on the generator I would check the spark plug and clean or replace it if needed. If you have not already done so, check and clean the air cleaner and use some carburator cleaner on the carburator as well. Feel free to contact me off-line. I believe that I have 1 or 2 new exhaust gaskets that I can send to you. In my experience these generators were okay to use while travelling down the road to keep the roof A/C units running and that is about it as they are too tempermental and noisy to be used for boondocking. I ended up buying a good sized gasoline portable generator that I would keep in the enclosed car trailer that I usually towed behind my coach to use while boondocking. Good luck. 2. Bob, I have never camped in Rhode Island so I can't help you with that. The campground that I mentioned that is near the Mohegan Sun Casino is near where CT Rt. 2 intersects with CT 495. CT 495 will take you Southeast down to 95 and you would be in Rhode Island in about 45 minutes. Just a thought. Bill C Jr.
  3. Bob, I am a former CT resident (moved out 1 year ago). My suggestion is to take I-95 North into NJ and then get on the Garden State Parkway (exit 9). The Garden State Parkway is a toll road but has EZ Pass. Take the Garden State to 287 & across the Tapan Zee/Como bridge (EZ Pass toll) and then take 684 up to I-84 in Danbury, CT and take I-84 East. Note, you cannot take the Merit Parkway with a Motorhome due to low bridges and a very winding road. You can then take I-84 across CT to the Mass Pike (I-90) east and then take 495 or 295 to head north. Unless you are planning on going into Boston, I would avoid I-95 through Boston. In CT you can get on 691 to take you to Central CT and I-91 North or South and to Rt. 9. You can also connect with I-91 in Hartford. There are not any campgrounds in CT along the I-84 route that I can think of that will accomodate a large motorhome but there is a Cabella's in East Hartford. If you are goind any site seeing in CT or visiting either of the Casino's I would be happy to recommend places to see or a nice campground near the Mohegun Sun Casino. I highly recommend that once you hit the New Hampshire state line that you work your way over to Route 1 and take Route 1 into and through Maine. Bill C Jr
  4. John, If your 2000 Diplomat uses the same RVA Jack system as a mid-1990's Dynasty I have a complete set of all 3 jacks that I would sell to you. I believe that they are used but they could be new. I'd have to dig them out to check. I am located near Denver, NC. $500 and they are yours. Bill Bill C Jr Former owner of a '94 Monaco Dynasty
  5. To clarify further, we are looking to purchase a used Class C in the 26' - 32' size range and do not want something built on a Sprinter type chassis. We attend car shows and trailer cars to shows so this is not a situation where we can downsize a toad. We must have a minimum of a 6,000 towing capacity and it appears that many are only rated for 5,000 lbs, which I understand is often due to the strength of the chassis extension for the motorhome body. Appreciate the links. There is some helpful information there. Bill C Jr
  6. Thanks. I forgot to add that we need something that can tow 6.000 lbs, which rules out the View but good to know that you had a positive experience with a Winneabago. Can I ask what year your Winnie was? Bill C Jr
  7. We are not full-timers. We sold our older Dynasty and I do not want another Class A coach. I need a coach that is easy to service, less expensive to service and maintain, smaller in size. I know this is a Monaco forum primarily for DP's but I know that some of you have had Class C's or have friends with them. I would appreciate some recommendations on brands to avoid due to quality issues as well as recommended brands and thank you in advance for any input that you can provide. Thanks in advance.
