  1. I have not seen where you can jump in and out of the RV service. I'm not even sure how necessary that is. This summer I met several people on the road that simply took their home unit on the road with them and they appeared to be working fine with no added cost. I only subscribed to the RV feature because you can get the setup in a week or so. A new fixed Phoenix customer is looking at a 12-18 month wait for activation. I do admit that right now my RV is stationary in Phoenix and that is where the evening speeds are abysmal. I get on average 80mbs download during the day but only 4-5mbs from about 6pm-11pm. That speed would be fine for normal internet usage but makes streaming TV nearly impossible. I attribute the lousy speed to the Starlink RV contract that states you will be throttled during prime periods. I will be leaving the RV world soon and I was checking into selling my system. It appears that it is a very hard proposition again because of the long wait periods for new customers to be accepted. I think my only hope will be to find an RV customer that could qualify quickly.
  2. I have been running V2 Starlink for a year now powered with an '03 Trace Inverter. 100% fine. That being said I am very disappointed at the throttling hit that the RV users take even though we pay MORE for the service.
  3. WOW! I just looked up the keypad on Ebay. They certainly carry a hefty price tag (north of $300) but once one is used to using one it is pretty hard to do without. The fact that they can still be found (the old original small button) amazes me.
  4. The dash WARNING light has been on for 5 years now on my '03 Executive. Thoroughly gone over by Cummins (sure) and by Masey Diesel in Phoenix. All systems nominal. $1500 poorer and the light is still on. I have the same entry in my manual as Dr4Film and it is just so horribly vague it is not possible to trace. I guess as long as she runs she runs. Ken
  5. Grrrrr. The last thing you wanted to hear. Mine was the same hours on the door panel 2 minutes on the adjustment.
  6. A d*** fine looking ride. Good luck with the sale. BTW: Is your coach a pusher? I was under the impression that Knight were gas engine.
  7. I think the new fridge looks great. A few years back I went with the RF18 but being single the one you picked would have worked great for me. Good luck
  8. Pete I don't know where you are located but I had the same happen. In the Phoenix area the best place for older Monaco work is Masseys Diesel. They are quite versed in the house repairs as well as chassis repairs and of course general engine maintenance (lof). Not the cheapest but they do good work. Best to you Ken
  9. Occasionally my TriMark goes out of sync. This happens a couple of times a year. The fix for me is to wait until the system settles and then enter the full 4 digit UNLOCK code. I usually don't get a response but then when I hit the old 555 I get the satisfying sound of locks engaging all around the coach. Usually to unlock all I hit the first 3 numbers and then the number "9". I don't know what causes the sync issue. Good luck Ken
  10. Brilliant adding another vent!!! Props to you.
  11. I am not up on A/C math like you are Tom but as currently configured my coach has 3 13,500 units. I live in Phoenix and my coach is next to the house and receives ZERO shade. I regularly go out to tinker on it and I can maintain 74 degrees comfortably in the 110 Phoenix heat and at 74 degrees the units cycle so that makes me happy. 15k units would be so much the better I assume. I believe that I did not upgrade sizes because I was told that the plenum wouldn't not handle the additional air flow anyway. In '03 Monaco was only using a single plenum from front to back (at least in my coach). BTW: 3 a/c or not it takes hours to go from 110 inside the coach to 74. I usually plan ahead my tinkering and will turn the air on the night before if I am going to be tinkering in the coach. If I know that that I will be in and out of the coach for several days I leave it at 82 at night and 75 or so during the day. That is all handled automatically with my 3 MicroAir thermostats. Sorry I had to slip that in. Boy I just love those MicroAir units. Ken
  12. If you give me a day or two. I will need to swing down the ceiling decor ( only takes a couple of minutes ) and I will get a couple measurements from there. Currently I am not doing much roof work for health reasons. That should give you a good approximation of where to look. I think I remember the tech that did mine saying Monaco had made it obvious inside the ceiling decor or on the roof as to where a 3rd unit would be mounted. I just retuned today from 2 1/2 months on the road and I have a few things on the me-need-to-do list before I can get to the measurements. Ken Sorry I did not ask. Was Monaco adding 3rd a/c units in 03 to the Windsor? I know that Dynasty, Exec, Sig had it as a factory option that is why it was marked out at build time even if the option to add the unit was not chosen.
  13. My '03 41' Exec came with two factory units. I was considering removing the koolmatic in the kitchen for a 3rd unit. I went to RV Renovators in Mesa AZ and they said my idea was terrible as the roof was not braced properly. They informed me that Monaco at the time was putting the 3rd a/c bracing in the roof for future upgrades. The hole is in the center of the coach so it runs right into the duct work. They cut through the roof and dropped the new unit it. They ran the power cable through the duct work and then over to the circuit breaker panel. I believe they unhooked the receptacle for the block heater which I've never used anywhere. End of story the 3rd a/c made all of the difference in the world. Ken
  14. Hi Paul, Another thought on a cupholder. I have an Executive one year older than you but it seems the dash didn't change too much. I made use of the built-in slide out tray that didn't seem to serve much purpose. In the inside of the drop down door I attached a magnet and also attached one on the bottom of the slide out tray. This was necessary because the tray just wanted to slide in and out and not lock in place. I then shopped for a cup holder at an auto parts store, secured it and woohoo it stays in place for all of my journeys. As soon as I land I remove he cups, thermos, etc. push the slide in and close the door. It is out of the way until the next journey. Good luck Ken
  15. Don't discount that the bad mixing valve, if that's the problem, may be the mixing valve built into the AquaHot itself. I have replaced two over the years. When they go they seem to go quickly without much warning. Any certified AquaHot technician can replace the valve. Since the unit is new to you it is probably a good time to have the annual service done anyway. Ken
  16. Most folks that I have met purchase the Progressive that hangs off of the shore power pedestal. Clearly that is meant to go inline before your ATS. Although I have an inline Progressive I copied the same theory and placed it before the ATS. I am with Tom I don't think the genny will ever produce a surge that will take out your coach internals. My shore power cord actually goes first into a first generation Autoformer that then feeds the Progressive that then goes into a Technology Research ATS that has a built in surge guard of it's own. Overkill, maybe, but it all works.
  17. My Traveler originally came setup for DirecTV. When I switched to Dish I was able to use the Traveler motor and control box but I had to buy a new satellite dish and LNB arm/head. The swap was quite easy and control box was easy to reprogram. If you fire up your control box so that the dish raises up you should see the dish marked with DirecTV or Dish. Hopefully in your case you will get out cheap and it will already be a DishTV setup.
  18. I got lucky when I had the same symptoms and all I needed was a new mixing valve. Easy to get to and not very expensive. Several of you mentioned cleaning the burn chamber. Is that something that can be done in place or does the AH need to be removed from the coach? Mine is old circa, '03', and I believe it is model AH-100-2S or close to that. Thanks gang, Ken
  19. I did mention that all of this was ultimately installed so that I could monitor the coach for the safety of my pets. I even have two Arlo cameras to watch the furry friend. By no means is what I use the ultimate solution. Just one dude's suggestions. Cioa Ken
  20. Only one device so I connect my router to the phone and then it is as many connections as the router will support. Because I am a tech geek I had 14 devices in the MH at last count. All working fine on the Visible hotspot. I have a dandy little router that will connect with wifi or tethered or bluetooth to the phone. Visible only sees it as one device. Example I have 3 MicroAir thermostats that are connected by wifi 24/7. This is the router that I have been using for 3 years now. Two of my RV friends are sporting the same combo. This router connected to Visible. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GBXMBQF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 BTW: This router was initially selected because it will connect through wifi to hotel and rv park closed systems that only allow one connection. Perfect, connect the router (one connection) and then connect your phones, tablets, laptops, etc. to the router. The only reason this subject is still in this original thread is that I do all of this to monitor the coach so that I can protect my pets when I am not there. For simplicity even when I have my Starlink up I connect the router to it so that I don't have to change all of my devices. I am also positive that if you really check into Cricket it throttles after a certain amount of data. No good for streaming all you can eat TV. Visible tells you right up front it is 5MB and that is a very good speed for most. And $25 a month is awfully hard to pass up.
  21. VISIBLE a subset of Verizon only costs $25 a month for true unlimited data/phone/text. I have one that I only use as a hotspot. It only runs data at 5mb but that will stream one television just fine and any other text/phone data takes nearly zero data speed. I and other friends have been using it as a hotspot for over two years now. I have even used it as my main internet connection at home when my main service has gone out. I have to found another phone service that is truly unlimited i regularly stream 20-30GB of data watching TV every month. Some old phones will work with the sim but if you don't have one Visible has phones in all price ranges. My daily driver phone is Visible and my hotspot is Visible. You may wonder why I have two. Well I need to leave one running in the coach if I want to have all of my wifi devices truly on. https://www.visible.com/ Ken Note: Because I do land in areas with zero cell service I am now sporting a Starlink system but that is a different story.
  22. I have a compartment that only reveals the side of the 3 tanks. Lucky for me the gray tank and the pipes and the cracked pipe were on the top. I reached around with the mirror and could see the crack. My fix worked but I sure like Tom Cherry's idea as well. The tough part was getting the brush/goop and enough of it on the backside of the pipe while holding the mirror at the same time. Of course I think all of us here are part contortionist. Why tough? Because of course there were two pipes an inch or so apart to thread the tape through. If I wasn't smelling it outside I might never have looked in that spot. Happy Sniffing Ken I wasn't aware of that product but I think I will pick some up. Thanks Ken
  23. I had a similar odor (inside and OUT). After replacing all of the under sink air admittance valves I was at Witts end. Quite by accident and with the help of a hand held mirror I was able to see where the black pipe (drain) going into the top of my gray tank had slightly separated/cracked. The ultimate fix was more time consuming than I would have imagined but at the end of the day (and two years) no odors. I believe because of the location of the crack the final solution was several wraps of Flex Seal tape and then generously coated with Flex Seal paint on goop over the tape. Ken
  24. I second the thank you. I completed the rod adjustment that Bob mentioned and I now feel like I have a brand new door. Two hours and 1 1/2 turns on lower nut. I love this group. Ken P.S. Positively horrible stupid design. A couple of access panels would not have detracted from the looks of the door.
