  1. Ok I see that in the parts. What do I hear turning while one of the coil wires is disconnected, which happens when the purge cycle is in progress ? I just completed the motor test described in the service manual, pg 50, with the C plug and I did not get a reading with my volt meter. I am unsure where my problem is
  2. Your observation is correct, my coach is an 02 executive with the AHE-100-02S. On my system it seems the zone 3 controls the bathroom heater which has a separate switch in the bathroom. I assumed that zone 3 was for basement heat so I don’t really know what zone 3 controls and I have never tried to operate the bathroom heater without the bedroom zone (2) operating. I imagine that zone 2 controller on the wall of the bedroom must be on for the bathroom heater to work, not sure never tried it. I believe the bay zone fan will operate depending on the temperature setting in the basement irrespective of the inside the coach thermostat/controllers being on or off. When I turn the diesel Aquahot switch on (under the kitchen counter) nothing happens. Fuse (f) is good and when I turn on zone 1 thermostat the cozy fans come on as normal, the diesel burner still will not ignite and fuse (f) does not blow. When I turn on the zone 2 thermostat the cozy fans come on and fuse (f) blows within about 30 seconds of the cozy fans coming on, at the same time as the fuse blows I hear something click (I think the sound is coming from the zone 1 thermostat/controller. The cozy fans in the bedroom are not affected by fuse (f) blowing. The test I did to check the motor (that the Aquahot tech told me to use) was to disconnect one of the wires from the coil to the motor. Then turn on the Aquahot switch. The motor doesn’t start because it does not have power but the (I believe) combustion air blower comes on and after the purge cycle is over (approximately 3 minutes) the combustion air blower shutdowns and at the same time the fuse (f) blows. So I may have two different things causing the fuse (f) to blow. Believe me I don’t want to replace the diesel fire motor unnecessarily but I talked with an Aquahot certified mechanic and he also thought the motor was bad probably a result of worn bearings. He had another test procedure to do to check the motor, also described in the service manual pg 50. I have not used that test yet.
  3. Hi Ray, the tech was talking about the burner motor. It does appear from testing that my motor is bad. The main clue, for tech, was that the fuse (f) kept blowing
  4. I talked with Aquahot tech support this morning and the tech thinks my motor is bad because it keeps blowing fuse f when I turn on the zone 2 controller. Ray I do not have hot water, the diesel burner will not ignite and the light in the switch does not go out after 30 seconds to indicate the firing sequence failed. The 15 amp fuse only blows after I turn on the bedroom zone controller, about 30 seconds after the fans come on. At that moment I hear a signal being sent to the zone 1, living room, controller. I need to go into town for some more 15 amp fuses before I can test the motor Flyinhy when you say jump the purple and blue wires connected to the black dot 230* thermostat in the lower left corner position, I imagine I must first disconnect them from the thermostat and also have the Aquahot hot switch in the “on” position. Please clarify. What do you think is happening here, just bypassing that particular thermostat?
  5. As stated before the light in the Aquahot switch below the kitchen counter stays lit as long as I leave the switch in the “on” position but the burner will not ignite. This information I posted in the reply’s to the other monacoer having a problem with the Aquahot not firing (I should have started a new thread with my problem)
  6. Yes I turned the Aquahot switch under the kitchen counter to “on” , light lights up but diesel burner does not light. Every time I have the Aquahot switch in the “on” position and then turn on the bedroom (zone two) thermostat the 15 amp fuse (f) blows within 30 seconds or so. I believe that is when the thermostat is sending the signal for the Aquahot diesel burner to light via the automatic mode
  7. With the use of the “holy grail” I checked for continuity of the thermostats. First the 190* start up thermostat for 12vdc. Checks out good. The thermostat that failed is the 198* for the 120v part of the system. Any advice from this new information? Should I replace more than the faulty thermostat, perhaps buy all new thermostats but just replace the faulty one. I have never used the 120v part of the Aquahot system but when it failed I had it connected to shore power via an external generator
  8. I am having a problem with my Aquahot system again. It has been working and I love it. 02 Monaco Executive, Aquahot model 100 02S 12vdc. I should have started a new thread but I posted it in the last post that someone had the same problem. I will wait and look for comments from that post before I enter all the information in a new post
  9. I am having a problem again with my Aquahot , model AHE 100 12vdc. The burner will not start. Found that the 15 amp fuse (f) was blown. Replaced but the Aquahot still does not start. Checked that the relays for the zones are all good by turning on the thermostat control for zone 1 (living room, kitchen) - good. And then for zone 2 (bedroom) and then separate bathroom heater switch - everything good. Fuse (f) still good. Then when I have the Aquahot switch turned on (no the burner does not fire) and the on light is illuminated in the switch and then I turn on the bedroom zone (fan is working) within 30 seconds or so fuse (f) will blow. The fuse does not blow if I only turn the Aquahot hot switch to “on” to start heating water no matter how long I leave it on (but the burner does not start). The fuse does not blow if I turn on the zone 1 thermostat, only blows when I turn the bedroom zone 2 thermostat controller on. Could the relay board be shorting out?
  10. I have a 02 Monaco and I was having a problem with the fans being weak/low cfm output. Couldn’t figure out the problem but fixed it by replacing all the zone relays
  11. After I got home from work I spent some time working on my pump problem. I found the 2 inline fuses in the bay where the pump is located (a 5 and a 15 amp fuse), and the relay (Bosch 30 amp 12 volt, #091303 P1, 0332019150). I checked the fuses ( both good, then lubricated them with dielectric compound) and then I lubricated the relay pins. My pump has a splice between the front of the pump where the power comes in and the rear of the pump ( not sure if this is stock or not) but it feels like one of the wires is loose in the connector. I pushed it in hoping to get a solid connection (I will replace this connector as soon as I can get a replacement). Went into my coach to test the pump and it is now working again. Poor connections seem to have been the problem. Thanks for the help. I wouldn’t know where to begin if it wasn’t for everyone on the site that shares their knowledge nor would I have the confidence to get in there and try to fix something. Thank you
  12. Hi the water pump in my 2002 Executive 40PBT stopped working. It appears to not be getting electricity. I checked the fuse in the bedroom closet which also connects the current to the monitor. Something weird is happening. Process: I turn on a faucet (have 3 inside) no water, then I check the fuse in the 12 volt panel in the bedroom closet , good, then I check the monitor for batteries (full), fresh water tank (full), grey water tank (1/4 full), black water tank (empty) and propane tank 3/4 full), all readings are correct . Then I turn the water pump switch on at any of the 3 faucets (I have tried it at each one) still no water. Then I check the monitor again and the readings are all at empty. I will look for a fuse in the bay with the water pump. I am suspecting the relay has malfunctioned. I will also try the suggestions in the other post about water pump problems. Thanks for helping. Max S
  13. SUCCESS!!! It was a good feeling this morning when I got up and had your 3 responses to my post. I have both the shop manual and the owners manual. I started looking around this afternoon and first found a loose nut that holds a bunch of positive wires. Tightening that didn’t solve the problem. I then checked all the fuses, they were all good and they had a fresh coat of dielectric compound on them. I had the AQ system serviced during the summer of 2019. There were a couple of problems 1) 2 of the relay sockets were bad and 2) the fuel pump was leaking. Both of those issues were fixed, everything worked well when I brought it home. I had it in storage until spring of 2020 and didn’t start using the AQ system until winter of 2020. On my way out of that tight crawl space after checking the fuses I knocked all 3 relays out of their sockets. After putting them back in I now have zones 1 (A) and 2 (B) working properly. So the problem stemmed from the relays not having a good connection.” Thanks for the advice. I haven’t figured out where zone C is. It is not the bedroom as the manual states, it seems both the bedroom and bathroom exchangers work off of zone 2 (B). It may be the fresh water tank/ bay pump but the check valve is not getting hot with the bay fan working. So now my zone 1 (A) fans are stronger than my zone 2 (B) bedroom and bathroom fans a reversal of what I had before. I will be warm tonight, thank you again
  14. Hi everyone I have a new aquahot problem. I have an 02 Executive 40PBT with the the aquahot model #AHE-100-02s. The zone 2 heat exchangers ( bedroom and bathroom) have been working great this winter until Friday. Friday night they started to blow cold air after about 10-15 minutes of blowing hot air. Monitoring the system the last couple of days it seems hot air will come out of the exchangers for a little bit longer while the burner is ignited. But I still get cold air coming out (after initially getting hot air) after about 15 minutes. Usually (from my experience with my coaches unit) the aquahot system will reach full temperature and automatically turn off after about 20 minutes. It seems that I can still get hot air from the exchangers/vents for about 10/15 minutes with the AH switch in the off position if the antifreeze is still hot from a previous heating of the AH system. My previous problem with low air flow in zone 1 has not been solved properly. My guess is the fans are not getting enough electricity, the wire guage is so small I am afraid to touch them for fear of breaking the wire strands inside the insulation. I am using a temporary fix - an Olympian wave 8 propane heater in the front of my coach. Expecting snow tonight and most days over the next week, not going to be as cold as it was in most of December, low 20’s most nights and mornings, the coldest night/ morning was 17*. Thanks for the help, I read the older posts that I could find in the archives but nothing seemed to be similar to what I have going on
  15. Hi Joel, I have an 02 Executive and have been looking for a ladder. Wondering if yours is similar to the one I have. I am in northern Ca. 707 489 2512, madmax95463@yahoo.com Let’s connect.
  16. No worries David, everything helps. I did look for that black box though. I am sure a great improvement for the aqua hot system. It really burns you though when companies make improvements that aren’t
  17. I had my unit serviced summer of 2019 and it was not used until just a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the closest certified aqua hot technician is 3 hours away at $150/hour. He has limited parts, it took 3 trips that summer to get it working properly, so I hope I can get this figured out without needing him. Thanks again for all the help
  18. Yes my aqua hot unit is model # AHE-100-02S
  19. Thanks for all the replies . Upon further investigation I find there is a difference in the way the a/c unit and aqua hot unit works depending if I am connected to shore power or using the batteries only. The fans in the cozy 2 heat exchangers are 12 vdc as is the aqua hot ignition. When using batteries only ( inverter is off ) the fan speed is very weak from the kitchen forward which has the new 10 button controller that is necessary with the new dometic penguin a/c with heat pump. The bedroom and bathroom fans are strong ( will be checking to see if they are the same model number, amps and volts as the ones in the other heat exchangers. Now when I connect to shore power the aqua hot setting in the new 10 button controller will only work if the fan speed is set to auto. If I change the fan speed to low, med. or high the a/c heat pump comes on and aqua hot unit goes off. I called dometic and a technician told me it was supposed to work that way. When I am connected to shore power and am using the aqua hot unit this is when I get vacillating fan speeds. I am assuming this is because the fan speed is set to auto auto. However it is strange that the fans will not hold a certain speed for more than a few seconds. The bedroom and bathroom fans speed remains unchanged whether connected to shore power or using batteries only
  20. In my 02 Executive 40 PBT the fan speed for the heat exchangers from the kitchen forward (3 in total : kitchen, living room and cockpit) has dropped to almost nothing, it won’t even blow out a candle. These units are connected to the new a/c unit with the 10 button controller. A few days before this I noticed that the fan speed on these heat exchangers was varying considerably several times a minute. The bedroom fan and the one in the bathroom are still working fine, both connected to the rear a/c unit (original). I have two dometic penguin a/c units with heat pumps. Any insight on what might be wrong? Thanks in advance.
  21. Thank you Bill C for the information about Talin RV. I just got around to ordering the spring today. I don’t think I would have been able to find it without your help, certainly not as easily. Thanks again
  22. The spring in one of my slide out toppers broke. Anyone know where to buy a replacement spring. 2002 Monaco Executive, Carefree of Colorado Omega A slide out topper
  23. RVT.com, RVTrader and eBay auction site are all legitimate sites. And I would guess there are other legitimate sites too. However there are several sites to be leery of and more cropping up all the time. I did check the BBB to see if there were any complaints for sellitnowauctions.com. There was nothing. Great advice Bob. That will be my way going forward
  24. Thanks for all the posts. Sorry my post was not very clear. Yes I had to pay a fee to list my coach with this internet site. I did take the man for his word, big mistake. Too many people in the world who want to cheat others. The only way to prevent this from happening to others is to get the information out RVT.com, RVTrader and eBay auction site are all legitimate sites. And I would guess there are other legitimate sites too. However there are several sites to be leery of and more cropping up all the time. I did check the BBB to see if there were any complaints for sellitnowauctions.com. There was nothing.
