  1. If you're on the road and want to do a really quick repair that will hold for a while. Get a ladder and two hammers, one a small hand sledge and the other a ball pein. With the door open, position the hand sledge directly under the rivet and then pein the outer edges of rivet. Test the tension on the door until you get the right amount of expansion on the rivet. You can do both sides, without removing the hinge. It should keep it good for a year or two.
  2. Congrats. Sig's are really nice coaches.
  3. Not yet. I haven't received the Prevost as there were several things that required attention. The service industry seems to be at all time low as far as performance goes. Hopefully, it will come together in a couple of weeks. My plan was to move out of one and directly into the other. Then, when that's done, officially put it up for sale.
  4. Your system looks similar to my '09 Dynasty. The autofill system was the first thing that went out on me when we 1st purchased it. The problem you describe might be in the switch itself or a tank level sensor. I wound up taking the whole system out because of repeated failure of the solenoid valve. I took the electric valve out and replaced it with a stainless bulkhead mount ball valve similar to the valve you switch flush water to either gray or black tank. I mounted it up high and to the left of the tv cable entrance. Plenty of access there. Easily done with a few pex fittings and line. Downside is you have to watch the tank level on the other side of the coach to know when its full enough to shut off. Upside, it will never again be the cause of the system not being able to pressure up, because when the valve goes out, the pump will run water out of the tank and then back in, not building pressure. It might sound a bit extreme, but I'm happy with a system that won't fail..............Good luck, Theo
  5. Last post didn't show for some reason. Anyhow, the series of Cummins ISM 500's somehow got a by from the Feds. Very nice to not have to deal with recirculation and DEF. Andrew Steele? LOL
  6. We are taking delivery on a Prevost coach next month and will be putting our '09 Dynasty Bishop IV up for sale soon. It's a quad slide, 3 axle, 39' coach with a no smog required ISM 500 Cummins and a 12.5 Kw Onan generator. The coach has just over 60,000 miles on it. With 50,000 miles that we as second owners have put on in the last 10 years. It has 3 roof top AC's, 1 solar panel, Sleep number RV King, Tecma macerating toilet, Sanicon system, 3 tvs, Kenwood touch pad GPS radio, surround sound, 2 RGB LED light strips on the Girard awning, and 1 bay slide out tray. This year it's received 4 new house batteries, 2 new Michelin steer tires, new ECM, and all new air bags. I changed the front axle from grease to oil and took care of all the services. No pets, no smoke, and no full timing. Clear title. We have an assortment of spares we take along, fuel filters, belts, etc. Stored in my hangar when not on the road. Not perfect, but in great shape nevertheless. Wholesale is in the neighborhood of $165,000.00 which is the firm price we will be asking. It will be detailed when we move into the next one. If you know of anyone interested or have questions please contact me. Thanks.
  7. There are 2 new ones available on ebay for $100.00 each. Same part number.
  8. Hello all, I looked almost everywhere for a replacement ignition switch for our 2009 Dynasty. It looks to be a die cast Pollak body that is a 3 position, 4 incorporated, 12 gauge or similar leads, that are a foot to a foot and a half long, and uses the large round head Ilco P1795 type key. Keys I can find. Ignition switch not so easy. Looked at Pollak's web site and couldn't find anything with leads. Anyone have an idea for a direct replacement or something close?
  9. I had to ours a couple years ago in a campground. Not a fun job. I just wanted to mention that from looking at the pictures, you can see that the last strap may have played into the breakage of the fitting. There is a step in size between the slip adapter and the hose itself. I would glue a short piece of paint stir stick or something thick enough to the wooden wedge to compensate for the step in size. That way there won't be undo stress on the hose from the retaining straps. Secondly its important to get the length of hose exactly right. It may or not have been sized correctly from the factory. Either too short or too long will put additional stress on the fittings when the slide is fully extended or fully retracted. Hope that helps. Long arms help too.
  10. I’ve been struggling with a similar issue the other day. My ‘09 dynasty completely quit. No instruments, no Medallion, and no response from the keyed ignition. While waiting for a tow truck, we decided to check the rear run box. Found a 15 amp fuse had blown. Replaced what I believe was the VEA6 or maybe VEA5 fuse. Renting an RV now to complete our planned trip, so I can’t check to be sure. Replacing the fuse allowed us to start it up again, but we decided to let the tow truck bring it back to Cummins for a deeper check. They also believe that the intermittent loss of of power maybe from an ignition solenoid or relay that has gone weak. There are some files that show the electrical schematics on this site, although it’s difficult to determine exactly where the components are physically situated. Wish you the best. Theo
  11. Thanks for all the replies. We brought it down to Cummins in Coburg. We’ll see how that turns out. Someone there should have it together. I appreciate all the different replies. It’s nice to know that there are a lot shops down there that come with high marks. Flying home in the morning and we’ll wait and see what happens in the near future. My fingers are crossed…………Theo
  12. Thanks everyone. I think I’m going to drive down to Coburg in the morning and physically ask these people if they’re able to work on the coach. I’ve left about 4 voicemails and online requests with e few businesses and they have not yet responded. I’m well aware that they must be very busy, but it sure used to be nice talking with someone that had a pulse.
  13. It does. Theo Thanks for the numbers JD and whoever we take it I will mention checking the cam and crank position sensors. Thanks Luther
  14. Although Sacramento is on my way home, I was hoping to get over the Siskiyou's without stalling out. I’m starting to wonder if it indeed might be the ECM. I’ve tried the REV group but it seems you can’t phone them directly. Calls go to Indiana and one needs to send a request for service online. Been a few hours now and haven’t heard anything from them. I might try Oregon motor coach or Elite RV. If I have no satisfaction from them I’ll take it to Sacramento. Thanks, John. Theo
  15. I guess I should have posted this in the general discussion. My apologies. Flew back to Portland to pick up my 09 Dynasty which had an electrical issue. The engine will stop randomly and show codes check engine, stop engine, and ATC. The shop I took it to has changed out both fuel filters, replaced the throttle position sensor, cleaned several connectors that showed some corrosion. They test drove it 30 miles without issue. I left the shop and It quit twice on me within 5 miles. It’s been in the shop since Memorial Day. I’m not taking it back there. They did their best but didn’t solve the problem. I’m looking for a tech somewhere in Oregon with great tech skills that you folks would highly recommend. Thanks in advance. Theo

  17. That clunk noise you feel when you engage the transmission might be a bad universal joint. Might be worth checking.
  18. I spoke with the tech this morning. I'm having him replace both fuel filters, and cut them open to see if there might be an algae problem. Earlier he gotten 30+ codes all with the throttle position sensor. The shutdown we encountered usually didn't happen until we were about an hour underway and it never came back after putting a couple thousand miles on. When it sat for a month or two it would resurface again and shut down and it cleared itself within a few seconds, if there was enough momentum and I pulled my foot off the accelerator. An annoyance at best, but this last trip it quit 3 times in the first ten miles and showed up again after 400 miles or so. The worst was when it quit while passing a string of trucks going up the Siskiyous. Not enough momentum to have it clear itself on time. I made the decision to have it repaired before we came home. We had to fly home for a funeral and a wedding and don't have the ability to visit the shop. We are usually in daily communication on the phone. I appreciate all the info you gave me. Hopefully soon they'll have the problem resolved along with a few other squawks that it needed to be addressed. Thanks again for the info.....Theo
  19. I had to bring my '09 Dynasty to a shop near Portland for an annoying check engine, stop engine, ATC issue. While there, the house batteries ran down to a couple volts. I requested they keep it plugged in, which they didn't do. The tech said I needed a new large solenoid. I think its what's referred to as a big boy. So after a week or so of waiting for the part to show up and getting it installed, they tell me we have no instruments or dash lights (as in fault indicators, the Medallion system). The engine appears to start without them activated. Does anyone know for sure if the 12 volt Medallion system is powered from the house batteries? The tech seems to think they should be tied to the chassis batteries. Sounds plausible, but I wonder if they could have been powered from the house batteries. I've had the coach 10 years and know that in that time its never been rewired. I looked at schematics and really couldn't find out much. Electronics is not being my strong suit. Once this is resolved we can get back to the original issue.
  20. Our generator slide did the same thing after we replaced a weepy hydraulic hose. I suspected trapped air in the end of the ram. After bleeding the line and purging the system of air it behaved more like it was intended. If you haven't changed the hose or ram or someway unsealed the system you might check the fluid level with all the slides out to see if the pump picked up air on a low level. That's an easy and affordable inspection. If that checks out well, then you can move on from there.
  21. I lost the upper radiator hose in 2019 in Concord, CA. Found a NAPA store nearby that had a somewhat similar hose with a part number 8808. It had 2 different sizes on the ends. You will have to trim off some excess hose to make it fit. I'm not sure if that's the way to go, but it worked for me. All the other hoses are straight and the same size from one end to the other. Good luck changing out the heater hoses. They were the biggest challenge. I hired that job out to someone younger and far more flexible. So far so good. Use good quality hose, so you don't have to replace them prematurely.
  22. You could try La Mesa RV. They sell and service multiple Class A coaches. It’s a good sized place. Driven by a few times, but have no experience with them. I think they’re in Claremont Mesa. Between La Jolla and Mira Mesa.
  23. That's an extensive list Mike, Thank-you, I appreciate that.
  24. Thanks to all who shared their favorite campgrounds. I'll build a small database to use in future planning. I do plenty of research on campgrounds long before we set out. When reviewing on line, people tend to give a campgrounds poor ratings because they're wi-fi didn't work or the trees were blocking the satellite signal or whatever's on their whine list. (Can't see the forest for the trees.) Those are kind of things that don't carry a lot of weight in my opinion. I'd rather see a campground that has a few rules, but enforces them, and has roomy spots and maybe nice view. Now back to the boon docking. The only appliance that utilizes propane is the cooktop. We use it plenty, but after 10 years its barely less than a half tank. It had three quarters when we purchased it. Thats not an issue. The residential fridge does take a fair amount of power, no propane option there. Then there's the macerating toilet. Water use is only controllable with light or heavy flush. Sure I could be conservative and wait till the bowl is full before I flush it, but I don't want to live like that. Two days of normal living and the black tank needs unloading. Even with all the lights off it all night, the generator can barely start in the morning. That's with the heat set at sixty degrees, and rarely comes on. It has only one solar panel on the roof and could use more. But that wont solve the water issue. Therefore I do as little boon docking as possible.
