I installed the Ugly on my '09 HR with a ISM, I moved 50 feet and the check eng light came on. Unplugged and no more light so I returned it for a refund. I have since had the ECM programed by Diesel spec inc and have removed the EGR injection tube that causes a restriction in the intake. More power and a 1mpg gain in milage.
If you dont mind more noise outside (no difference from the driver seat) go with a flow through. I used a MBRP 2220S that I installed myself and compensated for the staggerd old muffler by adjusting the muffler brackets, Tailpipe is in about 3" from factory.
They are the modules that prioritize the 110v systems. The clicking you hear inside the intellitec module is a failed relay for that circuit , they each supply 3 circuits. The compleat unit will need to be replaced, if the part number is 00-00714-000 they are very easy to find.
Bob thanks for the pic's and follow up post. I have exactly the same fridge and mounting set up, I have saved pics and part #, fingers crossed I never have to use them.
On mine I was lucky it was the little plastic fan that blows over the coils that had fallen off the motor. I removed the outer panel and then the cardboard cover at the bottom to access.
An interesting read. I have an '09 HR Imperial build date March '08, I am the second owner and aside from the common quirks seems like a solid build. What I would like to find out is if it was a custom order as it has $92k of upgrades $30k of that for the ISM/4000 upgrade.
Dave you are on the right track, a failed sensor will not allow the engine to regen. The most common sensor to fail on the maxxforce engines is the air intake temp sensor. You might need to find somebody with a more advanced scanner or I hate to say this take it to a "stealership"
Mine was really struggling so I pulled it apart and there was a lot of hair around the blades, I removed it and it made a big difference to the performance.
Right rear inside the closet. they protect the 110v system so you can not have to many big draws on at the same time. On both the boxes I replace it was the heated floor circuit that had failed first in the main area and the in the bathroom.
