  1. Thanks again Dan. I found this under sink one in the Amazon. The filter is good for 5,000 gallons. As I also use a whole house filter to fill the tank, or use anyone's water hookups, this should last me a year. (Belt & Suspenders approach) Thanks to everyone for your advice. Must say I'm amazed by the room some of you have for multiple filters. I didn't want to run more water lines and this works fine as a direct replacement. Came with fittings and all adapters. I velcroed it to the tank. The towel underneath was to check for leaks. Everything tight after 600 miles. THANKS AGAIN!

  3. Thank you Tom. I had an idea that I would be fabricating something. Didn't think of using an under sink filter instead of the whole house. I have 3 1/4 inches between the tank and the door. A whole house filter canister was to wide. I can't move the tank in anymore because of the aqua hot mounted on the passenger side of the bay. Thanks again for the idea on an under sink filter. I'm on a cistern at home so very familiar with filter's restrictions on flow. We mounted ours before the pressure tank to reduce the restriction.
  4. When I bought my Camelot, the water filter bypass tube was installed. I'd like to put a filter back in the same location. Does anyone know what that part number is/was? I'm looking at a couple of under sink type filers as a whole house filter canister (too wide) doesn't fit between the tank and door. Thank you.
  5. His wife was driving separately and pulled over when she heard noise from the brakes. The nsa tow bar shouldn't have been attached. Not sure how that system would only be applying one brake. More likely is the caliber slider bolts were stuck, or the pads couldn't float due to corrosion or lack of lube. Causing the pads to drag on that wheel this the heat and resulting flames. One advantage of doing maintenance yourself is checking these critical failure points.
  6. SOS pads with water, rinse then use a cleaner wax. Let the wax dry completely before buffing off. I generally don't need to turn on the wipers unless it's a downpour.
  7. Thank you for posting the STL file. Was able to have them printed by the local library for the cost of the material. They even provide the first 50g for free.
  8. Has anyone added a fourth camera to the front of their MH? If you did, what camera did you use that is compatible with the stock system? The stock full color screen has a fourth input. I'm thinking about adding on mount in the front license plate opening, and have the idea of using the same as the rear one (tilt and audio). Just looking for ideas. Thanks.
  9. The pump has the adapter in it. Literally the exact same unit I had. Also removed it from the wall, mounted the box to the floor on a 2 inch platform and now the bypass empties completely.
  10. I thought about replacing my single step with a double for the same reason. Then I discovered the air leveling has a "level then lower" function. That resolved the step height, and eliminated the potential for dragging the bottom step hitting a curb or ground in certain cases.

  12. My Sanicon motor stopped working recently. When I tried to replace it, everywhere showed the part was discontinued. However, it appears the PART NUMBER has been discontinued NOT the entire pump. Found the exact pump with a different part number. Will rebuild the old one for a spare. Had to use the stinky slinky to empty the tanks. Not again. I enjoy people staring when I use the sanicon wearing flip flops and no gloves. Much cleaned and safer with zero drips.
  13. Ok, so any idea what this plug is for? I'll keep looking for a white one. Have been behind the dash both top and bottom and didn't see nor feel it there.
  14. Ok, I pulled off the cover under the driver side console. There was a 4 wire square unused plug. The only label on it is the letter "R". Is this my brake controller plug? My Monaco was built in January 2008 if that helps. I have both round 6 and flat four sockets on the back. The flat four works the lights on a trailer correctly. What brake controller would you recommend? I also found all the wiring including the antenna for a cb in the same area. Those white wires all are marked with what they are, but the brake controller uses heavier gauge wires with no markings on them. Thank you.
  15. MODERATOR EDIT. This is an ongoing discussion. This new topic has been combined with the one that matches the question asked below. END of EDIT I pulled off the cover to find the pre wired connector for an electric brake controller. The only plug I found is this 4 wire plug. The only marking on it is the letter R. Two questions: Is this the only connector for a brake controller? I have both the round and the flat four sockets. The flat four has running, turn, and brake lights already working, so I imagine those are also good in the round plug What do you recommend for a brake controller band where do you mount it? The ones I've put in pickups had to be mostly level to function properly. Thank you.
  16. FLynes, 4 ideas for weighing your coach: 1) Gravel yards. Around here most have deck scales and enough room to get one side or the other off the scales. 2) Trash centers. Trash trucks are charged by the ton, so most have scales. 3) Scrap metal yards. Would be my last resort and a definite scout trip before driving my unit there. Big no if messy. 4) Contact your state patrol. Some have commercial enforcement units that will come out or meet you somewhere predetermined that is level have portable scales and don't mind helping out. It's kind of a nice break from arguing with a trucker. Good luck
  17. Thank you Myron, there were no numbers on my solenoid and the manuals I have didn't show one either. At some point I might have to pull the driver side window to fix the minor fogging that's started. Probably will put a residential one in then, but really prefer the original look.
  18. It appears my ice maker solenoid decided to stop working. The water dispenser half still works. I can't find an exact replacement, but did find one for a norcold pn 624516 that looks similar. Anyone replace this valve? I'd like to replace the water line that runs to it from the valve while I'm digging in there if anyone has a source for that too. Thank you

  20. Mine is titled as a 2009, but the inside sticker shows a build date of Jan 2008. I must admit (brag?) that the interior quality is significantly higher quality that a lot of newer dps I've seen from various manufacturers. The CDO part of me cringed at the mess inside, but doubt the repo angle. It's in AZ with OH plates.
  21. I wish when stories like these are written the companies involved were named so we can avoid those that appear to overcharge. If the facts presented are correct (and I’m not saying they aren’t) the writer isn’t slandering the company. At least put a google review explaining the experience up so if we need a tow, we can be forewarned of what to expect.
  22. Coming from a LE side of this: we removed or suspended tow companies from the rotation for excessive complaints or excessive fees. Our written policy had a maximum storage fee. The policy also had the phrase “reasonable and customary” in it for accidents and clean up. I’d file a complaint with the LE agency over the fee.
  23. Tom, these things are unicorns for sure. My cube heater is light tan and works fine. I found the snap disc was mounted on the floor and both terminals were corroded. I replaced it and it keeps the bay toasty. Checked it this morning after writing the prior post and it was 46 in the wet bay with the temperature in the barn of 18. Granted it’s out of the wind.
  24. “System Heat” is a cube heater in the wet bay that is behind the white plastic cover. It is turned on by the switch and controlled by a snap disc. When it’s about 40 degrees IN THE WET BAY it should kick on. There is a fan you can hear when standing outside by the bay door. I put a few pieces of styrofoam insulation inside the door to help hold the heat in.
