  1. Rikadoo's post in Coolant pump question was marked as the answer
So when i did all my cooling system repairs, i also performed all the upgrades. My reasoning was my coach is a rear radiator style and access is limited. I had chose to replace mine and i went back with cummins, when it came in it looked majorly different than the old one. When i asked i was told it was that the original had been upgraded several times. Its hard choosing run it or replace it sometimes, guess my thoughts are would i want to have to do that on a trip somewhere, my answer generally answers itself.
  2. Rikadoo's post in AC condenser fan always running? was marked as the answer
Hello Kent, so to be clear your condencer fan is to run anytime the ac compressor is engauged, that would be in a setting in anything other that “vent, or floor  or off” if you have the mode switch in the off position an the fan still runs go back at the engine with it running an look to see if it is engauged. If it is not then i had run into a few that because no one could find the fuse that controls it, it had a wire connected to it to run with the key on power. If the compressor is running with the mode switch in the off position due to the amount of amps required to run both the compressor AND the fan you may have a relay that went rogue an stuck in the run position.
  3. Rikadoo's post in Painting Henry's Paint over Dicor was marked as the answer
Hello Jay, so yes i too did the tropicool roof paint. I read abt the paint, and all the benifits, its been everthing i wanted, for me i took off ALL the dicore and i used eterna bond tape on everything, as you see in the pic, be sure to reseal around the roof line, once its set then paint right over it. After washing the entire roof , i sealed the roof line, i then used 3m cleaner to wipe off the entire roof, when that dried i used the paint to cut in around everthing, 2 times, after that the rest of the roof. Like i said before its awsome, however the one issue i have is that when i climb up on the roof to clean it you have to be VERY CAREFULL, cause its silicone… when it get soap an water on it, it is VERY SLIPPERY! Its been like a few years an holding very well… FYI not shown in the pic are the ac covers, they had several stress cracks on the inside so on those i used gorilla tape on the stress cracks then on the outside of the covers i painted them too with the paint.

  4. Rikadoo's post in CoachStep Step Motor: How Does It Work? was marked as the answer
Heres what i know abt step motor gear box replacement
You dont need worry abt “timing” the motor and or the gear box. As the module looks at motor draw to determine when to turn off current to the motor, either out or in! So thats why it sooooo important to keep the linkage clean an lubed. Which also why im now using a spray dry graphite lube ($$$) lubricant for step servicing. It doesnt attract road grime an crud.
  5. Rikadoo's post in Source Engineering/JB Radiator was marked as the answer
Yes i can, I believe his name is Jim at the Source. I bought one from them and am tottaly satisfied, great team to by from. Not only did they sell me my radiator, but they gave me a fan for my rig free cause my old one had a piece missing. When calling them it will be important to provide them with the info on a sticker that tells the builder which one you need. They originally said it was on the radiator, however on mine it was located on the fan shroud
  6. Rikadoo's post in Dusty road ;-( was marked as the answer
Aside from move to a different spot, not really, im not sure if the fan that changes pitch with RPM fluctuations would help. Mine gets the same everytime we head out to Nevada to go play, things to watch out for is as the engine runs an creating “blow by” it too is being thrown at the radiator, mixed with the dust it starts to restrict airflow☹️ make sure you keep the radiator clean often, especially look from the inside towards the radiator to make sure it’s not
Plugging the fins up with the glop.
  7. Rikadoo's post in 3.2L Diesel Duratorq engine in Ford Transit was marked as the answer
Walk Away…. Run if you can!!!
i worked on them when they came out, reason is only ford can do major service ONLY FORD! Cause EVERYTHING needs a special tool, ford quit using them cause all the techs and dealerships were bitching so bad cause the time factors were thru the roof. You will notice there is no doghouse to remove to accec the back of the engine, well the engine mfg put the EGR cooler right in the very back of the engine, almost IMPOSSABLE to change, plus im sure the parts availability will be $$$$$ due to they dropped the engine family. Sorry didnt respond sooner, i was having issues opening the website…🙀runnnnnn!
  8. Rikadoo's post in V band clamp was marked as the answer
Ok folks… i finally got the dreaded band clamp debackel resolved🤦‍♂️ So in finding a clamp there are more than one measurment thats involved, i always thought it was the circumfrence, thats a part then the inside has a width, then i call them the wings, which is the metal that actually covers the angle of the flange🤪🤪🤪 so when your in front of a parts guy there eyes roll up in the back of there head an tell you to refer to the manufacture… i wont bore you with all the people an places i have tried just looking for a glimmer of hope.
So once i discovered im not trying to connect to the turbo as much as i am to the engine brake things started to make sence. My first stop was the internet looking at my engine brake Mfg. From there looking to who carried it, called an spoke with a guy who said they sell a kit for $117, comes with all the mounting equipment for the brake assy, after a few minutes of conversation we became aware of seeing if they sell the clamp individually… BINGO!!! Even after all that i boild down to getting one in my hands because as good as the parts guy was he had very little dimensions other that the Mfg and the main outer dimension. Anyway, leap of faith an a master card my order arrived an its a match. That whole adventure has been over 3 weeks trying to solve, makes me want to get another just cause, Also something to concider, is the clamp FROM the turbo TO the exhaust brake the same or different🤦‍♂️ just too much to think of right now, instead its time for a beer🍻 hope this journey helps👍
