  1. I think I have found the reason for the generator starting when I don't think it should... after running an AC refer for so many years I had forgotten to check its MODE and it was using nearly 400 watts almost constantly. 22 years ago I was warning RVers about exactly this.
  2. The AGS was my thought exactly, but the why has me perplexed. My inverter is indeed a magnum and the low volt start is set at 11 volts. The voltage reading there was 12.5 when I started the generator and turned on the block heat. An hour or near that I shut off the block heat after starting the engine the alternator light flashed and i shut down the generator..I THINK. I stopped at a rest area 70 miles later and it was running. shut it off for sure this time drove another 2 hrs and it was running. At this time I had the POs by pass switch was open. This was built 6 years after I tried to retire from RV repair and I had never heard about VADIL nor ALADDIN. I installed HEART units and had 2 in my executive. The major question in my mind is what could be using the power at that rate.. I can believe my big boy combiner IS BAD. That will change soon. should I add an ammeter shunt to help find the problem since I can only read my clamp on really close.... WAYNE K 06 WINDSOR
  3. I am just learning the system in this new to me coach. right now I am more worried why my genset starts while I am driving.. It happened twice this morning. The first time I questioned my memory, the second I was sure. WAYNE E
  4. I fear a temperature sensor in my system is screwed up. My 06 windsor is new to me but suspect that the previous owners may have been on this site too. Anyway the scan guage shows a voltage reading light the grid heaters are cycling while driving down the road. This would drive the alternator and its installed regulator nuts..the aladdin jr is showing an almost constant 13.5 to 13.7.. neither is high enough to suit this retired electrician/ mechanic. Any help or input welcomed. Wayne E 06windsor
  5. I've been digging deep for good info on arms for my new to me 06 windsor. Nothing I've seen is rightand its Saturday whole dammcourseed weekend to turn it over in my mind. Of course I was told they were repaired when I picked it up. Who ever the previous owner was I'd sure like to talk to them, no complaints just questions.
  6. Mine Are all working fine now I do not that to remain so. Add me to your list. On another item I bumped the power button going out the door and shut down all power from the salesman switch yesterday. Today I removed the fuse from that switch eliminating all possibility of that happening again UNTIL I reinstall that fuse.
  7. I had the same thing happen to my 95 exec. Actually did it my self by allowing the tire shop to remove a spacer that had always been between the hub and the wheels.
  8. it is a PEQ and it has the VALID also. I had to manually level today since I wanted it lower than valid wanted it. The step motor is bad and needed to block the step in place. next problem since the water heater now works is the aria electric toilet. Ifear it is going to have to be replaced. I finally got some time with thev owners manual today. The messages about the sildes were welcome news since I just located what info I have. THERE should be no EGR until 08 I do not believe. There were lots of changes after 07.
  9. I traded my 95 exec for an 06 windsor. Holy smokes. I have posted so little for many years I have forgotten how and where to put this info. The differences are astounding and I have many bugs to work out. I was told to extend the slides before leveling is that correct? It only has 56k so it was stored quite a bit and this 400 is thumping a bit. Hoping hot shot will do away with that. Wayne E
  10. No it is because of the number of wrecks resulting in serious injuries or death.
  11. ITS a 8.3cta 300 originally turned up to about 380 with an EGT for safety.
  12. Also take heed that US 93 is rated as 1 of the most dangerous hiways in the country from Las Vegas south. I have not traveled the new INTERSTATE that is supposed to improve safety along that route. Wayne K 95 exec
  13. I replaced that supply line with a longer 1 routed away from the manifolds heat. At 158000 plus miles and lots of LEARNING situations i have replaced and had several turbos replaced. The last 1 replaced was a new china made cheapo that the v band clamp area snapped OFF crossing some rough road in Las Vegas. the china made copy was under 300 bucks. Replacement unit was at the time the last new holset in the U.S..right at 800 dollars noon the next day delivery, AND I had to explain the clocking procedures to the mechanics. Wayne K 95 exec
  14. looks like Ive missed it. cannot find it there welleking@gmail.com 360 271 8007
  15. I would like more info on who has what or sale WITH IN THIS GROUP. I have been looking hard for a nice used coach and have been told they would allow me $8695 for my 95 Exec. My daughter wants this coach but I fear she would shortly be over head and be far better off with a trailer or 5th wheel. At 79 I will not be around long to help her with things she would have to be taught about this coach. She just needs something simple to move into.
  16. to all my situation seems resolved. turns out the leaker was the low pressure hose so splicing was a no brainer. I washed down everything with purple stuff and hosed it off. found no leaks on the cardboard I placed under the area after things dried.
  17. the leak appears to be where the hose/wire bundle could be rubbing on the frame just behind the front axle about 4 ft from the pump. I have been digging into old files and every one says not to bother trying to pull the hoses out. the local hydraulic man says he needs ten foot minimum to reach his crimper mounted on his truck. looks like this creek has me doing it myself
  18. I need an answer soon about pulling a PRESSURE power steering hose out then a new 1 back in. mine is spraying everything near the left front tire. 95 executive 40
  19. IF there are 2 people of different sexes in a room the male is WRONG if he speaks
  20. Tom you are technically you are perfect. I would add tho that the easiest way to get the perfect water level in the cells is a filler bottle like the 1 NAPA sells. I used those since 1860. ON 1 coach that installed l 16s in i had to modify it a bit . perfect water level quickly and easily.
  21. sounds like you are using the wrong size fuse. the 18 v is the cycling of the coil and is expected... the coil should be a 15 or 20 amp fuse and the relay coil would be 5 amps.
  22. Van I understand the torque is causing a minor twist in that rear H frame but at 78 I am not sure it is enough of a irritant to look at repairing it. At most we drive 15k a year towing a new to us FORD EDGE. most of the work done on this was because of the steering and front tire wear. I need to figure out to replace that VW toad note
  23. TIM I love those HP and torque numbers. All these coaches have IS engines, are those verified numbers? I am relatively sure mine is about 375 by comparing response between other coaches I have driven and what the mods were supposed to produce. The new holset turbo is running very fine. I would like hear what others have done with their mechanical engines. like I have stated before I am a mechanical experimenter and free thinker. The remarks made by some before Bill died have kept mostly silent since then. BUT some posts are to good to ignore.
  24. I am liking these posts. I have done some different things having owned my Exec for 20 plus years and being a retired RV tech. When I bought it the front tires were lasting under 30k miles then showing metal plies on 1 side of the tire. Very hard to steer. After much searching and trials I found that 1 side of this coach was nearly 7/8 in lower than the other. Once that was corrected it was a total different drive.. Monaco spend thousands trying to correct this. I have the records to prove what I'm saying.. even spent a time in Josams if memory is right. Those places replaced bushings, tilted the front axle with a shim, tried virtually everything. While in Coburg i noticed a much nearer leveling on air. SO I separated the air suspension with ride rite controllers enabling me to see and control the pressures in each pair of bags. With nearing 27 years I am now in the process of replacing 2 air bags since 1 of the left front pair is leaking. 1 thing I have not seen is the way this chassis reacts to a turn going up hill under a heavy load. I find myself backing off the throttle more than Id really like during those turns.. LOVING LIFE and my coach
  25. the dump is designed and timed in the auto feature to lower the coach to the bump stops inside the individual air bags before leveling on the jacks. this old split windshield is not likely to crack nor pop out like the newer single ones.. read the owners MANUALS and if manually raising on jacks do the front first to protect the windshield.
