  1. I have a 2007 HR Ambassador that needs added freon for the dash AC. Having watched some instructional you tubes (on a Winnebego RV) I assume the high and low pressure lines are mounted to the firewall. When I drop the front panel I see lots of stuff attached and a myriad of covered wires dissappearing into the firewall. I am unable to find a depiction of the firewall naming the various componenets attached to it. Any suggestions? I just added R134A to my Dynasty using AC Pro product from the AutoZone. My low and high pressure ports are in the engine compartment near the compressor. I have a side radiator so that may be why they are back there. Easy to see the engine. The process was very easy. The fitting will only fit the low pressure side. I need to get another can. Buy the one with the better gauge. Cost was about $45.
  2. Please post up results of fuel line replacement and control board install. I don't know who is more excited about getting it fixed, you or me??? If the board is the cure then I will order one asap. It was 113 degreeeeeeesss here yesterday.
  3. I was reading the instructions from Flight Systems. The instructions are very clear and to the point. Are you going to put in the board or have a shop do it? It will be interesting to see if the fuel line replacement makes any difference. Where are you headed? Hot weather forecast is an everyday occurrence here.
  4. I found 4 places on the interweb with the OEM part in stock for the same price or a little less than Cummins. I am leaning towards the Flight Systems as well.
  5. 705 hrs. I just put on the 4th fuel filter in the last 100 hrs. I have this down to about a 10 minute job. The fuel that drained from the filter yesterday was a little grey in color. After installing a new fuel filter it runs great for about 2 hrs.
  6. Interesting???? Did you get your fuel lines in? Bill I booked a online/phone conference with Flight Controllers to discuss our issues with the generators. Meeting is set for Tuesday 9/7/21. Maybe they will have some insight or thoughts on causes.
  7. Paul's plan would let me know if the problem is the fuel system or isolated to the generator. If I went with his idea, which has merit, and the generator still stumbles the same then I would look to issues with the generator.
  8. Frank that is great advice and a good plan. The only variable to throw a wrench in the works is the unpredictability of when the generator is going to stumble. I could go out and start the thing tonight and it may run 2 or 3 hours without a problem. Then stall once for 2 seconds and then run another hour without issue. Then stall 10 times in 5 minutes. I am not sure how much fuel should be returning to the tank. How fast do you think a glass jar would fill up?
  9. That sounds about right. Not very fuel efficient when all we need is to charge batteries or a crock pot all day while out camping. We boondock camp 95% of the time. Good thing I have my trusty Honda generators to put in service.
  10. I appreciate the input Frank. Thank you. The issue remains with a full tank or 1/4 tank, no difference. Are you saying there is a fuel pump check valve on or in the tank?
  11. I am leaning towards a new board as well. We have a trip planned for next weekend but may have to cancel. Running the A/C's on the road with the generator issues may cost new A/C units as well.
  12. Exactly the same issue with mine. I would think a crack in the fuel line between the pump and the tank would leak fuel when it is not running. Even a small weep would show up over time. If air can go in, fuel can come out. I would think a leak would cause it to stumble more often or constantly. It is frustrating how it will run for 2, 3, or 4 hours perfect then start to spaz out and run like crap. It has to be hard on my electrical system and A/C units to have so many power surges. As a retired Fire Captain I have a hard time fixing things based on a guess or hoping something works. Hope is never a plan. This forum has great people with a ton of knowledge. I was pretty sure someone will have a solution or what they did to correct the problem. The tech at Cummins said he is 95% sure the issue lies with the control board. Best price I have found is $825 for the little bad boy.
  13. "Yes, this is a constant speed generator independent of load." According to the manual it reads that these are constant speed generator that match engine speed to load????? If "constant speed" then why say engine speed is matched to load??? That statement implies the engine speed changes. It does not make any sense, a contradiction of terms. I may have to cancel Christmas for the grandkids and suck it up and take it to Cummins. Pay them $2,000 for a repair on a coach I am most likely going to sell off anyway.
  14. It does have a multiplex start switch next to the bed. Auto start is off. It does seem to stumble less with no load. That is why I was thinking fuel related. This coach sat for 2 years and never moved with a half tank of fuel. I am suspecting a very contaminated fuel tank. I have put in Bio kill and water treatment additives. I am through half a tank with the treatment.
  15. There are no codes which is frustrating. I have checked the and secured the control harness plug as well. Does your generator run at a constant speed? Never slowing as the load is released from the generator?
  16. The guy at Cummins said the throttle is completely controlled by electronics. I asked about any stuck linkage, rods, broken return springs, bad muffler bearings, the whole enchilada. He said no on the the enchilada.
  17. I am still having generator issues with my 10K. The generator starts right up. After 10 or 15 minutes it will start to stall and puff black smoke then run great from anywhere between 2 minutes up to 2 hours. Some days it runs great, some days not so much. I have installed a new fuel pump, changed the fuel filter 3 times, checked for loose connections etc.. After a few adult beverages I have come to realize that when the generator is running, it is always running at full throttle. With no load or all three A/C units, refer, battery charger loaded on it the engine speed never changes. My previous RV's generators would throttle up as I put a load on it. My local Cummins dealer has ONE gen tech who is apparently out until further notice. I called 1-800-CUMMINS. The tech there said most likely a bad control board. I bought this hole in the pavement to pour money into a few months ago. It has had this issue since I brought it home. Anyone else have this problem? Cummins dealer wants $560 to diagnose then start adding on parts. Looks like a control board is anywhere from $850 - $950.
  18. I feel your pain brother. I can repair an engine but putting a simple picture on the interweb is a challenge.
  19. I did have trouble with my 2019 F150. It did not go into flat tow mode. My 2021 seems to go into just fine. One friend had smoke pouring from the trans. The other guy who is very mechanical and very by the book/instructions. He towed his Raptor for about a year on different trips with no issues. Then one trip about 300 miles into the trip something went south and self destructed the trans. He had to have it taken in on a flatbed. I don't trust the electronics.
  20. Do some research on burning (on Fire) transmissions in ford trucks that are flat towed. I have two different friends that flat towed a F150 and one had a Raptor. Both were 4x4 with flat tow mode. The problem is the truck slips back into gear or other issue causing a total loss on the trans. I have a 2019 F150 4x4 and 2021 F250 4x4. Both with flat tow capabilities. I trailer the trucks. Just a thought.
  21. I will miss his input greatly. We never met face to face but I trusted his ideas an thoughts with regards to all things Monaco. A great resource has moved on to a much more peaceful place. Rest easy John, your work here is complete.
  22. I have the same problem with our 2008 Monaco Dynasty Squire IV. We need to figure this out.
  23. When we purchased our coach the tires/wheels felt very out of balance. Anything over 60 MPH and the whole rig would shake. I did not know if the wheels were balanced or not as the previous owner was less than honest about the condition of the coach. We bought the coach in March 2021. The tires were "brand new" but not really. DOT dates were 2017 but still had the knobs on them. Some friends of mine with motorhomes suggested the Centramatic wheel balancers. I purchased the Centramatric wheel balancers andhad them installed. They made a huge difference but still not correct. I finally found a real good truck tire guy in town. Turns out the "new" tires had a permanent flat spot and the tires was separating inside. The tires also had balancing beads inside of them. The beads only balance the tire. The Centamatics balances the entire tire/wheel and hub assembly. End result was 8 new Toyo tires and 6 Centramatics and the the rig is smooth as cold beer on hot day. I know they are more money but IMO they are worth it. Check them out and watch their you tube videos. http://www.centramatic.com/
  24. It does not fault enough to a code. There are no fault codes showing up. Kind of why I am frustrated with the thing. If I had a code then at least I would have some direction to look to.
