  1. Gents, Have a 2009 Diplomat and was traveling home yesterday and my 12 VDC system shut off, I live in South Texas and it was extremely hot. Is there a thermal overload switch in the system? Got home, cycled the chassis cut off switch in the battery bay and the 12 VDC came back up, just need to know a point to start trouble shooting. Thanks!
  2. All, Thanks for the assistance, I found positions on both sides of the coach for clean penetrations, was able to find the turn signal wires under the dash to connect the trigger wires, connected everything up and function tested with not problems. Shout out to RVcams, the conversion kit from Sony to Voyager was plug & play, Thanks!! Rusty
  3. I have recently purchaced an upgraded camera system (RVCam) for my coach and am getting ready to mount the 2 side cameras, can anyone tell me the position on the side of the coach where you can mount the cameras so you can make a clean penetration though the fiberglass and pass the camera wiring though? Thanks All
  4. I completely removed the Sony TV from the center overhead and reconfigured the center overhead. The TV is heavy and requires 2 people to remove it, so just be aware of that. There was an angle iron frame on the inside of mine that the TV was resting on and it was easily removed. The center TV cabinet can be removed as an assembly from the roof of the coach and disassembled (quality cabinetry), I used the complete back panel for the new front panel, remove the snap clips from the sides, put some hinges on the bottom of the panel and used 1 of the snap clips on the top to hold it shut. I cut the sides of the cabinet down to look proportional and then reassemble it. Went to Lowe's, got a piece oak, made a back panel, stained it to match, looks like it was made at the factory and the head bonging cabinet is no more!
  5. I am upgrading the radio system to a Sony AXA-150 6.5" touch screen system with Apple play. Rusty
  6. Does anyone know where I can find the carbon fiber wrap or hydro dip to match this dashboard pattern, thx ahead of time. Rusty 2004 Monaco Diplomat
  7. I recently purchaced 2004 Diplomat and the floor had rotted out by the door, I originally thought the A/C condenser drain was stopped up but I noticed there is a vacuum valve on the drain line and was wondering if it was not functioning, does anyone know how to function test the valve, Thanks
  8. I figured there was type of setup for relieving the vacuum on the tank but since I have to take what I can get out here in the field, I have to come up with some work arounds. When I am out in the field, the rental service comes and services the offices, living quarters and port-a-loos, so I have to adapt to what they have because most of the time we are a long ways for town.
  9. Thanks Ben, I am a newbie to this RV thing🙂
  10. Thanks for all the input, some good ideas and I will keep in mind but I believe I have a solution, all I have to do is make a adapter from the dump port down to an 1.25" male camlock that way they can hookup and pull directly out of the tanks. Correct me if I am wrong but the black water tank has no vent to atmosphere so I will have to open the toilet when they pull a vacuum on that tank. They can also back load 25 gals. of treated water into my tank so I do not have to use any of my fresh water to preload the tank. If this works as well as I think it will, no matter where I work, I will be able to have my tanks serviced and it may well be the case that any company that rents port-a-loos can service my tanks as well.
  11. I checked with our rental company and that 250 gal. tank is the smallest they have; they can set a "Honey Pot" (25 gal. portable lift station with a float controlled grinder pump) but the problem was the basically the same except the inlet on the tank is approximately 1' higher than the lowest point on the coach. The waste water tank has a 2" male camlock fitting on the inlet port so I will have to make some type of adapter. The rental company said they would come by and service the waste water tank every 3 days which is when they service the porta-loo's, office and living quaters on location. I researched the Sani-con 600 turbo a little but saw some complaints about the factory discharge hose bursting which would indicate it has enough head pressure to lift the waste water in to the tank but the discharge hose may need to be a little higher working pressure, it also looks like you could install a pressure switch the discharge side of the pump to open and cut the power to the pump off if it over pressures, any thoughts?
  12. I purchased a 04 Dip 40pdq and will use it to live in while I am out in the field (O&G Completions Field Engineer) from 10 to 25 days at a time, they will bring me diesel, water and set a waste water tank for me to use and this is where I have a question. Since the black and gray water systems uses gravity to empty the tanks and the inlet on the waste water tank will be approximately 3.5' above the lowest point on the drain of the coach, I will have to lift the waste water into the tank. Are there any systems available that can do this function? Thanks ahead of time, Rusty
  13. Thanks for the feedback, belts and hoses where not on my list.
  14. I have recently purchased a 2004 Monaco Diplomat 40pdq w/27,000 miles, the coach is in excellent condition w/new tires, batteries, roof and A/C (damage during the cold snap we had in Texas). I did very little research about the coach before I purchased it, the deal just landed in my lap (friend of a friend):) The systems in the coach all function correctly and the coach drives wonderfully but I would like to upgrade some of the systems such as R&R the Sony backup camera, add side cameras, add TPM system, R&R Sony TV's w/smart TV's, R&R audio system w/bluetooth, nav, etc... These are fairly obvious things that can be done and I would like to know some of the products y'all would recommend to upgrade too but I was also wondering if there were any more subtle systems that I might not be aware of that can be upgraded to bring the coach up to today current standards a bit. The coach was purchaced at a cost that will allow me to invest quite a bit in upgrades such I chose. I have a complete shop and will be doing most of the work myself, any suggestions, ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Rusty
