  1. Thank you both for your reply. Just knowing the cap came off gave me the extra confidence to pry a little harder and it came off. James
  2. Can someone tell me how to remove the chrome cap from my tag axle on my 2011 Monaco Diplomat. It has a chrome hub over. When I remove the chrome nut covers, all the wheel lug nuts secure the chrome hub along with the wheel, so I can not remove the lugs. It looks like the cap can be pried off, but I have not been able to. Not sure if this is the correct way. I believe I have a small oil leak coming from inside the chrome hub cover. I need to remove the cap to see what is leaking. Thank you for your help James
  3. Has anyone replaced the Transmission Control Module (TCM) on their 2011 Monaco Diplomat DFT? This is the small electronic component in the left front outside compartment where all the fuses are located. The transmission is an Allison 3000-MH 6 speed. I have been told it is going bad due to various things that the coach is doing from a service technician out of my state. Plus last year, I had an electronic service tech bypass some neutral safety feature because the TCM was already acting up. I would like to replace it myself, but I wanted to make sure it was nothing to technical. I realize replacing the component looks simple, but is there anything like programming that is required afterwards? Please advise if you are knowledgeable on this topic.
  4. At the age of 60, me and my wife bought our first and hopefully last RV. We started looking at gas Class C and said not big enough to spend 7 months in. We looked at gas Class A's. First 35 footers than 40 foot. Took a test drive of a brand new gas Tiffin Open Road, then drove a used diesel pusher. Never would I go back to gas. It only took a 15 minute drive for me to know, a diesel pusher was the only way to go. I started looking at Tiffin Phaeton, Tiffin Bus, than Newmar Ventana, than Winnebago Journey, but when we found a private seller with a 2011 Monaco Diplomat 44 DFT, we fell in love. Sure, there are things I still wish for. A side radiator makes access to the engine nice, a gutter system around the roof to keep rain water from running down the sides, a patio awning that is tight and rolls out downward to block the rain better. But overall, we love the 400 Cummins with no def. Three huge slides. Two bathrooms and a huge closet. 10 air bags for a smooth ride. Three A/Cs, three vents, all the hot water two people can use.
  5. I have a 2011 Monaco Diplomat 43DFT. For the past year, the dash instrumentation will start up or turn on without the key in the ignition while parked at camp. It is as if I put the key in and turned it in preparation to start the engine. The dash and transmission display will remain on. The center dash display will have "Engine Not Running". When I do put the key in and try to start the engine, it will not do anything. In order to start, I must turn off the chassis battery cutoff and remove the two gray relays next to the BIRD switch. Then I turn the chassis batteries on and start the engine. I have replaced the ignition switch, replaced the BIRD, replaced the two small grey relays, replaced the Big Boy Solenoid, replaced all the small black relays in the electrical run box under the drivers seat area. I have wiggled wiring and harnesses. Nothing fixes this. Occasionally, the engine, if running will not shut off when I remove the key. I must go out to the electrical run box outside under the drivers seat and remove the ignition relay. Two different service centers have not fixed this because the problem is intermittent and does not act up consistently. It is driving me crazy. Any advise.
