  1. I have a 2000 Dynasty Ralph Lauren Edition. Currently for the past 3 days temps in west Tennessee have been from 15 degrees F To last nights low of 0 zero F and wind chill of 15 below F. I am duck hunting and so far my coach has maintained 77 to 78 interior temps. The OEM 2000 year model Aquahot has preformed outstanding! I have 1 portable 2000 watt electric heater in the bay next to the Aquahot. It is plugged into a power source outlet in the bay of the coach. Fuel burn is not much more than the normal temperatures when I use the Aquahot. I keep the Aqua hot in tip top shape and just replaced the burner assy and board last year, about 3GS. Has anyone else had severe cold weather Aquahot experiences. I also use 2 quarts of HOWES diesel antigel fluid. In Tennessee it is difficult to find number 1 diesel so we must treat all diesel for these severe cold weather operations. Does my coach just have more insulation than newer coaches or maybe I've just got a Coach built on a Wed lol. All comments welcomed VIPER04 TIM VICKERS DUCK HUNTING IN CAMDEN TN
  2. Lazy days in Wildwood is still set up to do your repair. Contact DOTTIE in parts. She has been there since the Monaco Wildwood days. Ask her for the mechanics name you need to work on your slide. she will tell you straight up if the RIGHT GUY still works there. She is a whiz at sourcing Monaco coach parts. her phone number is 352-330-3837. She is in today just spoke with her this morning to order the slide lube recommended by Monaco. They also gave full hook ups at their location if you have to wait in parts. This use to be the largest Monaco service center in Florida and the southeast. they are high but I'll pay that just to have someone work on my coach with experience and doesn't need a computer or manual to fix something manual /analog like a slide issue. hope this helps good luck and drive safe. 3. I have a 2000 Dynasty with a 350 Cummins. Sometimes mine will do the same thing. I discovered that the bendix was some how not fully engaged into the flywheel teeth. Don't know why but my father in law (owner operator over the road truck driver) told me to take a breaker bar and socket and move the crank about a quarter turn in either direction. Did so and Wala! Fired right up. He said he had one truck that did this until he had it in the shop and replaced the flywheel, starter and had the timing checked to be spot on. The flywheel had machining issues ie.. flat spots that when the engine stopped at certain points the flywheel teeth failed to properly align with the starter gear. Ie. The start gear just bounced off the flywheel instead of meshing with the teeth. Also a weak soloid can cause your issue. I keep a 3/4 breaker bar and socket in my tool bay thx Tim
  4. Have a 2000 Dynasty with Velvac mirrors. Are the mirror backs metal or plastic. Mine feel like Very thin pot metal or plastic. If Plastic can Dave plate them as well as the rest of the assembly? How do you disassemble the mirror backs and remove the mirrors. Mine do not have a Top Hat but would like to add one if possible. thx Tim Viper04
  5. 4 button Dometic wall thermostat replacement I contacted one of the major aftermarket RV thermostat manufacturers yesterday. We had a discussion about there being no plug and play thermostat for the Dometic 4 button thermostat. They are looking into building a knock off replacement for 250 to 300 buck range. It would have a 3 year warranty and run Aquahot either single or multi zone for one or two AC/heat units. I believe many AC units have been replaced in the past due to owners being told "bad units or bad boards" when the real culprit was just the thermostat. This replacement would use current technology and far surpasse the original thermostat and be plug and play, permanent fix. If interested please reply in mass to this discussion, manufacturer wants to get a "feel" for demand from RV owners. I have changed out my thermostat twice in 10 years and it's starting that "crap" again. This might be something that could save everyone thousands. thx Viper04 MICROAIRE 4 Button Dometic replacement thermostat Microaire is looking at building a plug and play replacement thermostat for the 4 button Dometic. It would have identical functionality of the original design and come with a 3 year warranty. Viper04
  6. We tried to pay our Dish bill by phone and online for almost a week. I had to let a Dish service guy into my brothers home to "fix" his Dish system. I asked him about my issue and that now our bill was past due because of no communication with Dish. He told me straight up that Dish had been internationally hacked and viruses installed throughout their system and all levels of Federal and other countries law enforcement dealing with cyber security were involved. Dish is currently installing a "hacker proof" new upgrade to their network systems and it is a slow process inorder to assure all customers confidental information is secure and protected. I have Direct in my coach since 2010 and had to upgrade receivers 3 times. Att messed me up with HD and knocked half my channels out due to the Winegard antenna not having the HD Lnb in it. Took some doing and probably 10 plus hours on the phone but found out I could special order an RV ready HD reliever that would give me HD. Got all my channel's back and saved a huge chunk of change. ps Wineguard still says I have a "antiquated" antenna that will not work on either Direct or Dish current systems. This reciever is a 2016 year model with no record capability. The latest and greatest will not work because of no antenna to coaxial connection on the new receivers. New old stock, we know that's the way to go. Old coach 2000 Dynasty, fix- old new part!
  7. Went from the factory Trace/Zanex 2000W to the 3000 Pure Sinewave Mangum. This is on my 2000 Dynasty. Installed a 18Samsung French door counter depth fridge. Before the Mangum install, the wife could not blow dry her hair and I run the coffee pot or microwave. Now-- can do all three without worrying about popping a breaker or a plug in fuse. One other point, ALL WHILE RUNNING BOTH ACs wide open on high settings AND the electric hot water turned on for the aqua hot. So far life is AWSOME with the 3000Mangum and no transfer switch issues. Replaced 2 with the old inverter. I believe the KEY is have the swap done by someone that REALLY KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Took me 10 years because I am in a rural area in Tn but finally found THAT GUY. best of luck just my recommendation. Tim
  8. Tom correct! I didn't know the science of the cycling. But looks like I nailed the factory recommendation on frequent lubrication. Fir 2 bucks or borrow a rubber hammer for free, usually worth a try until a replacement is secured. Tim
  9. Keep a large rubber hammer handy in the bay nearest the steps. When they won't extend or sometimes retract, I give the motor a BIG WACK. Rubber hammer cost 2 bucks at the flea market. Also spray the motor and step joints til soaked with Krill or WD40. After a few "wackings" the steps usually get the idea and work on their own. Tim 2000 Dynasty
  10. Walter thank you for the heads up. Looks like mine did almost the same. We have an old school discount supply house in town that has a ton of black pipe. Between the store in town and Lowe's or the pool supply place I should get a fix just wish I knew how to make it better but it lasted 23 years so if I get half of that I'll be happy. thx Tim
  11. My opinion is 2000 to 2004 we're models built with quality materials and the bean counters had yet to "cheapen up" the coach building process. Up to 2000 on the Roadmaster chassis the coaches had a solid steel welded framework, welded to the Roadmaster chassis. Later models were built using aluminum framework saving weight and production time because of labor and weight saved versus steel. But welded steel doesn't rattle or squeak. The slides have to function better due to a strong steel framework and less flexibility than the aluminum ones. Just my thoughts
  12. I lucked out because my coach has doors on the wall for storage of toilet paper on the bottom and towels and hand towels above it. Both cubbies are compartments that slide into the wall and are held in with wood screws. Zip out the screws and the compartments slide out as a whole unit. Good access not perfect but I think I can get to everything to replace the pipes needed Tim
  13. I am thinking about putting foam insulation around the drain pipe to prevent rubbing issues. I am sure mine broke because of the Tennessee I-40 interstate pothole virus. Saw a bad one coming but no where to go at 55mph while towing our Ram pickup. It Jared my and the wife's teeth and I even thought I heard the dog say ##%%, lol. what's everyone's opinion on the foam around the drain pipe where it flexes? thx Tim Bob thank you, looks like the pool flex pipe or hot tub pipe is the way to go. Per your and many owners suggestions. I'll have to remove the kitchen drawers, cooktop, and toilet closet cabinet insert. Luckily my lower toilet cabinet doors remove as a one piece assembly with just 6 Phillips screws. It pulls out for full access. I can get my head in there so I know as long as I can see the break I can fix it. thanks again "you meet the best people in a Monaco" Tim
  14. Thx to everyone for the leads on the repair. Looks like I'll be doing this one myself. Only could imagine what a dealership repair would cost and since a lot Od places now will not let you watch their work, you don't have that warm and fuzzy about the repair unless you do it yourself, right the first time. what size and brand of flex pool hose and any estimate on materials cost? thx My closest Lowe's is 30 miles away and Home Depot is about the same in the opposite direction. thx Bill thank you very much. Now have a clear picture of what I getting into. Just got a estimate from a mobile RV guy, we are in Nashville about 2 hours from home and he quoted 500 plus parts but said it might be around 750.00. OUCH! They look at your coach and think you're a prevost owner. 😂 lol
  15. Mine broke both behind the kitchen drawers and behind the access panel/bottom cabinet in the bathroom where the toilet is thx Looks like a complete replacement from the kitchen sink trap to the tank My drains are still all factory black pupe Pipe
  16. Anyone have suggestions on how and what materials to use to fix a broken main drain line (black plastic) from the kitchen sink to the grey water tank thx viper 04'
  17. Carl Mine broke about the same location you discussed. I fixed my break /leak, with "Shark bite" copper and brass inline couplers, available at both the orange and blue hardware stores. Mine also required a length of copper line as well. (No soldering required) Total cost is if my memory is close to accurate was approx $25 bucks counting my gas to and from the Home store. If your like me,where I needed to do the repairs was a tight spot as always! I got a friend who has long skinny arms and also very slim and fit easily into the coach compartment to do the dirty work at my direction lol. Total time for the repair counting getting the materials was about an hour. Be sure to service your unit at least annually along with a combustion chamber / sensor eye pick up cleaning and you'll thank yourself you've got an Aquahot 2000 Dynasty Ralph Lauren edition Carl jumped the gun on my reply. If you have breaks in the heating coil around your tank my suggestion is not the way to go The other members replied a rerap with copper and repaste with heat transfer paste as recommended by several of our members. That's the correct repair in a lot of cases. Visone salvage in London Ky has a supply of Aquahot units they are good to work with, ask for TREY sometimes they have parts available at decent prices and they will ship.
  18. Suggest contacting, Don't laugh 😂 too much--Camping World located next to the villages, in Wildwood Florida It used to be Alliance Coach. They (Alliance aka now Camping World)until a few years ago, were the largest Monaco service center in the southern US. The facility has over 20 service bays for just class A"s, full wood fab shop and full service body and paint booth. Also, full on site hook ups while you're waiting to get a bay and a tech. Many of the factory trained Monaco techs are still employed there. Sometimes you just got to go where the mechanics with the grey hair are--lol. My contact there is: Dottie, in parts. She has been there at the dealership no matter who owned it,for over 20 years. She knows Monaco coaches from top to bottom and which mechanics that you'll want to work on your coach. At one time they swapped out so many Nocold units that they kept a supply of Samsung residential units in stock. They were high because they were a dealer but I had no complaints on the quality of the work, it was well done. Dottie will tell you flat out the older Monaco's beat the newer products hands down. here is Dottie's number 352-330-3837 They are in central/ north Florida area. Hope this info is of assistance. thx v/r
  19. Understand all of us want to pay a fair price for a product. sometimes we get in a pinch, like your manifold. Small mom and Pop shops are still out there that charge reasonable rates for their work. Several shops will still do custom work at fair prices. contact WILES WELDING and Machine, Paris TN 731-642-2777 They are the best cast iron welding outfit I know of. They specialize in big rig driveshaft building, cast iron welding, machining and fabrication. Tell them your delima and ask for Mr Wiles, don't know if he is still active in the shop but they have a great reputation and have been in the business for over 40 years. Suggest sending them your manifold for repair. They have built custom parts for diesel pulling tractors and many other projects. ALSO CONTACT 4 states truck.com. In Joplin Missouri 855-220-8608 and give them the Cummins part number if you have it. They have a similar (from the picture shown) part on their website. Maybe they can help. Listed price not including shipping to Canada ---US dollars $249.88 positive prices will vary as well as delivery time but sometimes it is what it is thx Tim 2000 Ralph Lauren Country Club edition Dynasty 2019 Ram limited toad

  22. I believe all Aquahot owners have a ❤️ Love/Hate relationship with there units. Love them when they are working correctly and really hate them when they are not. after patching mine for many years and accumulating enough spare parts and costs to assist Space X on the Mars mission, I just bit the bullet. Called hydro hot and got a complete new burner assembly. Every thing but the combustion chamber. Also converted to the new round gauge Dometic thermostat display. Got a year warranty (WOO HOO-Lol!). Expensive for sure but, the last burner assy lasted 20 years. (With the last five years having some crazy faults time and again. pros- I been in Kansas in 5-10 degree weather and windchills Below 0. I was the only unit in the RV park NOT TO FREEZE UP AND Maintained 70 degrees. Weather lasted a long 6 days with plenty of ice and snow. If they are right, propane just cannot do what a Aquahot does. If maintained.. usually just a filter and orfice they are good to go. Suggest being careful on using injection cleaners with a old filter tends to break loose the stuff the filter catches and then your a hater once again. unfortunally there are a many untrained "mobile Auqahot " service techs that might not be straight up guys or gals. Find a good one and stick with them. The forum here probably has as much experience (and shouldered the expense too much) as most techs out there. I learned the most from a fellow Beaver owner and also safely saved 8 grand several years ago when I was told by a tech my unit was "just toooo old to mess with" had a bad leak on my heater coil. My Beaver buddy showed me how to find the leak with spray foam and use a few sharks bite copper fittings and you guessed it BETTER THAN NEW and Viper04 was a lot wiser using Home Depot instead of burning 8 grand. RV families are a good bunch and with a little learning you can keep your new Aquahot in your checking account or many other RV issues for that matter. Go Monacoers!
  23. What engine size do you have, what is your tire age have any of the Acs been changed out color rear towing camera or black and white what is the wattage on your inverter and what brand have you replaced the inverter and what date replaced since your in Flordia did Wildwood coach do your Samsung install and Maintance do you have Aquahot in your coach and when was the last service on the unit, fuel filter, cleaning combustion chamber and replacing fuel orfice what is the mileage showing on your coach and generator hours showing. How old are the engine and coach batteries. When were they replaced. any engine belts replaced? when were engine fuel filters replaced, oil and filter changed on the coach and genset. does your dash air /defrost work what type of leveling system is installed, air or hydraulic, any issues, ie.. non functional jacks electric shore power cable installed? Do you have a regular black water dump or imassarater is installed electric toilet or regular Have you replaced your transfer switch and if so, when do you own your lot the coach is shown parked on and would you sell the lot. v/r, Tim Vickers US ARMY (R) I have a 2000 Ralph Lauren country club edition Single axle PDQ, also immaculate condition.
