Another question is when using engine brake descending grades with a toad, won’t that overuse the surge brakes on the car dolly saving the coach brakes but burning up the car dolly brakes? I searched for if the brakes on the 4 wheel down toad will engage while using the engine brake. Some say yes that when the engine brake is on it triggers the coach brake lights. The coach brake lights might engage the 4 wheel toad brakes, and be burning those up while descending as well. Third option, no brakes on car dolly. Must be under 3000 total lbs and doesn’t sound safe. Think we will UBER, rent, and or e-bike unless there is a better solution.

Gonna UBER, or rent,and e-bike for now Can buy a lot of that for what it would cost for a toad and setup

The living room awning on our 2008 Monaco Cayman is separating from where it is attached to the coach. Does that require replacement? See photos of each side.

The awning over the living room slide out is separating from where it is attached to the coach. Any way to repair other than replacing the entire awning?

Our electric steps started making a noise like an automatic weapon upon retracting. Anyone else had this happen? Watch video to hear the sound. IMG_0620.MOV

Will the rig pull this easily or is it too much weight? The towing capacity lists at 7000lbs

Does the dipstick on the hydraulic jack reservoir pull straight out ? I twisted it but it just spins not unscrews. Don’t want to break it by forcing it.

In our 2008 Monaco Cayman we had a smell. It turned out to be the dried out p-trap where our washer/dryer goes. We have not installed the washer dryer so the p-trap is behind the wall in the closet where it goes. I unscrewed the plywood, filled the p-trap, added a little fragrant oil and sealed the opening. No more stink. Dried out p-trap for washer gray tank smell

I found the reservoir behind the driver side rear wheels in between the power cord bay. Opened it with the round key (two doors). When we get back home I’ll try to pull the dipstick. I tried to unscrew it but it just kept turning. Don’t want to force and break it while on the road. Will look at it at home.

Here is where the manual says it is,#19. Is it showing under the coach by the primary fuel filter. Any idea how to acces and fill it? I’ll have to climb under and see.

I see the hydraulic reservoir in the back passenger side compartment with the oil and transmission dipsticks. It looks like it takes 10-40 motor oil. The hydraulic jack reservoir calls for Dextron transmission fluid. I lifted the top stair cover, there was screwed in plywood. I looked by the radiator, didn’t see anything there. There’s a drawing of it in the manual but not a schematic of where it is. Does anyone know where to find it?

Seeking experienced RVers guidance We are trying to decide which toad setup would make more sense A lightweight manual transmission 4 wheels down we would have to purchase a lightweight vehicle that was able to be flat towed plus the base plate, arms, wiring , etc putting the weight at about 2500lbs plus 2 e-bikes and rack about 225 lbs or buy a tow dolly and tow our paid for 2003 Ford Taurus 3355lbs,dolly 400lbs, total about 4000lbs plus bikes and rack 225lbs we have a 2008 Monaco Cayman 37 ft with a Cummins 6.7 liters turbo,Allison 6 speed, towing capacity 7000lbs
