  1. Mark, I reviewed the unit, (listed) from Crutchfield for $249.99. Did some further investo and contacted Crutchfield, (tech support) about a statement on the unit which states the unit will not work unless a certain wire is not connect to the vehicles park system. I explained to the tech that I plan on installing it in my coach, (05 Monaco Knight) that is equipped with a push button gear selector and to my knownledge I was not aware of any such method of my OE unit. I inform the tech my old unit worked off a off/on switch on the dash. May I asked what did you do in that situation? Thanks; Woody
  2. I changed my OEM dash radio ( Magnadyne) with a same size unit. I switched wire to wire for the new unit and it does not work. I found every wire behind the radio was white. The flat dash front has switches for the radio cut off, gen start, entrance slide cover switch and a pocket I guess for a cell. Again, all wires are white. This is very confusing.
  3. Martin: Great job, I just love to see DIY type of guys making improvements to their coaches. I am also a DIY guy and believe in doing things myself. So take a view of what I have done to upgrade all my tv's to a smart tv. Up front I installed a 43" smart tv using Harbor Freights moveable tv mount, slightly modified for its purpose. Now, I knew that the overhead cabinets would be a problem before installing, so the HF mount was chosen because of it ability to swivel side to side. I modified it in that when traveling, I insert two pins to keep the tv in flush. I used 1/2" adhesive backed window weather stripping and installed it on the cabinet edges. The bottom corners were fitted with soft foam to just in case you bump your head. The big tv does not rattle or shake when the coach is in motion.
  4. My right Velvac rear view, P/S mirror arm. is loose and excess to the tightening screws or nut is not excessible. Wondering if any Monaco owners have had this problem with their mirrors? If so, how were you able to tighten the arm?
  5. Frank you listed a wiring harness for 2006 Monaco Knight and I have a 2005 Monaco Knight, so my question, is the wiring harness the same for both years?
  6. Guys I replaced my old stock unit, (Magnadyne) with a 10" touch screen with bluetooth, GPS and much more from Bangood for a reasonable price, ($200+), now I had to do some mods to the console because the unit covers my switches for Gen start, radio switch and step cover. I simply just use my fingers to excess behind the unit and operate the switches.
  7. Ref; flyinhy; After careful measuring of the closet inside space and also obtaining measurements of the Splydein combo unit from on line, I purchased Whirlpool apartment size washer dryer set on line very cheap, ($1150) back in 2020. Because of all the traveling, never had time to install. Well, 2022, cost of living rose, along with fuel prices. Ok, time to install that set during less rv'n. I did not have to remove anything to get the units up and through the rv, BUTTTT, I did needed a strong young helper, (thank goodness for those grandsons), helper for lifting. My rv was plumbed for the Splydiine washer combo from the factory, which also was the tall closet. Installed the washer first for fitment, and found that a plastic tub for the bottom would not fit, "you just cross your fingers and hopes you never have a leak" situation, or re-construct the bottom of the closet, no it was not a option for me. Secured the washer from the rear using extended band to the closets 1.5" studs, plus the weight of the dryer above would aide in not tipping over. Really nervous about drilling a hole through the exterior wall, ("whew"),. Also to aid in tipp prevention, I made support brackets out of 1/8th" aluminum, being held to the closes rack and riveted to the top of the dryer, that puppy's going nowhere. I will include as many pics as I can below, follw along
  8. Currently I own a 2005 Monaco, (Knight) PDQ with four slideouts. My issue with the slideouts are when I push either switch to let the slideout in or out I get nothing. Its been a on going problem since I bought the coach and I'm tired of it. The front slides motors I have excess too located in the storage compartments. I unplug the motors from the system and insert the leads of the jump box to let the slides in or out. The back slides motors, I have no excess to them, I can hear them running, but their locations I do not know. Pushing the switches at times they work, and more often then not they don't. I'm thinking there must be a relay somewere going bad. I have had it in the shop several times for this matter and they seem to work fine afterwards. Then after a few trips, they go through this same routine. Any Monaco owners out there have experience this problem? Woody
