  1. Your Knight almost certainly has such a connector, but the symptoms you're describing don't quite align. On my Signature, the cruise control functions are sent to the engine over J1939 communications. Most likely yours is hardwired from the VIP smartwheel controller to the engine. The tie in with the headlights being on leads me to wonder if you have poor ground or possibly a high resistance connection in the 12 VDC supply. The download section has troubleshooting for the VIP smartwheels, you're in year range the smartwheels were changing to the clockspring system, so check that what you have matches the guide. I'd concentrate on the voltage measurements, and take them with the headlights on and off, and the functional tests to see if the cruise outputs are working, again with the headlights on and off. Good luck!
  2. I've been fighting this issue since I bought my 2008 Sig (yes, Kongsberg) in 2022. Symptoms: (intermittent, and not consistent) while driving, cruise control stops working, Medallion panel display reports engine communications failure, VORAD cruise reports fault, stops working (also stops cruise), accelerator pedal non-responsive, hard shifts. Except that the cruise would not work, the other problems resolved within a few seconds. At beginning, cruise would come back after stopping coach, turning ignition off and restarting. Later, this action did not resolve cruise problems, or fault re-occured within seconds/minutes. I pursued various J1939 monitoring options, and checked all the J1939 bus connections I could find/reach. Finally, today, I found the 3 pin Deutsch connector to the engine severely corroded. I strongly suspect this has been this way since leaving the factory, based on how difficult it was to get to the connector through the floor hatches and cutting many tie wraps. The connector was difficult to pull apart, and the silicone seal fell into my hand when the connector did release. If you're having similar intermittent issues, consider pulling the hatches and find this connector. I'd been blaming the Kongsberg, but it turned out to be something very basic, and once identified, fairly easy to fix. Well, assuming you have the right 3 pin Deutsch connector, crimp tool and shrink wrap. IMG_0927.HEIC
  3. I've had a similar issue with my 08 Signature. Turned out to be the city water connection pressure was too high. Put the pressure regulator in and the slow, uncommanded fill stopped.
  4. Thanks for straightening me out Frank, when I saw adjusting the dimmer changed the PWM of the 5 volt line to the smartwheel, I assumed they were using the same on the other panel lighting. I know what assume stands for, I just keep forgetting to apply it.
  5. I used Coretec LVP to replace all the carpet in my 04 Camelot (galley and bath were factory porcelain tile) and was very happy with it. The only place I glued it down was on the step cover. I did end up using the seam glue everywhere else, as it greatly eased the installation with the lubrication on the click surfaces, as well preventing any separation down the road. The install instructions only call for seam glue in limited spots. Coretec also provides various transition pieces, so even with the floating floor, there were no gaps. One of the reasons I chose Coretec was the composite constuction, so there is no potential for water damage to the LVP, and the cork backing so I did not need any other layer between the OSB sub floor and the LVP. There were a few spots on the seams of the OSB sub floor that I used a belt sander to level across the seam. Also, in the cockpit area the tile had a radiused transition to the carpet. A diamond blade on my angle grinder straightened that up. The LVP is noticeably "warmer" to walk on than the porcelain tile when it was cold.
  6. I used this one, rated at 1.5 A (3.0A with extra cooling), but surely way oversized, and supplied it with 12V. HOWEVER, I intercepted the 5V at the base of the steering wheel, so the 5V is only supplying the VIP smartwheel (and it's backlights). If you intercept it down by the front CCM, I suspect you have a lot more current draw, as that supplies all/most of the other back lights in the panel. The CCM is using PWM on the 5V signal to dim the backlights. On mine, the "on" time voltage was about 5.2V, which messed up the voltage levels coming across the data lines, a steady 5V into the VIP smartwheel allowed the front CCM to correctly identify all the VIP button presses. As mentioned earlier, the 5VDC issue is ONLY applicable to the coaches with the Kongsberg CCM (mid-2008 Sigs, Marquis, and I think later Dynasty). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0758ZTS61?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 Great info in downloads for the Smartwheel. In particular, "SmartWheel Troubleshooting Guide - 2006 1.0.0" listed all the voltage levels to expect on the "data" lines.
  7. 08 sig isx 600 allison. My Pto pump decided to pump all the fluid into the air rather than through the hoses. Looking for good shop to rebuild or better yet exchange for an already rebuilt unit. Anywhere in conus is fine. I have a shop to do the removal and reinstall. Thanks!
  8. Thanks All! Barry from Josam's: 9" for 08 Signature (call back within 2 hours, great service!) REV support: 9" for 2008 Signature (answer within 2 hours from monacocoach.com website "contact us" submission, more great service!) Also, found the "parts list" ... if you don't know what that is (I didn't), go to downloads at the top of the page. Wow, what a great resource! And, from the Monaco technical tips (also in downloads): ride height can be adjusted up or down a maximum of 1" to affect ride height. RAISING the ride height SOFTENS the ride (seemed a bit counterintuitive to me, but it's due to a longer amount of compression). Note this is from Tech Tip #199 - Tech Tip #20 actually says the opposite.
  9. Anyone have the correct ride height for a 2008 Signature? Just purchased this and looks like it's riding "low" ... some of that, I'm sure, is that it just wasn't designed with the ground clearance that my 04 Camelot had. As I understand from the manuals, you measure between the top and bottom support plates for a "specified distance" -- but no mention of what the distance is! Thanks!
