  1. Here's what my transfer switch looked like. It was a progressive dynamic pd52. The shore power side of the relay failed two days ago, taking the charger portion of the inverter with it when it went. Luckily that was all. I could not find an exact replacement that was within driving distance, but I found a unit by Southwire that had the same spec's and the same input and output direction of wire feed. Now I am just waiting for a replacement/upgrade inverter, and in the meantime, I am using an external battery charger to keep the house bank charged. Bob K 06 Knight PLQ
  2. Scotty, Here's another woodworking project you can do at the same time, replacing the flourescent overhead lighting with dimmable LEDs that are remote controlled. Since we all seem to have time on our hands... Bob K. 06 Monaco Knight
  3. a4epilot Yes the cooling was an improvement. We spent an entire summer in hot and humid central Florida and were happy with the performance. Well worth it. The units both have heat pumps which helped out during the cool mountain mornings at 8,800 feet last summer in Colorado. Bob K. 06 Monaco Knight
  4. I replaced my front and rear units with the 15,000 btu models a few years ago and have never had an issue with power draw. Used the existing cable and upgraded with the 10 button controller. I also recently installed the Wacko A/C Silencer on each unit which substantially lowered the sound level and helped to increase the airflow through the ductwork. Bob K. 06 Monaco Knight
  5. There's plenty of information on the internet on how they function, here's one example: https://www.trailerlife.com/tech/diy/silent-treatment/
  6. I also installed them on both my a/c units. A very noticeable reduction in sound levels and also an increase in airflow through the ductwork. The a/c units seem to have an easier time cooling down the coach, and don't run nearly as long. Since we are full timers it was a worthwhile investment. Bob K. 06 Monaco Knight 40 PLQ
  7. Last month I decided to replace the overhead flourescent lights in the coach. I never cared for the way the lights were wired. It seemed that the lights up front had more voltage while the overhead galley light struggled. I found these under cabinet LED lights on Amazon that had a remote and were dimmable. The lights were offered in different versions, daylight and warm white. The wiring in the kit allowed me to connect them all together and operate them from a single remote. Originally I thought I could run the wiring inside the ceiling from light to light, but was unable due to obstructions. I wound up using the a/c ducting as a conduit to run the wiring from fixture to fixture. I used 1/4 inch birch for the base and trim was from Home Depot. Sherwin Williams matched the stain on my cabinets to the wood I was using and they did a great job. The result is a much more pleasant lighting with plenty of illumination and 10 levels of brightness. Bob K 06 Monaco Knight
  8. Two years ago at the HR 419 Maintenance Rally, I installed the Watts link on my Monaco Knight. It all but eliminated the body roll going into tight corners and made crosswinds easier to handle. I still have the Shepard steering box, but it is still pretty tight and the coach handles well. Well worth it. Bob K 06 Monaco Knight 40PLQ
  9. I removed mine a couple of years ago using the Ugly Shield Remover. It worked well and left the clearcoat intact and looking like new. Here is the website where you can order it. https://uglyshieldremoval.com/contact/ Bob I 06 Knight
  10. Hello Chris, Hope to see you then! Our Guardian Plate installation is working well. Bob & Cheryl K. 06 Monaco Knight
