  1. Robbie, We have an account with Fed-Ex and they will pick it up. Larry is good at building shipping containers ( he shipped a 600# torque wrench to another Monacoer) 602-625-4000 is his cell number but he doesn't get up until after 10 AM PDT, if you want to talk with him. We were watching a movie so didn't see this until now when I went to turn off the computer. Ellen (&Larry)
  2. We have one we took off after a few 1000 miles. It is off of our 2004 Executive. Normal wear on the back (looks rusty) from several 1000 miles. The Stainless front is in good shape except for some cement over spray from when the wall around the place was done but water and elbow grease will take it off. We would like $100 plus shipping for it. We are in HOT Phoenix (stuck here). It is heavy and it takes 2 80's year olds to pick it up. Or you could visit AZ when it is cooler to pick it up. It has two chain shackles on it. Sorry the pics aren't any better but it is hot out (112º) and it is heavy so we did not move it except to turn it over (we keep the Monaco side down) it is also hard to see exactly what I'm taking a pic of! 3. We are stationary due to health reasons, in North Phoenix, on an 80 ft X 20 ft pad with full hook ups, under and all steel 23 ft X 80 ft Steel Cover. We are trying to reduce amount of electrical supply needed from daughter's home. They have 45 Panels for their system, on top of our RV Cover, which will not hold any more panels. They have 4 battery bank systems and inverters in their garage. Our old 400 watt system was not even producing what one of the new Maxeons is capapable of! I just completed Fabricating frames, with tilt-able systems for seasonal aiming, for the panels. I installed 3 qty 415 watt, 36 Volt Maxeon Panels on top of our car trailer and 2 qty on a storage trailer, both with the tilt-able systems for seasonal aiming. A Total of 2075 watts will provide over 60 amps of power to 2 qty 2500 watt Zantrex Inverters and 4Qty 400 amp LiIon Batteries, for our total electric 2004 Monaco Exec. But the Renogy system, won't handle the 60 plus amps with the previous supply cable run to the coach. So I am switching to a Series System, with higher Voltage and lower amperage. All of this is being done so kids, in their 60s, can see a return on their gigantic system! So far we have been eating their Solar production to the point that they haven't see any credit. I hooked up 3 of the panels, which gave them an $80 plus return this last month! Although they have seen a little return, they would like to see more Credit for their solar production investment. So we are selling a Renogy Rover 60 Amp MPPT Controller with Bluetooth Dongle, which has only been used 9 months. We are only selling because I'm upgrading the system because the new 200 Volt requirements of 5 new 415 Watt Maxeon Panels, which I am going to change over to a Series system that will be to high for the Renogy. They are still hooked up in Parallel and working great now; but I need to switch, because of wiring limitations already in stalled for previous system. Selling for $250 for complete system listed on Amazon for $324.98, plus tax, which I paid for a total of $357.68. So save over $100 The system is on and working now, but limited by wire size. I will be replacing with 250 Volt Vitron system, which will be here tomorrow and then I will remove the Renogy Rover 60 amp, 12/24/36/48 Volt Controller, battery temp, and Bluetooth dongle, and rewire the system in Series. The Renogy will auto adjust for input of 12/24/36/48 Volt to Charge a 12 Volt AGM, Lead Acid, or LiIon battery Bank, like almost all RVs have. Go Solar, great of charging and maintaining an RV in Storage. Again Save over $100 on a Renogy Rover 60 Amp controller charging a 12 Volt 1600 amp battery bank, (4 qty 400 amp LifePro LiIon batteries) on a Stationary Monaco Executive Motorhome, due to health.) You can see our tilt-able systems, when you come buy the Renogy.
  4. NOTE - ALL ITEMS HAVE BEEN SOLD. Back in the day, I was taught in the US NAVY to be a Jet engine mechanic and attained E5 in 3 years. Torquing a nut or bolt requires smooth, steady pressure, until the required and or setting has been attained. If it is not a smooth and continuous pressure, it will not be an accurate torque process; especially if a jerking motion is required to reach that last little bit of the specification. NOTE: A torque wrench should never be used as a breaker bar, PERIOD! Do it right; or don't do it! Torque multipliers work: BUT, only if you have a long enough wrench bar, of the proper strength, without bending, to power the multiplier in a smooth continuous pressure movement, with an impact rated extension bar. It needs to be impact rated, so as not to absorb, the torque force, but to transfer it smoothly. I've watched so called"Tire Shops" torque our wheels, and when I re-torqued, they were off sometimes as much as 100 ft lbs. That is why I always re-torqued our own wheels. I have an ATD 109, 600 ft LB, Torque wrench that we carried for over 15 years in our car trailer, for sale. I do not need it any more, because we are shut down, in North Phoenix for the duration, due to heart issues. The length of the 600 ft lb wrench and the beefiness of it allow for smooth torquing, as required for proper torquing. Wrench has backed off to Zero to maintain it's calibration, as required of any torque wrench. I also have a custom fabricated 1" breaker bar with a solid 1" insert rod to allow leverage to loosen tightened nuts or bolts.NOTE: A torque wrench should never be used as a breaker bar, PERIOD! ATD109 is in a metal case, with handle. Note: new 2505 model has cheap plastic case. ATD 2505 3/4" Drive 100-600 Ft.-Lbs Part Number: ATD-2505 Made in the U.S.A. 6. The biggest issue (in my opinion) is NOT the inverters or the SCC (solar charge controller), it is the alternator. Currently (if your rig is standard), the alternator will charge the lithiums whenever the engine is on. This can cause two problems. 1. The batteries will take all the current your alternator will provide. This will cause the alternator to run at 100% until the battery is full or the alternator overheats and dies. 2. Lithium’s do not like to be kept at 14.x (14.0 to 14.4volts) all the time. They like to be charged full, maybe an absorbing charge for a little while, then the charger turned off - or at least dropped to a float voltage of 13.5v. There are a few ways of solving these two issues. 1. What I did was to break the connection between the alternator and house bank. Now the alternator no longer charges the lithium’s. I did add a 30a Victron Dc-Dc non-isolated charger. This will charge my lithium’s at 30 amps when the engine is running. That is pretty slow. If your 400a bank was down 210a (just over half down), that would take 7 hours of driving to recharge. 2. There are some devices that will turn the alternator charging on and off so it gives the alternator time to cool down. LiFePO4 Battery Isolation Manager (BIM) is one I have heard good things about) Depending on your rig, the engine battery gets topped off when there is excess current in the house battery (like when you are plugged in), you need to make sure this gets worked out if it gets disconnected when fixing the alternator issues. Now once you solve the alternator issues… The RV-45D solar charge controller, There may be settings that will “ kinda work” for the lithiums, but I would consider replacing it with a Victron MPPT 100/30. That will handle your 400w of solar. (Or maybe go more solar and get a bigger SCC). (See below on temp compensation and equalization - they MUST be disabled. The same with the inverters- there may be a settings that will work - Gell might be close enough… but you MUST disable the temperature compensation and the equalization. Both can charge the lithium’s WAY too high of voltage. in my opinion you want the most common charging source for how you use your rig to treat the lithium’s exactly how they want to be charged. This could be as simple as disabling the charger part of the Trace’s, and adding a dedicated 120v lithium battery charger. My trace inverter was dying on me so I replaced it with a Victron Multiplus inverter/charger. Later when I put in the lithium’s- I just adjusted it to the lithium settings I wanted., Rocketman, thanks for the reply.Chargers After much research and talking to a friend that use to be an engineer for Xantrex, back when the SW's were King (15 to 20 years ago) So he told me some of what you are saying. So, I'd already ordered the Controller and got them today. Also I found out that if the Battery Management System (BMS) is working properly, it will not allow the batteries to overcharge., especially when the SW Inverters Chargers limit the charge to 150 amps each; combined 300. Since each battery has a 200 AMP BMS, there should be no issue, since all of the charging except for Solar, is done through the Inverters. I'm getting ready to order 4 AmpereTime 300AH batteries as they have setting that match what I was told to reset on my Inverters. I also am changing the Solar Panel System from 24V to 48V; which will allow me to ad a lot more panels and use existing wiring, since we are stationary and living next to our daughter and son in-law until the Lord Jesus takes us home. More Voltage equals less AMPS to push and the, however my wife says if it takes 2 tails I use 4. So this is what I just rec's today : Renogy 60A 12V/24V/36V/48V DC Input MPPT Solar Charge Controller Auto Parameter Adjustable LCD Display Solar Panel Regulator fit for Gel Sealed Flooded and Lithium Battery, Rover 60A will handle all that I will ever ad and is said to pass more Vs and Amps through that enter. The engine batteries will be disconnected from the Charge Controller, because the R45 D has a separate connection for Solar to Charge those bats. On older coaches, like our2004 Exec, that were before their time in Technology; today they are work-arounds, repairs and mods, just to try and catch up a little! At 81, it keeps the ole mind from going completely _ _ _ _ __ _ _ ! Ohhh Soooo MAanyyy projects and my daughter and dis-abled son in-law have a few for me too. I will update with whatever happens in the coming months. Have a Blessed day, and Thanks again
  7. We have an all Electric Monaco Executive with 2 Trace 2500SW Inverters with 400 watts of solar and 5 Qty 8D AGM batteries. We are thinking about converting to 6 LiFePO4 Battery 12V 400Ah batteries for Electrical backup for power outages, which are on the horizon. I am knowledgeable and capable in the Electrical Field, but do not have manuals on the RV45-D in our Coach to show how to change settings, etc or what settings to changes in the Inverters for Lithium batteries. Battery supplier says it will be a custom mfg for the batteries and they will come with a charger. before we invest $7K in batteries I would like to know ho to hook up to our Silver Leaf. monitoring system. I will be contacting Silver Leaf Next Monday, since this is a Friday, which always happens. My question is: Will the RV45-D work with lithium batteries and our TRACE 2500SW inverters
  8. We've used two different companies while we were in Phoenix with one the original contact was in Tucson at a Rally. Shade Pro 800-328-5100 Stacey Coates with Awnings R US AZ 480-414-2444 We have been happy with both of them. Larry & Ellen Clark 2004 Monaco Executive SBW Fulltime for 18 years, now stuck in AZ
  9. All the info is great. However let's do the same for gasoline, diesel, Natural gas, vehicles, motorhomes, etc. All have at least one battery, some have four or more for cranking and starting. Then you have the aluminum, steel, copper, and other metals, and let's not forget the tires, brake pad materials, etc. Then there are the oil and gas wells, the oil shale, etc, which pump pollution into our atmosphere, fro the diesel engines that power the well, mining, equipment, etc. Fracking leaves voids in the Earth, which will eventually come back to bite us in the butts! All degrade our planet. Then there all the chemicals used to add to the "modern" Diesel engines and the emissions equipment on all late model vehicles. Diesel engines are not modern: they just have pollution equipment added to help clean up their emissions. Manufactures just keep adding equipment and redesigning old technology! We have to quit building roads and highways, too much pollution form the machines that build them. Let's go back to dirt roads If you do the stats you will find the only true green transportation are horses and buggies as the Amish and some Quakers use; all natural God made travel providers! Maybe we should just hook up 500 horse or so, and pull our motorhomes around the country, but you had better have a trailer behind for all the horse manure that those ponies will drop along the way! Indians use to walk thousands of miles to Winter, or go to another hunting ground etc. Bluntly put: Building anything, to create any kind of energy pollutes or tears up the planet!
  10. I don't know where you are located but Stacy Coates from AZ RV Awnings R Us 480-414-2444 has replaced all our awnings on our 2004 Executive. They are Carefree and we had to replace the cases over the slide outs since the originals are no longer made. It has been several years (2013) since he did that so I don't remember the exact reason we had to replace the covers too. Just a month ago he replaced the slide toppers as the stitching came out. We ordered gortex thread this time for the new toppers since we are in AZ and get lots of sun. We like the fact that he comes to us and we don't have to move. (we are fulltimers) He did the measurements first, then ordered the fabric and when it came in he installed them all. Larry & Ellen Clark 2004 Monaco Executive SBW I posted when I didn't want to just yet! We had a bad wind storm that tore out our slide toppers so our insurance covered the replacement.
  11. A Norcold came with our all electric 2004 Executive and we had nothing but problems with it from day one when we picked it up in Coburg in May 2003. Monaco ended up replacing the Norcold with a Whirlpool in Sept 2003, changing out the drawer below and putting in a cabinet above the frig. We have been very happy with then Whirlpool as it is twice the size of the Norcold. Larry & Ellen Clark 2004 Monaco Executive SBW 42
  12. We have an 04 Executive and there are 2-3 screws on the engine side at the bottom of the box at an angle and 2-3 screws on the drivers side wall at an angle, square drive flat heads. We have had it off many times more than we'd like to remember. Just use a screwdriver and run it along the edge and you will find the screws. Larry & Ellen Clark 2004 Monaco Executive SBW
