frankogrly
The fuel injector pump on my 01 Endeavor with an 8.3 Cummins has a slight leak. Has anyone used an additive to soften the seals to stop the leak. Frank O 01 Endeavor By fogrco@... · 2:32pm
jacwjames
Are you sure it is the injector pump. In most cases it is the Transfer/ lift pump, which runs ~30 seconds to prime the injector pump. It is located curb side right above the starter. The lift pump has 3 bolts that might be loose, some people have had success tightening these bolt. I found a source for the gasket, I carry one for a spare. I ordered it from Capital Volvo of Montgomery AL. It cost ~$8 when I bought it, PN 4928511. If you have access to the Cummins Quickserve site you can look up the transfer pump, my part number is 4935005, yours may be different.
Dr4Film
Frank, Are you referring to the lift pump or the CAPS fuel injunction system if you even have that one?
frankogrly
The CAPS.
Dr4Film
Frank, Not good news! Good luck on attempting to repair the CAPS system. I don't know whether it is or isn't. Most people that have had leaks or problems they have replaced with a new CAPS. First it's hard to get to and a new one is VERY expensive.
