Slide topper model

Does anyone know which brand and model the slide toppers on a 2005 Holiday Rambler Ambassador might be? I realize they might have been stalled after purchase but I’ll accept a first guess.

I got all four slide toppers from Stone Vos. Tried working with Shade Pro but they just couldn’t get it right. Not toppers though, a dash cover.

Don't worry about the brand and model, just take your dimensions to the  Throgmartins (also RV'ers), at Stone Vos (http://stonevos.com/) in Florida. They have a choice in materials and I'm sure one of their materials will match your currently installed toppers.

I need a replacement endcap so I need to know the make and model of my current toppers. I do not have a build sheet. Does the current manufacturer of HR supply build sheets for 2005 models?

Are you speaking of the topper fabric or the mechanism? My 2005 Safari has Carefree of Colorado, which may be the same as yours. Stone Vos is your best go to for replacement toppers (fabric part)

This is the end cap for SOKlll. If yours tapers to a point almost it is the SOKll which was discontinued. Check eBay maybe for parts if Stone Vos can’t help you.

SOKll Discontinued. As far as I know. Start with talking to Stone Vos.

If discontinued and parts aren’t available from manufacturer it’s the same situation as the unavailable endcaps for Carefree’s windshield  shades. Perfect case for 3D printing.

Definitely Carefree of Colorado. I haven't seen this variation before. Usually the topper doesn't have a complete aluminum cover when rolled up, only a deflector. Yours looks like a cross between Carefree Omega II and Kover II (both obsolete I think). I suggest you contact Stone Vos as they do some 3D printing and may take on this job for you.

It is a Carefree SOK 2. The supply of end caps in the USA are pretty much gone. I have not been able to find any.

Is Jaimie correct? Do you do 3D printing? A lot of parts like this should be easy to 3D print.

Found these on ebay a few minutes ago.

Try waderv.com for the Dash Cover. They will send you a paper template to trim to size, and return to them. Great quality. We had them make entry step carpet covers, with velcro to keep in place, and remove to clean. Also made a cockpit area carpet. Sent template for trimming to size as well.

That part (looks like a snail) is the end cap of the Carefree of Colorado SOK II (discontinued).

If you have a 3D printer (or access to one - Local public library, almost any college engineering student), you can download the model and print it for the cost of the filament (about $3).  I just printed a replacement for mine in matching silver. You would print yours in black.

www.Thingiverse.com has a bazillion printable parts like this (Dyson vacuum parts, car parts, all kinds of stuff)

Thank you Paul

Shadepro did the same. Sent me a paper template to make another one but then emailed me they couldn’t do it. I will definitely give waderv.com a call.

Yup, those are the end caps for the SOK II that you are looking for.

I just 3D printed mine (ok, my 5th year engineering student printed them for me) because I’m allergic to paying $200 for plastic parts I’d have to repaint anyway

You can leave them as they come from the printer (with a slight surface pattern) or spray them with high build primers, lightly sand and paint your favorite color. Remember, they are 12 ft off the ground and the raw 3D printed ones look just like the originals at that distance.

3D printers are down to $150. A spool of black filament is $20, and will last you a looong time.

The Ender 3 regularly goes on sale for $149.
Creality is selling it, directly, for $213 right now. It's a legit budget printer.

Do you need a 3D scanner and 3D printer?
