Chargerman Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 I installed a new A/C and a CCC2 thermostat a short time ago. Ran fine after installing. Coach has been in storage and I went down to do a few things. Thermostat has no power. Is there a fuse for it somewhere. Checked front and rear bays. Nothing there
jacwjames Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 I have a 12 volt fuse panel in my bedroom. It has a 15 amp fuse for the front and rear AC's.
timaz996 Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 I also have a 12 V panel in my bedroom in the upper rear passenger side compartment. My fuse for controlling the ACs is only 5 AM.
Chargerman Posted November 25, 2022 Author Posted November 25, 2022 I had forgotten about the small fuse panel in the wardrobe closet where the Intellitec modules are located. The is a 2amp fuse labels “A/C controller”. Fuse is good. Rear A/C and thermostat function properly. Swapped out the rear thermostat for the front one. Front thermostat works on rear unit. Going to look at the A/C connections in the ceiling at the new unit tomorrow. Thinking maybe a wire or the phone cable plug may have disconnected when I was securing the wire bundle.
Tom Cherry Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 If you have overhead or 12 incandescent lights, not the salesman switch If all fuses are OK, and a blank thermostat, you have a phone line connection issue. COMMON, especially with a seasonal change, The REAL fix might be to get NEW inline connectors. Assume you have 3 AC. Most likely there are 2 in front and 2 middle and one in the rear. You can get a can of ELECTRONIC (not electrical) cleaner and spray the male phone plugs and the female dual inline connectors. The Thermostat gets it power from each of the control modules. There is a 12 VDC line from a single fuse that goes to each one. After you clean all the connections, then plug and unplug them a few times and make sure they are seated. Typically, new dual inline connectors are installed. Since you have lost the “system” or circuit, you will have to do a Thermostat RESET. I don’t know the sequence or buttons on the CCC2….so read the manual or Google it. Anytime you have a functional system and lose a zone or the entire system, you have reset and let the thermostat find all the downstream devices. This is PROBABLY the problem. More complex would be that during the installation one of the phone lines connecting each unit got the phone plug damaged. Folks have had to reterminate them sometimes… Keep us posted.
jmatusic Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Check the fuse closely. I had a fuse that looked good but checked intermittent with a meter. One of the legs was barely movable. Upon close examination, the plastic case was cracked on the side where the leg was movable.
amphi_sc Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Check the 12v fuse in the roof top unit's control board.
Chargerman Posted November 26, 2022 Author Posted November 26, 2022 Thanks. I will check that fuse tomorrow. Didn’t make it down to continue my search today
Solution Chargerman Posted November 27, 2022 Author Solution Posted November 27, 2022 So I got back down to the coach. Started by getting on the roof to check the fuse that Al mentioned. These are new Penguin II units. There is not a fuse at the controller in these units. I checked the 110voltage while I was there and all was good. I then went inside and lowered the ceiling valance and removed the filter and there it was 😳. Clearly when I zip tied all of the wires together the plug for the thermostat wasn’t happy. Pulled a little slack and plugged it in. All is well. Whew. We all need a simple win now and then 1

I dare say that 90% of all the posts in the past have been fixed by such. Now, as a two time victim, who has a NEW set of connectors, just in case....IT HAPPENS. Good deal. I personally would recommend buying NEW connectors and having them on hand. It is interesting that Monaco never bothered (lazy or took extra time) to zip tie up the wires. Yours looks neat. DRIVE ONE....
