So I brought the "big boy" home to do some upgrades, one of which is the Onan auto start,  I believe I have answered my own question however I wanted to here from you that already have it or one like it installed.

My AGS kit has many features, battery, temp, time in which can push the genny to start, in its start up protocol I know 'Naturaly" once the engine starts there is a timer which postpones it turning on the load in which time it allows the engine to get ready. If I have it set to run the heater portion of my duo therm roof units will there be a problem in start up? ALSO will there be a issue when the Genny turns off under load, at first I was thinking the transfer switch would have issue, but then I remembered on Genny power the contacts are normally closed which means they should not have arcing cause the switch is not changing power input to the load. However there could possibly be a issue if I was on shore power, (say like during summer heat) both a/c units running, then shore power fails, Genny starts due to rising temp, roof units then come on line, then shore power comes back on.

Also is there any other issues I need to confront that I don't yet realize with auto start, Thank you for all who contribute

Not an expert on this

I installed an AGS Onan EC30W  wireless unit (not the greatest but the best they had the time ~2012)   bought it for the temp monitoring to turn generator on in the event we lost shore power and temp in the RV got to high it would start the generator and the AC's would come back on.

If power goes out there is a time delay built in, maybe ~2 minute, at which point the generator would start BUT there is a time delay on the generator from when it starts before it starts sending power, maybe a minute.   The AC's would be set to come on, the fans come on first but there is a ~2 minute delay before compressor kicks on.

I've tested this several times.  When were ready to leave a site I'll flip the breaker off to simulate a power outage.  A little while later the generator starts, and then the AC fan comes on, then the compressor.   Never had a problem while testing it as I believe this is the what the system was designed to do.

BUT, once the generator starts and the power comes back on I'm not sure if the generator shuts back off, haven't tested that side of it.  The remote for the EC30W would sense the shore power coming back on, but will it shut off the generator I don't know.  May have to test it.

The ATS usually has a delay when it switches to gen power ( mine is set to 15sec), and, like Jim says, the AC / heatpumps usually have a 2min delay as well.

Pretty sure my Magnum AGS wouldn't shut down the generator when shore resumed until the run time I have entered timed out. But I've never tested that.
