Rick A
2005 Monaco Diplomat. Isn’t 145 PSI too high, and is this a failed Air Protection valve, where ever that is?
DavidL
"Air Compressor and Air System Pressure - You should be aware of common air pressure thresholds of your motorcoach’s brake system. The air pressure gauge tells you the adequacy of the air system. Air compressors typically have a “cut-out” pressure between 110 psi and 130 psi and a “cut-in” pressure about 20 psi lower. Air pressure build-up from 85 psi to 100 psi should take 45 seconds or less. While driving, observe the air pressure gauge during build-up to ensure proper air system operation." https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/sites/fmcsa.dot.gov/files/docs/brake_safety_systems_02-14.pdf Edited May 8 by DavidL
Frank Bergamo
Your air governor should cut out at 120-125 PSI. 145 PSI is a bit high. The governor has an adjustment under the plastic cap. CW will lower cut out pressure, CCW will increase cutout pressure. Some people set them higher to have the ability to air up tires when the max air pressure is called for. Hope this helps.
Solution 96 EVO Posted May 8 Solution Share Posted May 8 Bit high. Your system protection valves won't open till 150psi. Myself, I'd make an adjustment on the governor to get it down to 135-140psi.
