Engine oil sending unit on 2004 Beaver Monterey / 350 ISC Turbo

Recommended Posts

The oil sending unit on my 350 ISC Turbo failed.

Does anyone have the part number # to order a new sender ?

I took RV to Cummins in Coburg and the one they ordered did not work.

It's been a week and they still don't have an answer for me.

Also,  can the sender be removed and changed with oil in sump or does oil need to be drained before replacing ?

Thanks

Darrell Terry

Are you talking about external oil pressure sensor? These are typically at oil filter level or higher and may leak a drop but not enough to worry about draining the pan. My sensor PN was actually listed in the manual along with some other parts prone to failure.

Most of these coaches use two oil pressure sending units.  One is installed by Cummins and reports to the engine ECU only.  The other is installed by Monaco and is wired to the dash red light as well as the gauge.  Monaco usually used a VDO number 360 023 with two outputs, one to the idiot light and one to the gauge.  These sending units are available on eBay as well as Amazon and are used on all kinds of vehicles including dune buggies.

Check your owners manual.  Many of them have the oil pressure sending unit part number listed near the back.
