Guest mbandwb Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 On my 2000 Monaco Dynasty electric bedroom slide, the motor stops working while sliding the room out. It happens at different times and points. It seems to me that the electric motor stops working, then resets after waiting a few minutes. It appears that the prior owner had issues with this also, as they added a separate relay on the bedroom slide that resets after a few minutes. This slide has carpet underneath it that the rollers sink into, which adds to the problem. The steel plate in the center that has a flat gear on the lower side that engages with the motor shows a small amount of wear. I spray lubricant on the top of the steel plate which helps it slide a little easier. Over the years I've had many RV friends look at it, but haven't had any success making it run smoothly without stopping. They've suggested adding a metal or wood plate under the wheels of the slide so that it will roll easier, but that would sit outside of the bottom of the bed when the slide is out and be in the way and not look too good. Any ideas on a fix for this? Has anyone had the same issue? Thanks, I appreciate any help with this.
StephenW Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 I had a rear bedroom slide that moved in and out slowly, after checking under the slide I noticed the rollers digging into the carpet so I replaced the flooring and installed metal strips just where the rollers traveled. The slide moves steady in and out with no hesitation now.
timaz996 Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 I had a problem with my slide and when I lifted up the bed so I could see the mechanism operate a lot of the mounting screws to the floor of the slide let the mechanism jerk back-and-forth. Once I tightened up the mounting everything has ran smooth sense.
Gary Cole Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 The bedroom slide on my Diplomat has steel rollers which keep it above the carpet. I plan on adding a steel plate on the bottom of the wood glide in order to reduce friction as others mentioned. I also limit the weight in the storage compartment as the slide motor is moving this weight in addition to the weight of the slide out. I also noticed that its necessary to clean the aluminum slide ways on a regular schedule. Next time I look I plan to take the weight off the roller bearings and spin just to make sure they are still good.
