Keith H.
I checked and there is a topic about rain gutters but none explain how anyone negotiated the front end cap and Girard awning head. Also, the angle of the lower roof line is at such a position that putting on rain gutter spouts seems useless since they don’t stick out enough and are at a weird angle. IF you have put on rain gutters and spouts and don’t mind climbing a ladder, could you post how you worked out the front passenger side end cap gutters/spout conundrum? Please and thank you! jacwjames
I have a rain gutter across the front on my coach above the windshield. I was separating from the front on the coach in 2012, it pulled it completely off and cleaned it up. It was attached to the front with two sided 3M type tape. I put it back on and then used the black urethane adhesive to cover the seam and blend it into the windshield gasket, smoothing it with WD40 on my finger. Had to redo a section in ~2020, I didn't take the old completely off but reattached with 3M taped and did the urethane again.
Keith H.
@Jacwjames any pics? my concern is it running UNDER the head of the girard awning and then down the front doir and over my new side cams, not to mention the possibility of it getting inside the coach somwhow

jacwjames
Here is a picture of my rain gutter, this is the passenger side of the windshield. I believe this was original from factory. The rain gutter is a separate piece then the windshield seal, it is attached to the side of the coach and then black urethane is used to blend the two together. From a distance it looks like one piece.

Ali-026
Not for the front/rear caps, but I put side gutters on our previous motorhome (2000 Windsor) Also wanted to share the following video which might provide some guidance on installing side gutters with Girard awnings (starts around 7:30 mark)
Keith H.
I am so worried that water will creep into my awnings, Girard, fridge, windows, etc., that I finally not only laid a strip of gutter along each side with spouts but over each of the awnings, etc with drip spouts too. For water to be so essential to life, it sure can screw up a motor coach
Trevor and Laura
Hi, I've been watching, had hoped to have the roof painted to help with those streaks, but don't think it's going to happen this year.. gutters should help and wondering if anyone has had success with the vinyl stick on type like "Trim Lok".. Some cheaper stuff on Amazon did not have good reviews. Thanks Trevor T
Keith H.
I have had some decent success. I think it all depends on the prep work and how your gutters are laid out. in places where I didn’t clean off ALL debris, left over residue, left over silicone, etc., the gutter separated from the RV. If it is debris free, then degreased and then denatured alcoholed to be sure the RV skin is CLEAN CLEAN, my gutter are staying put very well so far (2 years). I also ensured the gutters have one high point and gradually and evenly run to one or two lower points. I actually ran a string with baby powder from high poont to low points (at the end of front and back). I “POPPED” the string to create a straight line and followed it. I also ran “troughs” under my ACs condensation drip tube, to funnel the water directly to the gutters. I also ran gutters at angles at the front and rear endcaps so water that might fall onto my windshield or down my back towards the gutters.
