stuff4sale09
Had code 3, then code 27. Need help Onan 8HDKAK11451K, ran generator 2 days ago worked perfectly, went to start it this morning and nothing except the starter solenoid will click and then starter clicks, no turning over of the engine. So i jumped the solenoid and it will turn over just fine, but wont start (batteries are good 🙂 ) so i pulled out the generator removed most of the covers to look for corrosion or loose wires, none found , upon researching code 27 it says bring to authorized service center. Would the fuel shut off solenoid cause this code. Is there any thing else that i can check before bringing it to Cummins. I can repair most anything except black boxes and circuit boards, but i try. thank you

96 EVO
I had a code 27 on my 10KW Onan, but luckily it was just a spade connection had come apart.
Ivan K
Since you never got the generator running (if I read it right), I personally would suspect that the code 27 is bogus. How could it detect AC if it wasn't even running, just slowly cranking. I would focus on getting the generator started. I had code 27 on 12.5 kw but it would start first, then shut down in seconds. I don't think shutoff solenoid (motor in my case) would prevent turning it over.
