granvillebarker Posted November 17 Posted November 17 I've successfully decoded the protocol used by Aladdin between its modules. As a result, I've developed a replacement module for the Aladdin tank level module. This new module can transmit Garnet Bluetooth Tank Data back to the Aladdin interface, allowing you to monitor your tank levels as usual. Additionally, it captures data from the AC, DC, and Compass/Temperature modules and integrates all this information into Home Assistant, including the tank level data. If you're interested in this module, please let me know. I am looking for some others to test it. -- Granville Barker 05 Dynasty 6
1nolaguy Posted November 17 Posted November 17 Congratulations Granville, that is quite an accomplishment. I would be glad to be a beta tester if I have an Aladin system. Unfortunately that was not included in my 05 Safari. I will keep this link for future reference though.
Chad A Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I am interested but not sure exactly what this entails. What does this do that my Alladin does not? Thank you
96 EVO Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Cool! Wish my Aladdin jr was capable of showing tank levels.
Jim Roach Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I do have an Aladdin system that is currently problematic. What do you need? PM me if you want.
Jetjockey Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Interested, can you supply more details of installation requirements and cost
RVerBob Posted November 18 Posted November 18 All my function work on my Aladdin except my tanks are off (froze) I believe it's the sensors. You have my attention, I will be following this post.
rajchapman Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I would be interested in converting my sensors out to something that works.. everything on my Aladdin system works except the tank levels.

If your Alladin is working properly, it will pick up all the data and send it to Home Assistant so you can view it from your phone. Home Assistant is a home automation system that runs on an embedded computer. https://www.home-assistant.io/ I have tied all my lights, cameras, etc... into home assistant on my coach. If your Aladdin doesn't show the tank levels right, you can get a Garnet Bluetooth Tank Level monitor, put it on your tanks and my module will pick up that data and send it to Aladdin so you can see the Garnet tank level reading on your Aladdin display. Beyond that my module could be used to log communications between your Aladdin controller and other Aladdin modules to help diagnose problems if your Aladdin isn't working right. 6 hours ago, Jetjockey said: Interested, can you supply more details of installation requirements and cost The SeeLevel unit is about $245, you can find them here: https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Garnet-709-BTP3-Seelevel-II-Tank-Monitoring-System-p/709-BTP3-1003.htm These aren't too hard to install, the hardest part was getting wires from the back of the tanks to the wet bay. I mounted their display in the wet bay and put the sensors on the other end of my tanks. ( It wasn't too hard to install but I wouldn't call it easy. ) The module I have to read the levels from that module and send them to Aladdin, I am thinking about $250 for it. It will replace the Aladdin tank monitor module, usually in the top of a storage bay. It has 2 screws and a wire that you plugs into the Aladdin bus. It's a really easy install. 13 hours ago, Jim Roach said: I do have an Aladdin system that is currently problematic. What do you need? PM me if you want. Are you having issues other than holding tank sensors? Edited November 18 by granvillebarker Left out module.
pcpronze Posted November 20 Posted November 20 This sounds very interesting. I am only missing the tank sensors on my Aliddin. The fresh seems to lose accuracy and need recalibrating quite often but the black and grey just don't work . The items listed show that it is a blue tooth unit. Will the non-Bluetooth work and wire to the module? Thanks, Paul Pronze

So you do need the Bluetooth SeeLevel for this to work. The See Level sensors stick to the outside of your tank, and I have not had to recalibrate them since installing them a few years ago. It’s nice to have those values back in Aladdin.
cbr046 Posted November 20 Posted November 20 I'd like to see a bluetooth only system. Garnet sells one with bluetooth but that included the $140 display. I'm talking sensors and (something like) Raspberry Pi. - bob
pwhittle Posted November 21 Posted November 21 It would be cheaper to buy the Garnet one if you just want Bluetooth. Granville is talking about restoring Aladdin functionality that is normally lost when you upgrade to SeeLevel. My original sensors are terrible, but it costs less to upgrade to SeeLevel than it is to replace the sensors one time. Paul 1
