  1. I had 2 NAPA 12v Wet Commercial starting Batteries with18 Months Free Replacement part # 7236.

They lasted 8 years which I think is pretty good in Florida, especially when I don't use my RV that much.

They were $236.68 total for both, out the door.

Just priced 2 new, same model $363.54 includes 20% promo till end of April.

    Reserve Capacity

    175 min

    Cranking Amperage 1170 A
    Cold Cranking Amperage 950 A

Is that a good deal or any suggestions.

I have a 2001 Monaco diplomat Cummins 330. When my starting batteries run low, wondering what the proper procedure is for using the auxiliary start switch, which is on the panel to start the engine using the house batteries. I read once you have to hold it down for at least two minutes but I'd like to know some opinions or processes.

Also, should or can the generator be running?

  3. Maxxair 00-965007 Turbo Maxx 3-Speed Fan

My Max air vent cover was damaged after the hurricane a few weeks ago.

It was very brittle due to the age of my RV 2001.

Spoke with the company that made the vent cover, it is no longer available.

Already went through a bit of a rainstorm no leakage inside, as there is a cover over fan that can be opened from inside RV, but I would like to get it outside covered just in case.

Any ideas on repair or replace, fan works fine, it's just the cover.

Not sure if you can separate the two.

I duct taped (used a lot of tape) a trash bag firmly with cardboard inside for stability, it blew off within the first 10 miles of highway travel.

Any ideas on repair shops, parts or jury-rigged thoughts.

I'm at Gamble Rogers State Park Flagler Beach Florida, will be heading towards Tampa and Clearwater next week.

  4. RV stored in Florida for two years with Well water in tank (100 Gallons). Want to refresh and clean out house water tank. Read in an RV book:

    1. Drain water tank completely refill halfway with clean water

    2. Mix 1/4 of a cup of household bleach for every 15 gallons of tank capacity in a container with a gallon or two of clean water.

    3. Pour this mixture into the water tank and top off the water tank with fresh water.

    4. Drive the rig around the block a few times to mix the solution.

    5. Pump the bleached water out of every faucet, at least a quart. Run the water through the hot water tank thoroughly.

    6. Let water stand for a few hours. Then drain the entire tank including the hot water tank.

    7. To remove bleach odor mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with a gallon of water and pour into the fresh water tank. Circulate that water through all faucets and hot water tank.

    8. Let sit for a few days drive the rig around the block a few times then drain the system and fill with fresh water.

Any other ideas or any corrections to what I just wrote would be greatly appreciated thank you,

    Hmmm.

So you left the shop with full air tanks. He would have likely drained all three tanks before changing the filter. That air got into the tanks after he put the new filter on somehow.

    This one is a headscratcher.

I was in the RV as it was changed. If they fully drained the tanks I would of heard the low pressure alarms when I started the engine.

Do the tanks ALWAYS get drained when changing the air dryer filter

  6. Need recommendation on various general repairs as close to Clearwater Florida but will travel within 100 miles of home.

Have had work at Lazy Days and Alliance in Wildwood FL before but always looking for the latest recommendations.

Also Camping World in Tarpon, usually disappointed there.

Awning, replace waterpump  (house water), power steering gearbox leaking.
