What is the general consensus on running the gen when dry camping.  I start at 12.0v or 85° and I run for 1.5hrs.  Is that average or would running for 1hr be sufficient.  I have four 6v AGS batteries 300ah. 6 years old but still take and hold a decent charge over 12.7 v.  Any suggestions over what I'm doing.  Main question is should one hour run time be enough to recharge?

I was dry camping a number of years ago in Quartzite AZ with a bunch of Monaco coaches. I ran my genny in the AM for about an hour and the same in the evening. At the end of the week the coach wouldn't start. Dead as dead. My genny started off the chassis batteries and Cummins told my when you start your genny it takes three hours to get your chassis batteries back to where it was before you started the penny. After that I have always run my genny for about 4 hours.

Yes  John  and  Bill Fauber a  RoDger made all the arrangements it was Coushatta Casino  just north east of Lake Charles ( Fauber is not doing well now)  it was just before the Frog Rally at Raine la put on by Monaco. Rodger put a get together the next year at the Paragon Casino  in  Marksville La about south east of Alexandra La. Both of these have a large RV park  also Hollywood Casino in  Bay St Luis MS has a largeRV park.

John i have been staying busy gardening and paying with my Tractors and going to the Auto Auction  on Thursdays  at my advance age we dont use the Coach a lot but i keep it serviced  and ready to go if needed. It was so good to here from you John  and i hope you are doing well.

Walt,  I am in a state of shock. How long has it been ?  I hope everything is going well with you. Remember our Sunday night chats.  What was the name of the RV Resort in Louisiana  that was discussed ?  I think it was north of Shreveport ?  It was owned by an Indian band.

  5. I have been a member since Bill D. stared the group many years ago. After a couple of years of doing the rally at Lazy Days it was discussed trying new location. There was a real nice RV resort at an Indian Casino in Arkansas or Louisiana I can't remember which.  Well considering we have a large number of members in Florida that didn't want to travel anywhere else the rally location has remained in Florida. When Bill D. was still alive we talked about making a trip back but never did. It is just too far to travel from Palm Springs to a three day event in Florida.
