This was checked last fall, and has not been driven since I parked it for the winter last October.

OK, thanks for that advice.  Our Monaco is plugged into shore power the entire time it is parked on our property, but i will double check on the starter batteries for voltage.

Shore power will charge the house batteries but not the start batteries.

If you're going to start the rig off-season for "preventative" reasons, you need to let it warm up fully before you shut it off, otherwise you might be doing more harm than good. Letting the fluids circulate and at normal operating temps will boil off any moisture that's accumulated in them, lube the seals, etc. (or so I've been told). And yes, fully charge your starter battery.

Thanks.  We will run the rig for longer when we do.  We actually have lived in our RV fulltime for over 12 years.  We used to travel and "workamp" but have been pretty much stationary as of late.

  3. We had a similar problem with our 2000 Monaco Diplomat after the rig had been parked for about 9 months.  Our batteries were not charged enough to engage the transmission.  We started the rig about once a month and let it idle for about 15 minutes.  It was an expensive lesson.  We had an "expert" out.  All he did was start the rig and let it idle for about 45 minutes.  Once the batteries were charged enough the transmission engaged.  We replaced the batteries soon after.

I considered doing the conversion but I did the dollar bill test on the seals and they were not tight like they should be and I understand they can't be replaced.

You can't replace the seals but you can replace the doors.  Years ago (about 7) our seals were separating.  We used duct tape to keep them together.  Sealed great.  Recently the unit bit the dust.  We replaced with a 10 Cu Ft Frigidaire ref/freezer. We have storage next to.  We already had and still have a 10 Cu Ft so we have equivalent of 20 Cu ft.

  5. Over the last 20 plus years with trailers, 5th wheels and our Class A 2000 Monaco Diplomat we have never run into gauges that work.  Learn your tanks, your usage, and dump on a schedule.

  6. I'm with the others that tout AAA.  We have had their RV Plus for years.  Several years back we had to have our 38' Class A DP towed less than 10 miles from the edge of Oklahoma City, OK to a Freightliner dealer.  Our master onboard computer system had failed.  It took hours to have he drive train (?) disconnected so the rig could be towed.  The bill was over $800 then (about 2015).  Am thankful we didn't have to pay any of it.

I'm looking to upgrade the sofa's and chairs in my 04 Camelot.  The current furniture is Flexsteel.  Can't find much data on Flexsteel.  Found a fair amount of data on shop4seats.  Prices are a little on the high end but still doable.  Haven't checked any reupholsters.  Currently in San Diego but live in Florida.  Not sure if I want to do all this on the road or wait until I get home.  Does anyone have any advice on which company to go to, or if the hole patterns line up if I change brands?  Any advice will be appreciated.

Flexsteel exited the RV furniture business.  Do not purchase the brand that Camping World offers.  It is junk.  Go to or research one of the companies that does upgrades like Dave & LJ's in Woodland, WA.  See what brands they are working with - will be high quality.
