I installed the Blacktech air bags (#RML 79376) on the rear of my Diplomat in 8/22 and have since travelled about 3000 miles with no issues. FYI I also changed the ride height valves, air line fittings and shocks at the same time. I would recommend planning on replacing the air line fittings when you do the bags, mine were the push in type, they had so much road grime and were froze, I just cut the hoses and I changed to compression type.

Thanks for your input Ken. I received 2 bids for the project from local shops and they both were approx. $1200 with me removing the sofa and taking the pcs to them.

My rig has a 74" wide Sofa/Air Bed. The vinyl outer layer is delaminating from the base fabric. 

Has anybody had the sofa air bed re-upholstered? Did you have any issues? General cost? Any input would be appreciated. 

I want to keep my repaired hinge as a spare "just in case" so it is not for sale. I used an arbor press and slowly pressed the hinge panels after I removed the pin until they were flat and the pin loops were lined up and straight. I then installed a new pin and welded the ends back in just as it was originally manufactured.

I see your biggest challenge will be supporting the door while you have the hinge off for repair.

I worked in a manufacturing business so I did have a wide array of tools, metal and skilled craftsman at my disposal but this could be done in your home workshop if you have a welder and an arbor press. My hinge is manufactured from 300 series stainless steel.

I had the same issue, I needed to replace my door hinge due to it being bent (sprung) from the door flying open after the top arm failed during the previous owners tenure . Below is the manufacture of your hinge based on the pictures you posted

I did extensive research and found the manufacturer but unfortunately they do no manufacture our hinge any longer. I purchased one from a salvage yard at a very very high price. (Hingecraft told me the hinge sold for around $15 each, I paid $150)

I did take my bent hinge apart and straightened it and installed a new pin (pin is welded in) so I now have a spare.

I agree with keeping it simple. Maybe I'm over thinking the challenge of sliding the genset out of the motorhome. The genset cover is hinged to a 2" square aluminum tube that seem to be fiber glassed to the front cap, which makes removing the alum. tube a big project in its self. If the tube was out of the way, a fork lift and strap would do the trick.

I have a 2003 Diplomat with a stationary Onan 7.5 Kw genset. To service the unit (I don't mean changing oil and filters) I mean changing belts and hoses, it will have to be removed from the nice pocket Monaco stuffed it into when it was manufactured. Does any one know if a slide out tray can be added to my Dip? Does anybody know who manufactured the slide out for gensets that are on a slide?

I added a Tekonsha Proportional Brake Controller to my 2003 Diplomat. I had to add the "Blue" 12 ga. wire from the front to the back as it didn't exist. I ran the wire thru the conduit tubes under my floor. I used an electrical fish tape to pull it thru. Before I pulled in the wire I put it in wire loom to help avoid any nicks or cuts in the wire. BTW, I put in a "spare" along with my brake signal wire just in case while I was doing it.

This is a project I intend to tackle soon, thanks to you guys for doing such a great video. It makes so much more sense after seeing it during the process.

To make the new Penguin II work with your 5 button, you will have to install a (CCC) 5 button control board 3311557.000 located under the shroud. On the other hand if you want to update to the 12 button thermostat (CCC2), you will have to change the control boards on all units controlled by the 12 button thermostat.

I replaced my 2003 Diplomat ducted 13.5K /HP BTU units, (1 was Penguin II, 1 was Duo-Therm) both on a zoned 5 button thermostat, with 15K / HP and 12 Button thermostat. I did this myself with a little help positioning the units on the roof. The BTU of roof units did not impact and mounting or control wiring in any way.

The front unit was replaced before I bought the rig, it was the Penguin II, replacing it was simple, plug and play. The rear unit was Duo-Therm, instead of an electronic board under the shroud like the Penguin II, the control panel was inside a metal box and was attached inside the filter cover in the ceiling. (very old school compared to the Penguin II) My biggest oh XXXXX moment…there was no 12v power wire in my opening for the rear unit. I called Dometic and received no useable info from them, they would not let me talk to an application engineer nor could they explain how that unit got the 12v control power. After some discussion with my local Dometic dealer/installer, he told me that the 12v signal needed for the control side would come from the data line (looks like a phone plug jack but it is not the same). In the end everything was plug and play, you have to set the dip switches to your configuration. (ie what zone and any options you have)

I will never have that failure again. I removed the line and the icemaker from my coach.

I had my icemaker line split in the middle going down the road, my pump was on and it made a mess on the floor. I have ceramic tile but your coach may be different. I would check that if you have an icemaker.

When I purchased my DP, the scissor arm was missing, so after researching I ended up using the information referenced by a poster on irv2, ( I don't recall who) I installed a gas strut.  The gas strut has worked out great with no issues with it the last couple of years. I think in high wind you should hold on to the door when opening for the obvious reasons.

I am at Happy Days RV Park. It is right beside Bahrs Propane. The park told me Bahrs delivers on Wednesday's.

I really don't know how long  i can go on a full tank. My expected use is cooking only unless it gets cold and I need my furnace. I have an onboard 38 gal tank.

I just received 2 new Penguin II 15k A/C H/P and a 10 button ccc2 thermostat to replace my old 13.5K units.  Ordered from Camperid.

If the PTC fittings are metal, there is a brand (camozzi) bodies are all metal.

The plastic PTC fittings (Legris) work just as well.  

Do a google search for Camozzi Air Fittings.  You will need to know tube size and thread pitch.  You picture seems to show the fitting is screwed in to the block

By the way, the ring that is missing is pushed in to remove the plastic tube
