  1. Only solution we came up with was to turn off the fridge overnight and keep the doors shut. Freezer won’t hold at 2% and hits closer to 33. Cooler side stays around 36%. Have also turned off the inverter to save power. Once again this only happens when off grid and boondoging. Should the alternator be charging both house and chassis while driving? The unit is 2012. It does not charge the house setup and we have had to drive with the gen set on.

I have a Monaco Knight 40pdq with 4 new 6volt Lifeline AGMs each with 330 ah. Total out put fully charged is 660 amp hrs. Over night dry camping our frig will turn off and low battery will be indicated. Everything else is turned off. Also while under power driving same issue where inverter turns off. Have to recharge with the gen set even while driving. Can the alternator be redirected to keep the house batteries fully charged. Can’t believe the electric only frig can drain the battery pack. Any suggestions appreciated.

With many connections especially around the engine I think those are probably getting damp along with some of    them may be a little corroded.

I think it was Van that had issues and went all over his coach pulling each connector apart cleaning them up along with the ground connections, troubles went away.

Unfortunately shops are not going to take the time to do all of that.  Now that's not to say they might not stumble upon the problem by accident but if you are able and willing to get dirty you can do about the same thing they would do, clean up connections.

To old to be climbing under the coach. Thinks we may have found the problem with a loose connection to the ECM. Will need to wait until the next rain to see if it is fixed. Thanks for your advise.

  4. This is the 3rd incident that our Monaco Knight has stopped running during heavy rain fall. We are able to restart the engine but when we press the accelerator it stops the engine. Once the unit drys out which may take hours or overnight the unit can Rev up to 2500 or more without shutting down. We have spent well over $1000 in repair centers trying to reproduce this issue to no avail. Had one location pug in the computer to read the incident and it didn’t show up. Help.

  5. When we purchased our 2012 Monico Knight the steering wheel had considerable play. Of course we were told all coaches drove toile that. We started with all new tires and Koni shocks. It was better but not great. We later installed a steer safe hydraulic stabilizer and discovered that the pitman arm in the steering column was within one turn of falling off and loosing control of the coach. Needless to say it was addressed along with the steering assist. What a difference. Lastly we replaced all 8 airbags at considerable expense but peace of mind that we now had a safe driving machine. Good luck in your process.
