  1. Disconnect batteries at their terminals. Shutting off main disconnect doesn't kill all power. I also recommend unplugging engine and transmission ECMs to isolate them from voltage spikes.

  2. Very odd, on all my vehicles including 2001 Monaco executive the fogs are only on with low beams. Are your headlights plugged in to the proper plugs and in the right cavities? I've seen instances where body shops reversed the bulbs.

  3. I have a 2001 Executive with an ISM 500 in it. 26K miles on it. I bought it with the red warning light on. It drove ok but was obviously derating. I determined that the ambient air pressure sensor was bad and replaced it which shut off the warning light. I also replaced the temp sensor and the manifold pressure sensor. Today I took it for a shake down ride and the performance is notable improved. I noted that the boost pressure was pinning the 30 lbs gauge when I accelerated hard. I never noticed the boost pressure going past 25 before the sensor changes. Question, is it possible that I'm seeing an overboost condition? I know I have a VGT but I'm not sure how to diagnose turbo problems. I'm concerned that I'll trash the engine if I don't look further. Thanks in advance for your time and advice.

  4. I looked up code 111 on the Cummins app and it says it's due to internal failure of ecm circuits or supply voltage. Interesting that you say the engine still runs as the app says condition is a no start.

I'm a retired auto mechanic and IMHO if it runs with good oil psi and normal temp, I'd drive it without worries. Hope that helps. Good luck.

  5. Hi, I removed diamond shield from a 2005 intruder.

I did the job whilst in Florida because you must have warm temps. I used a heat gun to soften the film and then sliced off strips with a plastic chisel that I bought from Amazon. Then I used citrus solvent to soften glue, using the same scraper to get most glue off, then paper towels to get the rest. You have to go slow and cover the ground under your work area. It's tedious and slow. Took me 3 days. There is a company in Florida that charges 1200 for removal. Next time I take it to him. Lesson learned.

  6. I just bought 8 Michelins using the FMCA program. I bought from Barnwell House of Tires in NY. Barnwell said that their inventory of tires is very low so there were few choices in the size I wanted. They said that they had 100 tires on order from Bridgestone for over 6 months and waiting.

There were codes that they were chasing down, it’s been a year so I can’t remember what they were, I have the paper work in the coach but it is in the storage lot. It is very hot and smokey in Seattle so I am staying put for a couple days I will look ln a couple days

Thanks Tom, I'll wait for your update.

  8. I just bought a 2001 Executive. I noticed a red "warning" light was always on. The previous owner said it had been on for years and nobody knew why.
The owners manual eluded to a possible low fluid condition but I find everything is full. Anyone have this light on their rig?
My coach has a Cummins ISM 500 and I can't identify a troubleshooting method to zero in the cause of the light.
I checked for DTCs and there are none. I checked the wiring diagram and see that the "warning" light is triggered by the engine ECM.
The coach runs well. I drove it home 350 miles no issues.
    Thanks in advance.
