  1. Dave, we have an ‘08 Monaco Camelot 42pdq.  This past summer, we had a heck of a time trying to find an electrical fault in which power was not being distributed correctly.  Of all things, it turned out to be the reel.  Inside the reel are electronics that seem to be problematic. In researching the reels and rather often issues with them, we took it out.  The wires from the exterior of the reel are easily spliced.  Yes it is a bit annoying to have to place the power cord back into the coach, but the peace of mind is worth the extra five minutes.  You might find a used replacement at an rv salvage.
    Good luck.

  2. OK. Found the issue.  Two to be exact. The light switch had corrosion on the contacts where the power to the markers go.  Electrical contact cleaner made short work of the corrosion and the marker lights came back on. As for the high beams, a loose wire at the base of the steering wheel and of all things, the high beam indicator light fell out of the socket, so no light.

Everything is now working correctly. Thanks for the assistance!

  3. I have an unusual issue that I can not solve using standard diagnostics.  I have a 2008 Monaco Camelot 42pdq. None of the marker lights, tail lights or high beam will come on.  I have checked every fuse, switched out relays to make sure it wasn’t that, retested the fuses and each fuse and relay is good. Turn signals, brake lights are fine. Logically, it should be a fuse ir relay. It’s the combination of no high beam or marker lights that get me. My coach is not equipped with daytime running lights, but I jumped the relay and the high beams came in. No luck using the smart wheel either. Any ideas would be welcome. Dash and switch lights do work.

  4. 2008 Camelot 42pdq. I know it's in the coach somewhere, but the coaxial cable for the original CB antennae on the roof is MIA inside. I've pulled the side panel, top dash panel, removed the front drawers, crawled around under the dash and no joy. According to a tech that buiult the Monaco coaches at the factory, the cable should be inside the lower panel under the air brake pull. I give.
    Help?
  5. CB radios may be “old school”, but having one in the coach proved to be worth it’s weight in gold when (pre TPMS), a trucker called us on the radio to alert us to a flat trailer tire. Also, finding out about an accident in real time vs. Waze, etc., is a nice feature.

As for the ground plane, I have not been able to find info on what, if anything, the antenna is connected to other than the roof. Our coach is an 08 Camelot 42pdq.
