Getting my 08 Monaco diplomat ready to go the the Monaco gathering, yesterday I checked the water heater and it keeps kicking the bedroom 20 amp breaker.
I switched breakers but didn’t help.
I put new heating element in also. It works good on gas but not 110 v. It’s a Atwood water heater .
Any suggestions what to check next ?

My comment is my experience and also a lot of research.
FIRST AND FOREMOST. I have spent a lot of $$ on chassis and suspension upgrades. My story and history has at least 3 or 4 members that followed the same path. I have the Blue Ox TruCenter and Source Engineering front and rear sway bars and the larger diameter SOURCE Bilstein shocks up front and regular Source Bilstein on the rear and a Watts link. My MH came with a TRW Steering Box . It is about as good as you will get and drives and handles like a dream. I tow a Yukon and have a C7 Z51 Stingray Vette. I have over 75k in MH…65 in Camelot. My wife says I drive more aggressively into curves and exits in the Camelot than with the Yukon.
I have the same chassis as the OP. SO HERE GOES. In order of best handling and best value
First…look at your build sheet to see if you have a TRW or a Shepherd box. There are many posts on replacing the wobbly Shepherd with a TRW…INCLUDING pictures. If the OP has a Shepherd, verify the replacement TRW and do that or have it replaced.
Install a Watts link. I did mine. Relatively easy. See the posts here. Mike Hughes has a superb kit. I did not opt for the rear X braces as I think my rear stabilizer bar is doing the same job.
You have already done shocks. Shocks improve the ride comfort and not the “handling”. See how it drives and wait….if you want to reduce driver fatigue….keep reading and add a stabilizer.
Add a front stabilizer. I chose the Blue Ox. It has an adjustable or centering control. The Chassis specialist from one of the steering stabilizer companies was hired to help design the Blue Ox. You need a “trim” control. That was the advice.
After I bought mine, Hendersons in Oregon copied the Blue Ox design. The are a leading front end specialist and work on the Roadmaster chassis. They sell the best Non Adjustable Brand, BUT HIGHLY recommend their trim or adjustment kit. Or buy the Blue Ox. Many chassis savvy folks put on the Blue Ox and I got several recommendations from some shops and good “drivers”.
Stop there. Yes, the Source sway bars are GREAT. But I think the stuff above will accomplish a whole lot more for less $$. I HAD BOTH sway bars on and it drove a heck of a lot….and I mean a LOT better after installing the Source items. But the Watts kit made the most difference. Maybe I don’t need the Blue Ox, but it was the first chassis upgrade.
My opinion..others might (will..LOL) differ….but you asked.
I’m planning on attending the Monaco Gathering in February, I have a 2008 Monaco diplomat 40 ft , how can I find information on the Watts link installation ? Like how long does installation take ? Is there a place close to the gathering I could have it installed maybe a day or two before the gathering or after, while I’m in Florida. Will be coming from Knoxville Tn.
Thanks , Hubert Wells

I have a 2008 Monaco Diplomat, can’t get my wet bay heater to work .
I installed a new heater nut still will not come on. The system heat light doesn’t work either , I’ve tried when the temps are below 40 degrees.
I have tried several times to locate the snap disc , but unable, even had it at Lazy days in Knoxville and they couldn’t locate it , they said some did not have them installed, could this be correct ?
thanks for any input .

Has anyone taken their motor home to Martha’s Vineyard ?
I understand they can take a 40 ft on the ferry .

Thanks, this is helpful.

I’m looking at the tire minder i10 or the eez system I like what I see about the tire minder although it does have a transmitter to install at the rear of the coach, which would be no problem for me , I do most of my own work.
anyone have experience with either one of these of these ?
-
Thanks for replying Scotty, and yes I am going to get a TPMS before my next trip I’m all about safety.
-
Not familiar with the TPMS , my first RV .
sounds like I need to look into that .
thanks

I have read several post about higher prices , lazy days wanted $1500.
Buddy Greg motor homes , Kevin in Parts is where I purchased and then took to the tire shop . The kit came with a socket but not the spider .

Yes, peace of mind knowing I’m doing all I can , safety for the grand babies that ride sometimes.
They did balance the tires , I drove about 20 miles on interstate at different speeds No vibration ,all smooth

Any one have experience with the Tyron Bands in front tires? I just had these installed on my 2008 Monaco Diplomat.
$890 for the bands at Buddy Greg motor homes here in Knoxville, $95 for installation at David’s tire on Rutledge Pike.runnning new Michelins but always concerned about a blowout, hopefully these will help if that ever happens.

I was just reading a thread by Mike M talking about finding an electrical connection for his Jake Brake when cleaning his engine, and rather than jumping in on that thread, I am starting a new one. I tried searching, but did not see a discussion on this topic of cleaning your engine and chassis, but I may have missed it.
How have you gone about cleaning your engine and chassis?
I am tired of looking like a grease ball every time I just do a little work around my Cummins ISL 400HP or under the chassis. It is not leaking fluids, but over the years it is obvious whenever the chassis was greased or engine serviced, no one would ever bother to clean up the spills or extra grease. Even about 1/4" build up in some areas.
So I am about to tackle this project and thought I might ask for ideas. I know it might be obvious, but I am always shocked by the ideas from this forum that I would never think about.
Thank you!
I just washe
I just cleaned my ISL 400 in my Monaco diplomat. I put plastic up in the bedroom and put my pressure washer hose thru the window. Also put some plastic around my alternator.
I sprayed engine degreaser and let it set about 10 minutes.

Hi Chuck , just curious , did you remove your fresh water tank ? If so any pictures?
looks like the same setup as my 2008 Monaco Diplomat. I may have to remove mine in the near future.
Thanks
