  3. the tensioner 3936213 is a exact match i have on site. A new idler pully seems to be a bit smaller but some reading indicates that the belts are tight to get on . I was able to get the belt off with a old school craftsman 1\2 ratchet and i have a repurposed floor jack handle as a breaker bar that slipped over the ratchet, access under the bed 2 trap doors . Maybe the john deer idler now being a bit smaller (3\8) inch will go on easy and still work well.

    thanks ,

can't find length specs on belt 3972375 mine measured 83.9 inches, other belts researched have come in 10 to 12 inches short and mine is unbroken . I think Monoco for whatever reason made a change on this 8.3 that clearly did not have a ac belt and a alternator belt, just one belt. I can use the old idler pully if i have to but the belt, belt  tensioner and idle pully all 2004 . I am considering the john deer idler pully as a close substitute . Was looking for guidance on someone who already been down this road. the picture of the john deere idler pully with the oblong slots and number ntn 6203lax30 is stamped on the bearing

My spare part bin is increasing

  4. yeah , unfortunately the book shows 2 belts and Cummins stops at the tensioner, the motor configuration with one belt has a larger idler pulley . NAPA parts clerk could only find the name of the bearing , stamped on the bearing . Talked about pressing a new bearing in ? this ntn 6203lax30 is stamped on the bearing I think i have read that the 330 is on combines............ but the size of the wheel is smaller by 3\8 ish . Not sure if that changes belt length much.

  5. original owner since 05 I found cracks this year in my serpentine belt after inspecting new radiator hoses install before last years trip. The manual said two belts but I have 1,  83.9 inch belt Napa measured. This generation 2004  isc was short lived in rvs and the isb hp was tuned to replace the isc 330hp The Monoco manual shows 2 belts. Looking through NAPA catalogs with parts person could not find idler pulley with the right diameter . I have a rear radiator. Anyone have info available. Would like to repair once, at home now no hurry. pics included

Cummins supplied the tensioner, but engine configuration maybe decided by motor home mfg. NAPA Belt # gates 8PK230\K080839 was recommended by Napa auto parts

  6. i found most drill screws used to mount things have sharp drill ends and they chew up my hands. second time in i decided to eliminate half of the cover because it could help me with ease of maintenance. i have been rightly told my finish up skill is rough, i agree at times. most Pex plumbing fittings are hand tight . I used a small mirror to discover and remove screws and fittings at times. when i do the repair i try and make the next time easy by modifying, i have owned this knight since 05.  Basic skills and time will get the job done

  7. Thermostat more info copy and paste from klm:

    Klm performance web:
This Cummins 5273379 Thermostat is an OEM replacement Thermostat for Cummins ISC/ISL/ISF/K/NT 855 Diesel engines. This thermostat is the stock replacement part needed for a leak-proof change for the correct engine operating temperatures.

This Cummins Thermostat contains the following required Original Equipment Manufacturer parts:

    180 Degree Thermostat
This Cummins 5273379 Replacement Thermostat applications:

    Select ISC/ISL/ISF/K/NT 855 Diesel Engines
Note: If your ISC/ISL/ISF/K/NT 855 engine is experiencing coolant temperature gauge cycling, replace your existing thermostat with this Cummins 5273379 xxx thermostat. The new Cummins 5273379 thermostat provides a slower coolant response rate to reduce dramatic engine temperature cycling. This slower engine response rate does not affect the engine performance.

The Cummins 5273379 Thermostat on your ISC/ISL/ISF/K/NT 855 Cummins engine allows low-temperature coolant from the radiator into the engine to keep the operating temperature within a predetermined range. Operating a Cummins engine with a bad thermostat will cause the thermostat to get stuck in the open or closed position. A defective thermostat will cause the engine to operate either below the correct operating temperature or above it leading to an overheat condition. If you are currently experiencing any of these symptoms, it's time to replace the Cummins thermostat to alleviate this issue.

The use of Genuine Cummins parts means you get a precision design, state-of-the-art manufacturing, and diligent testing which ensures optimum engine performance at the Cummins factory-specified level. Only Genuine Cummins parts come with a full factory warranty, giving you peace of mind and financial protection.

This 5273379 Replacement Cummins OEM  Thermostat is for the ISC/ISL/ISF/K/NT 855 Cummins engines that are MADE IN THE USA!

  8. Not sure what I have.

I have owned this since 05 and this is the first time I am replacing engine hoses and when I pulled the thermostat and found the part # 3940632 stamped on the thermostat. QuickServe  via phone and e-mail have not responded or did not know ... I have the serial number and logged in to QuickServe pulled up my part # and that is when I noticed the technical service bulletin notice for that part .Was interested in less restricted flow mentioned and if that gave more trips thru the radiator and could keep coolant cooler? Today I e-mailed QuickServe and see if that thermostat applied in some way. .......Waiting

  9.  2004  8.3 in My Knight and changing hoses and thermostat , Looking on Cummins Quick Silver and found Technical Service Bulletin 06T8-17 and it was change to TSB-08T8-12A.Has to do with a higher flow thermostat due to EGR Cooling . Old part # 3940632 new # 4930594. I have an e-mail in at quicksilver to order the right part.  Anyone else been down this road with this 8.3 and newer high flow thermostat ?  Always looking for cooling solutions as we are in a bowl in bullhead - fort mohave az and everything is uphill and can get warm fast in summer.

  10. I have owned my 05 Knight since 05 and the driver side rear slide only looks like it not all open but because the bed is front to back Monoco was not able in my model to have 2 full slides in the rear , larger beds are made as part of a slide . I use my hand in the inside and follow the seal when i inspect the seals and discovered a inner stop that limits the slide so the bed will fit . Could this be the same as yours
