  1. Richard my wife and I are going to the Monacoers Gathering in February. We will be coming from the Houston area. and will be taking Interstate 10. That will put us vert close to Pass Christian Mississippi. If you still need someone to help I would be willing to make the stop to help.

You may not remember me but you were the first Monacoer to provide me with help when I first got my Camelot. If you still need the help please let me know...

  2. Thank you David & Richard! I had not noticed that. I called Lazydays this morning. I was told that there is still a problem with the reservation system. The correction will be made within the coming week, at which they will be calling me with the update. So I will continue to watch...

  3. Scotty, should I be concerned? I registered today and was quoted $494.13/. Paid 1/2 down and it is for our 2022 gathering. They have sent me a cost break down. The one thing I quest is the quote for meals @ $11.48 totaling $153.00. I assume this is for the breakfast suggested in the Monacores flyer.

Please confirm I have the correct pricing etc...  Thanks

  4. I have a 2004 Camelot PST,. I had a PEX fitting break where the shower wand hose comes out into the shower area. The point where it broke was at the nylon thread fitting, the reason it broke was because Monaco dressed the PEX line with a p-trap at the bottom. This created a water pocket that could not drain out from the shower hose. Had a freeze one night when not at home and it froze that trap causing the fitting to break. After a great deal of looking at the problem I concluded the only fix was to remove the shower and repair from behind it. That meant removing vanity cabinet and the shower enclosure. I can tell you it can be done but it is a lot of work, I did it myself so I know. When I replumbed the line I made it so the line from the faucet to the shower wand did not have a trap in it, just a straight drop.

I can tell you that if you need to do such a repair you will need to get fittings to also reconnect the drain from the shower to the gray tank. In all it took me about a week of work and I would not want to do it again.

To the idea of accessing the back of the shower faucet thru the wall it might be doable but will also cause a lot of damage to the cabinet. The panel between the shower and cabinet is one piece of plywood.

I did this job about a year ago and unfortunately I was not smart enough to have taken pictures.

    Good Luck with your fix...

  5. I have been doing this job now for a couple of weeks. Not because it is hard but because I am not in any rush and work only when it is hot enough to heat up the front of the Camelot. What I found that works real good and does not hurt the paint is of all things "GOO GONE". First I peal off the film with a plastic razor blade. Then spray GOO GONE over the glue from the film. Let it sit for a few minutes then scrap off the gooey stuff. Finally I spray it again the GOO GONE and wipe the paint with a Microfiber towel. It is not hard work just time consuming.

The high mount stop light on my 2009 Dynasty burned out and I am looking for a replacement light. The old light bar  is 18 inches long, 3/4 inch wide and 3/4 inch high (including mounting pad). I have not found light bars this narrow and shallow online. Any thoughts on finding a replacement light?

    Thank you,

This is just my opinion. YMMV. Suing for bad repairs is an exercise in futility and only pays for the lawyer's Mercedes and I realize I'm painting with a very broad brush. There are other avenues you might consider pursuing. Obviously if there are circumstances where something was not done where it's specifically spelled out in your CONTRACT then you might have an opportunity to collect some of your money back, less attorney fees. Finally, the lawsuit will be filed in the offending state so there will be travel expenses for you. Your attorney will have to be licensed in the State where the offense was committed and if your State's attorney is licensed in the State of occurrence, then there will be travel expenses for him/her also. You should consider many factors before going this route. First, any alledged grievance must be shown to be contrary to what is WRITTEN in the CONTRACT SIGNED by BOTH PARTIES.  Simply your word against theirs won't fly in court. Second, you'll have to decide whether the "cost vs result" is worth it to you. Will you pay more in out of pocket costs vs what you hope to recoup from the service agency less your attorney fees.  Thirdly, explore other avenues. I had a dealer in Sacramento overcharge me for a repair.  I dropped the coach off at their facility first thing in the morning with a promise it'd be finished that afternoon. As we are full timers, we dropped the coach off, went for coffee and with nothing else to do, sat in their parking lot while repairs were done. They worked on the coach for two hours and charged me five hours labor. If we hadn't been in the lot there's no way we would have known that, but we did. After arguing with the service manager he lopped off one hour but I was still not satisfied and told him so.  You wouldn't believe his 'reasoning' for the extra hours. He simply shrugged it off and sent me on my way. I filed a complaint with the State's Bureau of Automotive Repair and after their investigation, I received a check from the service dealer for the remaining two hours labor. I feel I acomplished two things, first I got my money back but more importantly, that 'offense' goes on their record and hopefully they will investigate their practices and maybe the next traveler won't get gouged. Best of luck....Dennis

Dennis, may I ask the name of the Sacramento repair shop that did this poor work for you. I ask because I also had an experience in Sacramento. Was wondering if it was the same shop. (A well know shop that has an office/sales/repair shop in Grass Valley CA.)

  8. Scotty, I removed the heater that was under the old not so cold when I installed the new counter depth frig. It was really quite easy. The heater came out through the outside panel heater door.  The duct work had to be capped off when I removed the false floor that held the Not-so-cold. I just installed small covers over the duct ports in the floor. On the outside I removed panel door for the heater and reinstalled it as it was on the outside.  I plugged the feed LPG line and pressure tested the cap for leaks before locating in under the floor. I used the 120 electric supplied to the Not-so-cold for a power line for the new frig.   The removal was a good thing to do as it lowered the frig so my wife could reach everywhere inside.

We have not missed the heater which as Bob noted did supply heat to the rear outlets of the Camelot.

  9. I did this replacement about 2 years ago. Biggest problem I had was getting power to the area. What I did was to run a new cable behind the cabinets, under the shower and bath sink into the back bedroom under the cabinets there  then into the cabinet where the washer/dryer would have been. I then plugged into the outlet prewired for the W/D. Was a lot of work but worth it! We love Induction. as we also have it in our home.

The counter was fixed by adding new pieces of the same type material. then I had a cabinet shop glue it all together.

  10. FYI all (if you don't already know) Blue OX True Center steering device has been discontinued! They are still selling until stock is gone only the bracket assemblies. I had to call them this afternoon as I could not find anything on their web pages about the true center, steering. I was told that they have discontinued products that are not for towing!

Their phone number is  "1-800-228-9289" if you care to verify this information.

  11. Found the problem! The Salesman switch relay was bad. It had failed in the open position. I had ordered a replacement, but when I saw the pictures and post by Gary Mathis on this forum (thank you Gary). I removed the bad relay. I will return the replacement relay to Amazon .  That saves $77.47 and any future problems with that "F"ing switch!

  12. Does the 2004 Camelot (40) PST use the Big Boy battery cut off relay. I have found the KIB LR8906 latching relay. Which at this point is NOT passing power thru.  Both of the small terminals have 12+ volts on them as wired now. The problem started when I moved the motor home and reconnected 30 amp shore power. The Intellitec display showed that 30 amps were present, BUT the display also showed "GEN SET" (led lit) the window had a new display. It showed "rf".  The generator was NOT running! For reasons I can't explain I started the generator, at that point the display went out! Now I do not have any 12V power in the coach. Yesterday when this happened the Aladdin display went out. Today it is back working. but showing house batteries at"00" volts. actual measured voltage is above 13 volts. The inventor is working and is also charging the house batteries. I teh FRB (door on driver side) the main fuse and relay board has voltage on the "non-switch" side but nothing on the "Switch" side. hinse the question is this the only battery cutoff relay on my Camelot?

I do hope this makes sense one of the Monaco GURUs !

  13. Chris, I can't say anything about the I10 route, but the I20 route from Dallas south west is one I will never take again. Road is ok but don't plan on overnighting anywhere near Abilene to Odessa. The area is very heavy populated with oil field workers. I stayed in Midland and the best rv park there was full of transient workers. Someone stole the license plate off the rear of my Camelot that night. It was a Nevada Armservices plate (Air Force).  That makes it a place to avoid for me!

no visible  G F I  except ciccuit breaker it self   however not tripped

I had the same problem on my 2004 Camelot. Turned out the Engine heater had a GFI reciprocal, and it was also a GFI type.  At first I was concerned that my block heater had shorted out.  The problem turn out to be the GFI  reciprocal as the problem did not clear with the block heater unplugged. Replaced the GFI reciprocal and every thing was good.

  15. Well thanks for trying...

Scotty, Guess what! I looked back at mail I have saved from Monacoers and I found that I had saved the info i wanted. "The moderator of the Monacoers group has approved your request for membership." it was on 1-8-15. So I have rthe date I was looking for.

    Thanks

    David Elsner

  16. Thank you Scotty. Is there any reason that I .and others could get our first date joined and approved in the old Bill Ds Monacoers group?  I for one would like to include that info in my profile. Probably no real need for this, just for my own info.

    Thank You,

    David Elsner
