It ALSO controls what is called Bi-Directional charging mode (Called BIRD) in that, when on shore or genny, your chassis batteries will be charged also.  The inverter automatically charges the HOUSE and through the BIRD…thr Chassis. But when driving, the Chassis bank is charged from the engine Alternator….If the House Bank needs charging….then the BIRD kicks in and the  Big Boy is energized and does that.  NOW the fun part of this lesson.  When you push the Battery Boost switch, a FULL 12 VDC energizes the coil…but if you  hold it (some folks have recommended a golf tee) then that will fry the Big Boy after a few minutes.  Ain’t no fix…NEW ONE.  BUT, then, i know you are asking…how does it stay energized or closed and not burn up.  Simple , this board KNOWS.  Seriously, when the BIRD mode is needed, that board then PULSES the voltage….like quickly turning on and off a light switch.  You get the equivalent of a voltage that would measure about 8 VDC.  That lower voltage is FINE for continuous duty.  But the FULL voltage of 12 VDC is only allowed on an intermittent basis.

I have a similar coach and, when I have needed to use the battery boost I have pressed and held the switch while either trying the ignition key or the generator start. If I am understanding you correctly, that is wrong? Granted I'm not holding for an entire minute....but certainly a few seconds.

  2. I can and WILL attest to the beauty and quality of this coach! I found this RV online years back. Before I had a chance to make a move on it, the coach was sold. I was sad and though I’d never see it again. A few weeks later, in one of life’s little ironies that very coach pulled into the campground I was staying at. I brazenly marched over and introduced myself to the Sells. After a brief awkward moment, we became fast friends with me swooning over their beautiful Monaco.

If you are looking for an upgrade, I can tell you that you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! This is a magnificent coach that has been beautifully maintained over the years. Don’t let the opportunity pass you by.

  3. Update on this. By a miracle, was able to locate a "new" (not newly built but had never been installed) lift from Lift It. Had it installed and suffered a new failure. Where as this unit is now mechanically sound, the computer module for it is problematic. It appears to have a part number of LI-IES-D-701 with a possible prefix of  2 26 08. I am now searching high and low to find a replacement module, although my initial looking has brought up nothing. Any suggestions on where to look would be greatly appreciated.

  4. RESOLUTION! Okay, after lots of back and forth, digging and sorting, I have discovered the issue. In an interesting turn of events, I ended up having two failures. The initial failure was of the "brain" a module for the GPS navigation system from Kenwood. This module controlled much more than just the navigation; it handles the camera video feed (for the front screen ONLY) and more. As the system was suffering multiple failures, it made sense to simply "upgrade". I have since installed a Kenwood DNX775RVS and I can say, if you enjoy technology this is a great system! I am very very very happy with it. My bluetooth phone calls are better, I have an unlimited music selection (coming from my phone) and an RV based navigation system. Additionally, it integrates with my other systems to an extent. Would definitely recommend the DNX775RVS!

For each slide there is an extend and return line.  They can be capped at the manifold pump.

If you release the retract solenoid for the front slide, a few strong bodies should be needed to push in this slide.  Don't push on the slide flange Once the slide is in be sure to close the release solenoid valve.

    How would I cap it?

More so, is it possible (assuming that only the Right Rear slide line is leaking) to cap that slide, and bring in the open slide with the hydraulic system? I hope I am explaining that as I intend. If I can, I'd like to let the coach bring the slide in. I'm hoping only one line is leaking, and that slide is already retracted. Thank you.

If the hydraulic pump is running and the led light next to the fuse labelled rear P/S out on the multiplex module comes on when you press the out button on the multiplex keypad, then you likely have a sticking valve on the hydraulic pump manifold.  These valves are easily accessible by removing the step well storage bin.  Just loosen the pressure release screw and the slide will likely move out a few inches then retighten.  The slide will likely move out like normal.  Valve 2E is the slide release valve for my coach.

Thank you for this schematic. I don’t even know where I’m at with updating....but here’s the current situation. If I crawl into the closet (I have the Yorkshire IV floorplan) and look forward I can see a conduit on the outside of the right rear slide. When any button is pressed to move a slide that conduit gushes with fluid.

Is it possible to isolate/lock off that hydraulic line, refill the reservoir, and bring in the left front slide? If I can do that, I can drive the coach to an authorized service center. They’ve been attempting to help troubleshoot as well, but they really need the coach their to work on it. I don’t blame them.

  7. At this point I’ve placed a call for a service tech. Well, actually I had called earlier for a technician, but continued to tinker. I was able to see hydraulic fluid gushing out of a conduit behind the slide in the bedroom....only visible by crawling into the closet.

So I know the line is “damaged” somewhere in the conduit. I can’t get to it enough because the slide is in. I can’t get the slide out with two adult males. I will admit, I’m unable to fix this. Sadly it ruined the COVID escape little get away planned, but so be it. I’m glad at least that I was able to deduce what I did. Thank you for your help.

  8. HELP! I'm supposed to be hitting the road with friends for a few days of RVing. I wanted to open the RV (2009 Monaco Dynasty) for easy loading. Three of my slides opened just fine. The bedroom passenger slide out does not want to open. It makes a sound, almost like a gushing sound but does not move. I cannot tell exactly where the sound is coming from. I don't see any visible fluid leaks...but also not sure I'm looking in the right areas. I'm attempting to check fuses and such, but again not sure exactly where to look. Also, I appear to have power to all other systems. Engine and Chassis batteries are charged and the generator is running, and supporting the full electrical load of the coach.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

  9. Hello, I'm looking for a few ideas. I have a 2009 Monaco Dynasty, just purchased a month ago. It has both a pilot and co-pilot GPS system, which I was very happy about. When I was doing the paperwork the previous owner had his technician working on a few things....I had asked a question about the sound system. At any rate, after he tinkered (unfortunately I did not realize it until later) the driver GPS system is non-functioning. It is the Kenwood OEM option. All other functions operate, radio, CD, etc., but not the GPS. In fact, now the icon for GPS is simply gray. I can change the video input on that system to be the video output of the passenger system...but annoying to have to program the GPS on the passenger seat and simply watch it on the driver seat.

Any thoughts of things to try or look for? Thanks!

On my "09 Dynasty the outside tv lift was from a company in Seattle, WA. called Lift It Inc. Their web site http://www.liftmytv.com

They produced both flip down and drop down tv slides. From the web site it sounds like they only carry a minimal amount of parts and no longer

build these units. I have had the same issues years ago with a broken tooth on the track causing misalignment. You might have to consider a retrofit

from another company.  Look at Smith Richards Inc. I have not had any experience with them but found them on one of my searches.

Thank you very kindly for the suggestion. I just reached out to Smith Richards Inc. to inquire if that is something they could handle. Thank you!

  11. I have the factory option for the drop down tv in the passenger side front slide out. At this time, it is refusing to go up when I press the switch, which also means I cannot bring the slide in. I believe I have diagnosed the issue to be a small plastic gear (of sorts) in the lift mechanism that is out of alignment. I'm not sure if I can realign it or if it needs replaced. Does anyone have any suggestions/know where I can find replacement parts?

    Thanks
