  1. (EDITED to remove large photos that would not resolve and open

I did this repair to my 2008 Dynasty couple years ago (If this is what is happening with yours).

I followed AZ-Expert Video (YouTube) and was a fairly simple fix.

  2. Southern Commercial Diesel out of Crestview, FL (ph.#850-520-2797) came out to our site in Milton, FL. and connected the engine to the Cummins Insite computer program. He checked the codes, updated the computer programming and started a Stationary Regen. After about 30 minutes said it was making progress, after 45-60 minutes stated looked good (reading on Cummins Insite, a number he was looking at started at 84 was at 64 and needed to get to around 26). He finished and said you are good, told him I had a 10 hours to make it home Austin, TX.  He said we should not have a problem. We drove 300 miles yesterday to Cajun Palms Henderson, LA. no issues.

The cost was $1000. not cheap but happy to be on the road, if it fixed the issue. He stated Cummins likely would have just changed the filter.

Asked since the Coach does not have a manual button if would help to have a shop do it every couple years, he said yes. Also stated he felt the cycle the onboard Regen process was not long enough to complete to process. Stated it was fixed on my my engine and could not be changed.(one persons opinion)

He also stated that OTR Performance (otrperformance.com) has a device that plugs into the OBD and I could do a stationary Regen. Stated that it's common item with truckers. Looked at their website have not checked to see which item would be needed. I was going to conact him on Monday if I can not figure it out. (probably other companies have a similar item?)

Also, Cummins in Mobile, AL said it would be over a week look at it, Empire Truck Sales in Pensacola could look at on Monday sometime.

He also suggested sometime in the future to having the process of cleaning the DPF.

    Heading to Austin this morning.

  3. Driving our 2008 Dynasty 8.9 ISL. Left Navarre Beach yesterday, driving Hwy 87 towards I-10. After about 10 minutes (driving 45-50mph) a yellow check engine light came on, a few minutes late the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) came on and few minutes later the DPF light began flashing. Once on I-10 the engine became derated and the Stop Engine light turned on. We limped into a RV park in Milton, FL.

About a week ago we were delayed around 90 minutes very slow traffic under 5mph, for an accident on I-75.

Called Cummins in Mobile Alabama said it would be over a week before we can get in. Contacted Empire Truck Sales, Pensacola, said we could bring it in on Monday. I have a Mobile mechanic, Southern Commercial Diesel coming sometime today.

    I have a code reader, Codes SPN3251 FMI16 and SID 324 FMI0 were displayed.

Is it possible to do a manual regeneration? I don’t see a manual regeneration button.

    Any other thoughts or suggestions?

  4. I have the coach going to the shop next week to see if they can figure it out, will update you afterwards.

I will be the first to admit I'm not electrically incline (outside of easy electrical I do most my maintenance). I'm thinking it's in the wiring harness somewhere. The shop said if they can't find it they might be able to wire the to the upper clearance lights? I guess the that wiring can handle the additional load?

Hoping they will find the problem and fix it correctly. I had a few repair shops say this is a chassis issue and didn't want to work on it.

I made the exact same brand/size change two years ago.  Good improvement in ride, never noticed any smell.  You don't want to know this, but tow years ago they cost me just about $500 each mounted and balanced.....  Replaced the rear six last year with 295s at $550 each.

Next you are going to tell me Diesel price might go up? 🤑

  6. Just replace my Goodyear G670-RV 295/80/22.5(because of age), on the front of my 2008 Dynasty with Toyo M144, 315/80/22.5.

The cost installed and balanced was just under $750 per tire(the price was about $400 less per tire then Michelin thru FMCA).

I purchased them at Southern Tire Mart(Texas) they have a couple locations in California. They had some stock available a couple weeks ago.

I tried to pay close attention to the Goodyear’s ride-wise before the change out to see if I could tell a difference. Ride-wise Toyo’s have had a noticeably smoother ride. The Toyo’s had a strong stinky smell when they were first installed. After they heated up a couple times (100 miles) the smell disappeared. I have about 2K miles on the tires at this time.

I have not had any clearance issues since the install. I always make sure the tires are straight when parked and the suspension is in Travel Mode before I depart.

  7. I noticed that my rear running lights(daytime running lights and at night when the headlights are on) were not working. I replaced the fuse which continued to burn out. I checked the bulbs seemed fine. Removed the bulbs to see if there was a bad bulb socket, the fuse continues to burns out with no bulbs installed. The running head lights, marker lights, signals and brake lights work fine.

There must be a short somewhere nothing obvious I could find.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    John

  8. Looking to replace the Docking lights (side lights) on my 2008 Monaco Dynasty. Couple of them are not working, would like to replace with LED hopefully brighter then the original install.

I have searched and not found the same oval shape. The distance between the screws is 5.25 inches.

    Thanks for any help.

    John
